Eastern Shore Centre is a 540,000-square-foot (50,000 m2) lifestyle center located at the intersection of Malbis Parkway (Alabama State Route 181) and Interstate 10 in Spanish Fort, Alabama, United States, a suburb of Mobile. A landscaped perimeter road, Eastern Shore Boulevard, connects the lifestyle and power center components of this hybrid regional center. An apartment community, The Arlington at Eastern Shore Centre, was developed in the northeastern section of the complex. Eastern Shore Centre is Baldwin County's first large-scale, multi-anchored regional shopping center and the first lifestyle center to open in South Alabama.Developed by The MGHerring Group and designed by CMH Architects of Birmingham, it officially opened on November 17, 2004, following a slight delay caused by Hurricane Ivan, although the Dillard's department store was operating a few weeks earlier. The lifestyle center is anchored by the Dillard's and Belk department stores, while the bookstore Barnes & Noble and the regional footwear retailer Shoe Station are additional junior anchors. In-line merchants include Build-A-Bear Workshop, Ann Taylor LOFT, and Kirkland's Home. Numerous eateries and service-oriented businesses are situated on outparcels in the parking lots of both Eastern Shore Centre and Eastern Shore Plaza. As of spring 2017, the regional shopping center is managed by Spinoso Real Estate Group.Eastern Shore Centre added an entertainment anchor, in the form of a fourteen screen stadium seat Premiere Cinemas multiplex. This 45,000-square-foot (4,200 m2) facility features more than 2,500 seats and is Alabama's first all-digital theater complex. This multiplex was constructed on 10 acres (40,000 m2) of land immediately behind the Barnes & Noble section of the lifestyle center complex.More than 12,000 square feet (1,100 m2) of long-vacant inline tenant space and a former PacSun clothing store was developed for a location of the upstart Charming Charlie fashion accessory merchant. This retailer is located in the Belk anchored wing of the lifestyle center.In April 2015, Bed Bath & Beyond closed and relocated to the Jubilee Square power center in nearby Daphne. Regional shoe retailer Shoe Station relocated from an outparcel at Eastern Shore Plaza into a redeveloped 23,130 square foot combination of the former Bed Bath & Beyond and adjoining mall space in the fall of 2015. In January 2017, home furnishings retailers Williams-Sonoma and Pottery Barn relocated to the Legacy Village at Spring Hill shopping center in West Mobile. As it is a regional shopping center, Eastern Shore Centre also includes a smaller power center component located on site, adjacent to the lifestyle center. Eastern Shore Plaza, as this power center is known, is more than 250,000 square feet (23,000 m2) in size and is tenanted with big-box stores such as Best Buy, PetSmart, Old Navy, Ross Dress For Less, Michaels, and Cost Plus World Market.Phase five of development comprised the construction of a 54,817-square-foot (5,092.7 m2) Publix supermarket and adjoining community-oriented strip mall on a 9-acre (36,000 m2) site north of the Belk department store building. Publix supermarket opened as the anchor of the Eastern Shore Commons shopping center on November 19, 2011. According to the master and lease plans of Eastern Shore Centre, plans also call for the eventual development of a big-box retailer of no more than 140,000 square feet (13,000 m2) to the east of the Publix-anchored strip mall, while an additional 45,000 square feet (4,200 m2) of commercial space will be developed south of the Premiere Cinemas site.

Spanish Fort High School is a high school in Spanish Fort, Alabama, United States that was founded in 2005 and graduated its first class in 2008. The school serves grades 9-12 and is part of the Baldwin County Public Schools.

Malbis is an unincorporated community in Baldwin County, Alabama, United States. The community lies at the crossroads of U.S. 90 and Alabama State Route 181 just south of I-10. Portions of the settlement are today within the city limits of both Daphne and Spanish Fort. The city of Loxley lies to the east. Malbis is considered a community or populated place but is not identified in the United States Census. It is part of the Daphne–Fairhope–Foley Micropolitan Statistical Area. The Malbis Plantation was inducted into the National Register of Historic Places in May 2011.

Malbis Memorial Church, formally the Sacred Patriarchal and Stavropegial Monastery of the Presentation of Theotokos, is a Greek Orthodox Church located in Malbis, Baldwin County, Alabama. One of roughly six Greek Orthodox churches in the state of Alabama, it is not a part of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, but is instead directly under the authority of the Patriarchate of Constantinople. It is known for its intricate and extensive mosaics and paintings. The church was officially dedicated on January 3, 1965, and the opening service for the church was conducted by Archbishop Iakovos of America. It has never had an active congregation, but religious observances, special services, and events, such as weddings, do take place. It was listed on the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage on November 30, 1977. The Malbis Plantation Historic District, which includes the church, was designated by the Alabama Historical Commission in 2008, a year that also saw the death of the last of Malbis Plantation's original Greek settlers.

Loxley is a city in Baldwin County, Alabama, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population of the town was 1,632. It is part of the Daphne-Fairhope-Foley metropolitan area. Loxley is becoming a popular location for the expansion of the suburbs from Daphne and Spanish Fort, Alabama, because it is served by an Interstate 10 exit and is almost directly between the cities of Mobile, Alabama, and Pensacola, Florida.

Daphne High School is a secondary school located in Daphne, Alabama, United States. The school, which serves grades 9-12, is a part of the Baldwin County Public Schools district. Students who attend the school live in the city of Daphne, its surrounding unincorporated areas, and the city of Loxley. The school's mascot is the Trojan. As of 2020, the school has approximately 1,400 students and offers the International Baccalaureate program. In 2012, it was listed as a National Blue Ribbon School.

St. Patrick's Catholic Church is a historic Roman Catholic church on the east side of Hwy. 90 in Loxley, Alabama. It was built in 1924 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. The Loxley Public Library currently occupies the building.Originally dedicated to Saint Raphael, it was one of four small mission churches in central Baldwin County built to serve Catholic immigrant workers, many from the Midwest. In 1974, St. Raphael, St. Gabriel in Summerdale, St. Matthew in Elsanor, and Infant Jesus of Prague in Silverhill were closed and the congregations merged into the new parish of St. Patrick, which is located centrally in Robertsdale, AL.

Belforest is a small, unincorporated community in Baldwin County, Alabama, United States. Belforest is located on Alabama State Route 181, 2.9 miles (4.7 km) east of Daphne.

Daphne () is a city in Baldwin County, Alabama, United States, on the eastern shoreline of Mobile Bay. The city is located along I-10, 11 miles east of Mobile and 170 miles southwest of the state capital of Montgomery. The 2010 United States Census lists the population of the city as 21,570, making Daphne the most populous city in Baldwin County. It is a principal city of the Daphne-Fairhope-Foley metropolitan area, which includes all of Baldwin County. The inhabited history of what is now called Daphne dates at least to the Paleo-Indian period and Native American tribes around 9000 BC. Modern-day Daphne is a thriving suburb of nearby Mobile. Daphne has adopted the nickname ″The Jubilee City″ in recognition of its status as one of the locations of the Mobile Bay jubilee. The only other place jubilees occur is in Tokyo Bay.

The Battle of Spanish Fort took place from March 27 to April 8, 1865, in Baldwin County, Alabama, as part of the Mobile Campaign of the Western Theater of the American Civil War. After the Union victory in the Battle of Mobile Bay, Mobile nevertheless remained in Confederate hands. Spanish Fort was heavily fortified as an eastern defense to the city of Mobile. Fort Huger, Fort (Battery) Tracey, Fort (Battery) McDermott, Fort Alexis, Red Fort, and Old Spanish Fort were all part of the Mobile defenses at Spanish Fort.

The United States Sports Academy is a private university focused on sports and located in Daphne, Alabama. It offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree programs as well as certificate programs. Founded in 1972, the academy has provided its sports programs to more than 60 countries around the world.
