The California Club operated from 1958 to 1973. Phil Long took over operation of the casino located at the corner of First and Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada, 1958. The locals casino catered to local gamblers. It was owned and operated by Phil Long and partner George Milford and was a casino only without any hotel rooms. The California Club was sold to Steve Wynn in 1973. The California Club was combined into the Golden Nugget shortly after the purchase by Wynn. In 1963, Corky McCorquodale introduced Texas hold'em to Las Vegas at the California Club. The game became popular and quickly spread to the Golden Nugget, Stardust and Dunes.

The California Hotel and Casino (also known as The Cal) opened in 1975 at a cost of $10 million with a hotel and casino located in Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada near the Fremont Street Experience. When it opened it had 325 rooms which has since been expanded to 781.The California has been owned by Boyd Gaming since it was built by Sam Boyd.After facing slow business initially, Boyd soon began focusing on the Hawaiian market, offering Hawaiian food and encouraging a more casual atmosphere. He introduced vacation packages from the islands, with charter airfares as low as $9.90. An estimated 80-90% of visitors to Las Vegas from Hawaii stay at a Boyd property. Boyd's Hawaiian marketing, which extended to the Fremont and Main Street Station with their later acquisitions, is credited with helping to build a large Hawaiian community in Las Vegas, which is sometimes called "the ninth island".In 1989, the hotel designated the term Golden Arm, after Stanley Fujitake rolled dice for three hours and six minutes in craps without losing.In 1994 an additional tower was added and the remainder of the hotel was remodeled. The property is connected to Main Street Station by an enclosed walkway. A multimillion-dollar redesign and renovation was announced in December 2015, and was completed in December 2016. The project included three new openings: Holo Holo – The Happy Bar, the Cal Sports Lounge, and Redwood Steakhouse. A Hawaiian cuisine restaurant, Aloha Specialties, was renovated as well. By the time of completion, work had already begun on updating 435 guest rooms and 56 suites in the west hotel tower with new carpet, fixtures, and furniture. The hotel renovation was expected to be finished in early 2017.

Las Vegas Club was a hotel and casino located on the Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. The Las Vegas Club opened in 1930, joining the Las Vegas Hotel which had opened in 1908. The Las Vegas Club was relocated across the street in 1949. At its new location, the Las Vegas Club operated within the Overland Hotel, which was established in 1905. Jackie Gaughan and Mel Exber purchased the Las Vegas Club in 1962, and added a sports theme. Hotel towers were added in 1980 and 1996; the latter tower was part of a $35 million expansion. Exber died in 2002, and Gaughan sold the Las Vegas Club to Barrick Gaming in 2004. Barrick's partner, Tamares Group, bought out Barrick's ownership stake in 2005. The hotel portion, with 410 rooms, was closed in April 2013. Tamares sold the Las Vegas Club two years later to Derek and Greg Stevens, who owned two other downtown casinos. The Stevens closed the Las Vegas Club casino on August 20, 2015, with plans to redevelop the resort through renovations and some demolition. It was later decided that the Las Vegas Club would be demolished entirely for a new resort. Demolition began in 2017, and the Circa Resort & Casino was opened on the site in October 2020.

Las Vegas station was a passenger railroad station in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is connected to the rear of the Plaza Hotel & Casino and was in service from 1971 until the demise of the Desert Wind in 1997.

Circa Resort & Casino is a casino and hotel resort in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada, on the Fremont Street Experience. The property was previously occupied by the Las Vegas Club hotel-casino, the Mermaids Casino, and the Glitter Gulch strip club. Circa is owned by brothers Derek and Greg Stevens, who also own other downtown casinos. They purchased the Las Vegas Club in 2015, followed by the acquisition of Mermaids and Glitter Gulch. The three businesses were demolished in 2017, and construction on Circa began in February 2019, with an opening initially scheduled for December 2020. When the COVID-19 pandemic began, new safety precautions were put in place and the project faced disruptions in its supply chain, both causing an alteration in the construction schedule. As a result, construction on the first five floors was expedited for an early opening on October 28, 2020. The opening included a two-story casino, a three-story sportsbook by Circa Sports, five restaurants, and a six-tiered swimming pool area. The hotel portion opened on December 28, 2020, with 512 rooms. It is the tallest building in the Fremont Street area, and the first new hotel-casino to be built there since 1980.

Molasky Corporate Center is a 17-story office and retail building in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. The building was developed by Irwin Molasky's company, The Molasky Group. Construction began in 2005, and the building was topped off in July 2006, before opening in August 2007. The Molasky Corporate Center is a green building designed with energy efficient features which earned it a Gold certification from the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). The Southern Nevada Water Authority is a major tenant in the building, and owns five of the building's office floors.

The Plaza Hotel & Casino is a casino–hotel located in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada owned by the Tamares Group, and PlayLV is the leaseholder and operator of the property. It currently has 995 rooms and suites, as well as an 80,000-square-foot (7,400 m2) casino and more than 25,000 square feet (2,300 m2) of event space. The Plaza also features a classic showroom, seasonal roof top swimming pool, fitness center, downtown's only bingo room, and a race and sports book. The Plaza began an extensive $35 million renovation project at the end of 2010 that included brand new guestrooms and suites, an entirely remodeled casino floor and lobby, and all new restaurants, bars and entertainment options. The renovations utilize contemporary furnishings and materials purchased from the Fontainebleau Resort after it suspended construction on the Las Vegas Strip. The hotel and the full casino reopened on 1 September 2011. The property has undertaken numerous other renovation projects in the years since to further enhance the guest experience.

The Mint Las Vegas was a hotel and casino in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. The Mint was the sponsor of the Mint 400, the largest off road race from the mid-1960s to the mid-1980s. The Mint was made famous (or infamous) as the first night's stay in Hunter S. Thompson and Oscar Acosta's legendary 1971 weekend trip to Las Vegas, immortalized in Thompson's novel Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

Transportation in the Las Vegas Valley including the cities of Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Henderson is a multi-faceted system. The street system is mostly laid out in a north-south/east-west system of roads. While most residents rely on cars, there is a network of bus routes reaching some areas of the county. The Las Vegas Valley, being the one of the largest tourist destinations in the world, has a mass transportation system which favors the Las Vegas Strip.Many proposals have been made to expand the transportation system in the Las Vegas Valley including commuter rail and rapid transit.

Mermaids Casino was a casino located on the Fremont Street Experience in Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. The casino's only gaming options were slot and video poker machines.

The 2004 World Series of Poker (WSOP) was held at Binion's Horseshoe after Harrah's Entertainment purchased the casino and the rights to the tournament in January. Harrah's announced that future WSOP tournaments will be held in a moving circuit of member casinos.

Hotel Apache is the hotel located at Binion's Gambling Hall and Hotel on Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. The hotel was bought by Benny Binion in 1951 and was merged with the Eldorado Club into Binion's Horseshoe. TLC Casino Enterprises, the current owner of Binion's Gambling Hall and Hotel, planned to reopen 81 of the rooms as a boutique hotel, going back to the roots of the original hotel name. It opened in the summer 2019.It is known for having the first elevator and is the first fully carpeted casino in Las Vegas.On December 14, 2009, the hotel and coffee shop closed due to the late-2000s recession. Previously, Binion's advertised the hotel as closed for renovations. However, due to the high cost of asbestos removal in the hotel, renovation plans were shelved. The hotel reopened on July 29, 2019. One of the first guests was Gina Silvagni Perry, the granddaughter of the man who constructed the casino. According to Tim Lager, general manager of Binion, he wanted to "recreate what this hotel was when it opened as what was then a megaresort back in 1932". TLC Casino Enterprises currently manages and operates the casino.
