Main Street (Kansas City, Missouri)

The House at 5011 Sunset Drive is a historic home located in the Country Club District, Kansas City, Missouri. It was designed by architect Mary Rockwell Hook and was built in 1922–1923. It is a three-story, "L"-plan, Bungalow / American Craftsman style stone veneered dwelling with a two-story wing. It features an overhanging hipped roof with heavily bracketed eaves and an "outdoor living room".: 13–14 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures, formerly known as the Kansas City Toy and Miniature Museum, is located on the campus of the University of Missouri Kansas City. (Bequeathed to the University in the 1960s, the home was originally designed for physician Herbert Tureman in 1906 by noted architect John McKecknie and completed by 1911.) Opened in 1982, the museum today boasts the world's largest collection of fine-scale miniatures and one of the nation's largest collections of antique toys on public display. Boasting more than 33,000 square feet of exhibit space and a collection of more than 72,000 objects, the museum currently welcomes about 30,000 visitors a year. The museum has undergone two expansions in its more than 30 years of operation.At its origin, the Museum combined the toy collection of Mary Harris Francis with the fine miniature collection of Barbara Hall Marshall; the two women were avid collectors as well as lifelong friends.

The University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law is a public law school located on the main campus of the University of Missouri-Kansas City in Kansas City, Missouri, near the Country Club Plaza. It was founded in 1895 as the Kansas City School of Law, a private, independent law school located in Downtown Kansas City, and was purchased by the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1938. The law school moved to UMKC's main campus soon after, where it is accredited by the American Bar Association and is a member of the Association of American Law Schools.

The Epperson House is a historic residence located at 5200 Cherry Street in Kansas City, Missouri. The house is now part of the University of Missouri–Kansas City.

Henry W. Bloch School of Management (formerly known as Henry W. Bloch School of Business and Public Administration) is an AACSB accredited business school founded in 1952 at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in Kansas City, Missouri. It offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in Business, Accounting and Public Administration. It is named after Alumnus Henry W. Bloch, founder of H&R Block. The Bloch School also offers NASPAA accredited degrees in Public administration.

St. Teresa's Academy is a Catholic, independent secondary school for girls in Kansas City, Missouri, United States. It was founded in 1866 by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, and accredited in 1923.

The Battle of Westport, sometimes referred to as the "Gettysburg of the West", was fought on October 23, 1864, in modern Kansas City, Missouri, during the American Civil War. Union forces under Major General Samuel R. Curtis decisively defeated an outnumbered Confederate force under Major General Sterling Price. This engagement was the turning point of Price's Missouri Expedition, forcing his army to retreat. The battle ended the last major Confederate offensive west of the Mississippi River, and for the remainder of the war the United States Army maintained solid control over most of Missouri. This battle was one of the largest to be fought west of the Mississippi River, with over 30,000 men engaged.

Loose Park is the third largest park in Kansas City, Missouri, located at 51st Street and Wornall Road. It has a lake, a shelter house, Civil War markers, tennis courts, a water park, picnic areas, and a Rose Garden. The Rose Garden hosts all types of outdoor special events including theatrical performances and wedding ceremonies. The Linda Hall Library is a privately endowed American library of science, engineering and technology located in Kansas City, Missouri, sitting "majestically on a 14-acre (5.7 ha) urban arboretum." It is the "largest independently funded public library of science, engineering and technology in North America" and "among the largest science libraries in the world."

Stanley H. Durwood Soccer Stadium and Recreational Field, commonly known as Durwood Soccer Stadium or DSSRF for short, is a soccer-specific stadium on the University of Missouri–Kansas City (UMKC) campus that serves as the home of the Kansas City Roos men's and women's soccer teams. It was the home of the National Women's Soccer League's FC Kansas City during the 2014 season. The stadium has a capacity of 850 seats and has a running track around the field. The stadium opened in 2009, with an official dedication ceremony before a Kangaroos match on October 6, 2009. It is named after Stanley H. Durwood, a longtime benefactor of the university's athletic department, and his foundation contributed $5 million of the $9 million it cost to build the stadium.UMKC and FC Kansas City reached a two-year deal in January 2014 to play the team's home matches at DSSRF and to expand the seating capacity to 3,200, but after one season, the team moved to Swope Soccer Village.The stadium also hosted a 2010 U.S. Open Cup match between the Kansas City Wizards (now Sporting Kansas City) and the Colorado Rapids.

MRIGlobal is an American independent, not-for-profit, contract research organization based in Kansas City, Missouri, with regional offices in Virginia and Maryland. Swinney Recreation Center is home to UMKC Campus Recreation and is the student recreation center for UMKC. The recreation center includes a fitness center, 5 multipurpose basketball courts, several group fitness studios, 4 raquetball courts, a squash court, an indoor track, a recreational field, an outdoor track and a large aquatics center. The recreation center offers memberships for UMKC students, faculty and staff as well as community members. The recreation center also holds a 1,500-seat arena It is the home of the UMKC men's and women's basketball teams, known since the 2019–20 season as the Kansas City Roos. Under the school's previous athletic identity as the UMKC Kangaroos, the men's basketball team played there from 1969 to 1986, and again from 2010 to 2012. The men returned at the beginning of 2019. The Kansas City women's basketball team also currently plays their home games at Swinney Recreation Center. Swinney Recreation Center was originally built in 1941 as Swinney Gymnasium by what was then the University of Kansas City. It was named in honor of Edward F. Swinney, chairman of First National Bank of Kansas City (now part of Bank of America), who had donated $250,000 toward the project. Long known as "Old Swinney," it was renamed Swinney Recreation Center after a $14.5 million addition in 1988. The facility now has five basketball/volleyball courts, four racquetball courts, a 25 meter indoor/outdoor pool, and exercise rooms.The men's team played at Swinney during its days as an NAIA member, and moved to Municipal Auditorium when it joined the NCAA. However, in 2010, UMKC announced that the men's basketball team would make Swinney its primary home court. They moved back to Municipal just two years later. They returned to the Swinney Recreation Center at the beginning of 2019.
