Berviller-en-Moselle (German: Berweiler) is a commune in the Moselle department in Grand Est in northeastern France.

It is situated along the river Bist on the border with France, approx. 10 km (6.21 mi) southwest of Saarlouis, and 20 km (12.43 mi) west of Saarbrücken. It has 11,373 inhabitants (2020). At the locality Felsberg-Berus, there is the Longwave transmitter Europe 1.

The Longwave transmitter Europe 1 was the oldest privately owned radio station in Germany, situated between Felsberg and Berus/Saar, Germany. It transmitted on 183 kHz with a power of 2,000 kilowatts a French speaking programme, Europe 1 toward France. It was the highest power radio broadcasting transmitter in Germany. Longwave transmissions stopped on 31 December 2019.It was owned by Broadcasting Center Europe (BCE), a subsidiary of RTL Group. In 2020 the last masts were blown up.

Bisten is a village in the municipality of Überherrn in Saarland, Germany. It was an independent municipality until January 1974, when it was merged with Überherrn. It is situated on the river Bist, close to the border with France.

26th (Saarland) Airborne Brigade (German: Luftlandebrigade 26 "Saarland") is a formation in the Special Operations Division of the German Army with a strength of about 3,500 men and its brigade headquarters in Saarlouis. The Brigade is also called the Saarland Brigade as almost all its troops are stationed in the federal state of Saarland. Other elements are based in Rhineland-Palatinate. Most of the 26th Airborne Brigade belongs to the intervention forces of the Bundeswehr, and the formation therefore provides the overwhelming proportion of paratroopers and airborne troops for the intervention forces of the Army. The Brigade motto is: Einsatzbereit – jederzeit – weltweit ("Ready for action - anytime - worldwide"). The Brigade greeting is "Glück ab". The brigade was previously part of the 1st Airborne Division alongside the 25th and 27th Luftlande Brigades.

Wadgassen is a municipality in the district of Saarlouis, in Saarland, Germany. It is situated on the river Saar, approx. 6 km southeast of Saarlouis, and 15 km west of Saarbrücken.

The Prims is a 91 km long river in western Germany, right tributary of the Saar. It rises in the Hunsrück mountains, near the village Malborn. It flows generally south through the towns Nonnweiler, Wadern and Schmelz. It flows into the Saar in Dillingen.
