Chestnut Hill Avenue station is a light rail surface stop on the MBTA Green Line B branch, located in the median of Commonwealth Avenue just east of Chestnut Hill Avenue in the Brighton neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. Chestnut Hill Avenue has two low-level platforms, serving the B branch's two tracks; the stop is not accessible. Just to the west of the station, there is a wye connecting the B branch to non-revenue tracks that run along Chestnut Hill Avenue to Reservoir Carhouse at Cleveland Circle. The tracks are used to supply the B branch with cars before rush hour, as the carhouse at Boston College has limited storage area. The leg of the wye leading from the westbound B branch to the non-revenue tracks is out of service and paved over.

The Chestnut Hill Reservoir Historic District is a historic district encompassing the Chestnut Hill Reservoir and the surrounding water works facilities which were historically used to provide fresh water to Boston, Massachusetts, and surrounding towns. The district is nearly coextensive with the Chestnut Hill Reservation, a state park managed by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR); those elements of the water works that are still required as an emergency backup are managed by the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA). The reservoir is located between Beacon Street and Commonwealth Avenue in Boston's Chestnut Hill district, just east of the Boston College Main Campus Historic District. The Chestnut Hill Reservoir was built between 1865 and 1870 to supplement the capacity of the Brookline Reservoir, which was then the terminus of the Cochituate Aqueduct. The Sudbury Aqueduct was completed in 1878, providing water to the reservoir from the Sudbury River in Boston's western suburbs. Its terminal chamber, a single-story granite Romanesque structure with a hip roof, stands across Beacon Street from the reservoir, and houses gates for controlling flow into the reservoir from both the Cochituate Aqueduct (now defunct) and the Sudbury Aqueduct (in backup service), and from the reservoir to the Brookline Reservoir. The other major structure in the district is the high service pumping station, a massive Romanesque structure designed by Arthur Vinal in 1887, which is now a museum.The Chestnut Hill Reservoir and pumping stations were designated a Boston Landmark by the Boston Landmarks Commission in 1989.

The Strathmore Road Historic District is a residential historic district on Strathmore Road and Clinton Path in Brookline, Massachusetts. It consists of six brick apartment blocks, four of which lie on Strathmore Road, and two of which lie on Clinton Path. The two streets form a loop just south of the westernmost portion (in Brookline) of Beacon Street, and abutting the MBTA Green Line yard at Cleveland Circle. The district is reflective of the area's growth as a commuter suburb following the development of the rail line along Beacon Street (now the MBTA Green Line "C" branch), and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.Beacon Street and the rail line were extended to Cleveland Circle in the 1880s, and the area was soon developed to provide housing for commuters into Boston. Charles Newhall and George Johnston were two major developers whose projects line Beacon Street, and who were responsible for the development of Strathmore Road as well. This development took place between 1904 and 1908. The buildings are 3-1/2 story brick buildings, most designed by either James Hutchinson or Murdock Boyle. Five of the six buildings were built by Johnston; only 1 Clinton Path was built by Newhall. They are built with consistent setbacks, large enough to provide each building with a small front yard, and with sufficient space to allow for the planting of trees.The basic styling of most of the buildings is either Federal or Classical Revival. Typical features include limestone wedges above the windows, and cornices with dentil molding and modillions. Two of the buildings (40 Strathmore and 1 Clinton) are Romanesque in style, using rusticated brownstone and with round-arched entries.
