Mrgavet

Mkhchyan (Armenian: Մխչյան) is a village in the Artashat Municipality of the Ararat Province of Armenia near the Armenia–Turkey border. The town is named after Liparit Mkchyan, a Soviet commander killed in 1921.

Dimitrov (Armenian: Դիմիտրով), or Ghuylasar Nerkin until 1949, is a village in the Artashat Municipality of the Ararat Province of Armenia. It was renamed in 1949 in honor of Georgi Dimitrov − Comintern and Bulgarian Communist leader and prime minister of Bulgaria. The village is inhabited mainly by Armenians and Assyrians.

The Hrazdan (Armenian: Հրազդան գետ, Hrazdan get) is a major river and the second largest in Armenia. It originates at the northwest extremity of Lake Sevan and flows south through the Kotayk Province and Armenia's capital, Yerevan; the lake in turn is fed by several streams. In the Ararat plain it joins the Aras river along the border with Turkey. Its waters join the Kura river, before flowing into the Caspian Sea. A series of hydro-electric projects have been constructed on the river. Its waters are in demand to irrigate crops.
