Rackheath

Royal Air Force Rackheath or more simply RAF Rackheath is a former Royal Air Force station located near the village of Rackheath, approximately 6 miles (9.7 km) north-east of Norwich, England.

The Norwich Northern Distributor Road, now officially named the Broadland Northway (but also known as the NDR) is a 12.4 mi (20.0 km) dual-carriageway linking the A47 to the south east of the city to the proposed Rackheath Eco-town and Norwich International Airport to the north of Norwich before finishing at the A1067 Fakenham Road to the north west of the city. The road is designated the A1270, and in Spring 2018 was named the Broadland Northway. It was given 'Programme Entry' status by the Department for Transport in December 2009. On 2 June 2015 the scheme was given the final go ahead, the road was completed on 17 April 2018, the western section having opened in late 2017. The project was initially for a road from the A47 to the west of Norwich at Easton passing to the north of the city and linking to the A47 to the east near Postwick. The project was later scaled back to start at the A1067 road. Norfolk County Council has announced that it is committed to providing the final section from the A1067 to the A47 at Easton to the west of Norwich, with the project being called the Norwich Western Link, and has made its delivery one of its three main Highways Objectives (2017) committing £400,000 for further investigation of a potential route.

The Rackheath Eco-town is a proposal for just over 5,000 houses to be built in the Rackheath area, in Norfolk, within a mile of The Broads National Park. The controversial proposals have been featured on many programmes, including BBC One's Politics Show, BBC One's Look East, ITV's Anglia Tonight and a BBC One Norwich North By-Election Special.

Salhouse railway station is on the Bittern Line in Norfolk, England, serving the village of Salhouse. It is the next station along the line from Norwich, 5 miles 74 chains (9.5 km) from that terminus; the following station is Hoveton & Wroxham. Train services are operated by Greater Anglia.

Salhouse is a village and civil parish in the Broads in the English county of Norfolk. It lies south of the River Bure and Salhouse Broad, about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) north-east of Norwich. The civil parish has an area of 8.96 km2 (3.46 sq mi) and in the 2001 census had a population of 1,462 in 604 households, increasing to 1,486 in 638 households at the 2011 Census. For the purposes of local government, the parish falls within the district of Broadland although areas adjoining the river and broad fall into the executive area of the Broads Authority.

Milestones Hospital [ˈmaɪlstəʊnz ˈhɒspɪtl] is a 10-bed mental hospital for women at Salhouse, Norfolk. Milestones is owned by the Atarrah Project Ltd.

The River Hor is a short river in the county of Norfolk, England. It runs 13.3 kilometres (8.3 mi) east from its source near Felthorpe to its confluence with the River Bure near Wroxham.

Beeston St Andrew is a civil parish north of Norwich in the Broadland district of Norfolk, England. It contains Beeston Park and according to the 2001 census had a population of 39. At the 2011 Census the population remained less than 100 and was included in the civil parish of Spixworth. It is part of the ecclesiastical parish of Sprowston with Beeston St Andrew.

Crostwick Marsh is an 11.6-hectare (29-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Crostwick, north of Norwich in Norfolk. It is part of the Broadland Ramsar site and Special Protection Area, and The Broads Special Area of Conservation.This marsh is in the valley of the Crostwick Beck, a tributary of the River Bure. It has areas of damp grassland, tall fen, species-rich fen grassland, alder carr, scrub and dykes. There is a variety of breeding marshland birds.Pedestrian access by footpath between North Walsham Road and Granny Bard's Lane.

Crostwick is a village and civil parish in the district of Broadland, Norfolk, England. At the time of 2011 Census the population remained less than 100 and was included in the Civil Parish of Horstead with Stanninghall. The villages name means 'Cross clearing'.

Wroxham Football Club is a football club based in Wroxham, Norfolk, England. They are currently members of the Isthmian League North Division and play at Trafford Park.
