Saint-Genès-Champanelle

The Circuit de Charade, also known as Circuit Louis Rosier and Circuit Clermont-Ferrand, is a motorsport race track in Saint-Genès-Champanelle near Clermont-Ferrand in the Puy-de-Dôme department in Auvergne in central France. The circuit, built around the base of an extinct volcano, was known for its challenging layout which favored the most skillful drivers and motorcyclists. It hosted the French Grand Prix four times and the French motorcycle Grand Prix ten times.

The Arboretum de Royat (41 hectares) is an arboretum located in the forêt domaniale southwest of Royat, Puy-de-Dôme, Auvergne, France. Royat is a spa town at the foot of the Parc des Volcans d'Auvergne and the Puy-de-Dôme, developed from 1850 onwards. The arboretum was established in 1931, and currently contains walking paths through over 40 types of trees, including conifers from North America and Europe such as Douglas fir, larch, and Lawson cypress. It is managed by the Office National des Forêts.

Ceyrat (French pronunciation: ​[sɛʁa]; Auvergnat: Ceirat) is a commune in the Puy-de-Dôme department in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes in central France. It is twinned with the English village of Great Waltham

Royat (French pronunciation: ​[ʁwaja]; Occitan: Roiat) is a commune in the Puy-de-Dôme department in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes in central France. As of 2019, its population was 4,359.Since Roman times, its thermal springs have made it a spa town, and the remains of the Roman baths are still visible.

Orcines (French pronunciation: ​[ɔʁsin]) is a commune in the Puy-de-Dôme department in Auvergne in central France. Located at the foot of the Chaine des Puys, Orcines is an important village for the hikers who come visiting the natural heritage in Auvergne. The town belongs to the rural area of Clermont-Ferrand.

The Roman theater of Montaudou is a performance building built in Gaul, in the city of Arveni, in the present-day commune of Ceyrat in the Puy-de-Dôme département. Its remains have been described since the early 19th century, thanks to the presence of a long wall some fifty meters long, known locally as the Saracen Wall. First interpreted as a sanctuary dedicated to Mercury, then as a Roman villa, the hypothesis of an ancient Roman theater emerged in the second half of the 20th century. However, it was not until a series of surveys in the 2000s that this interpretation was validated. Built at the end of the 1st century with a diameter of 51 m, the theater was extended to 81 m in the second half of the 2nd century. However, little is known about the building's evolution and abandonment. While it is now accepted that the theater is not isolated, particularly from probable dwellings and a potential temple with a centered plan, the exact nature of this pole located 1.5 km southwest of Augustonemetum/Clermont-Ferrand is not known, and the hypothesis of a secondary agglomeration independent of the Arverne capital has been put forward.

The Panoramique des Dômes is a 5.2 km long rack railway that allows access to the top of the Puy de Dôme, in France, since mid-2012. The railway is owned by the Conseil général du Puy-de-Dôme. The train has a capacity of 1,200 persons an hour.

Beaumont (Auvergnat: Biaumont) is a commune in the Puy-de-Dôme department in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes in central France. The commune lies to the south of the dormant volcano, the Puy-de-Dôme (10 km from the commune and the city) which is clearly visible, including the telecommunication antennas that sit on its top.
