Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv

The Red University Building (Ukrainian: Червоний корпус Київського університету; translit.: Chervonyi Korpus Kyivskoho Universytetu) is the principal and oldest 4-story building of the Kyiv University located at 60 Volodymyrska Street, in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. This building is a famous symbol of the Kyiv University and the Ukrainian fundamental higher educational system.

The Maksymovych Scientific Library is the main scientific library of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. The library is located in Kyiv, Volodymyrska str., 58 near the Red building of the University of Kyiv and it was founded in 1834 along with the University.

Kyiv Medical University is a Ukrainian higher educational institution. Established in 1992, about 3,500 people study at the university.

The Khanenko Museum (official name: The Bohdan and Varvara Khanenko National Museum of Arts) is an art museum located in Kyiv, in Ukraine, which holds the biggest and most valuable collections of European, Asian and Ancient art in the country. The museum was established in 1919 according to the will of art collector Bohdan Khanenko (1917) and the deed of gift to the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences signed by his wife Varvara in 1918. The art collection of Bohdan and Varvara Khanenko, distinguished Ukrainian collectors and philanthropists of the late 19th and the early 20th century, is the core of the museum's holdings. The museum comprises two late 19th-century buildings of great historical and artistic value located on Tereshchenkivska Street. The Khanenkos' mansion houses the permanent exhibition of European fine and decorative arts from the 14th through the 18th century. A group of unique early Byzantine "Sinai" icons created in the 6th and the 7th century has been on display in a separate room of the building since 2004. On the first floor of the mansion is the permanent exhibition of Ancient art. The other museum building located nearby was the property of the Sakhnovskys, the Khanenkos' close relatives, until 1919. Since 2006, it has housed the permanent exhibition of Asian art. The four rooms are dedicated to the art of Buddhism and Islam as well as that of China and Japan. The Khanenko Museum's collection includes original artworks by outstanding European masters, such as Pieter Paul Rubens, Gentile Bellini, Juan de Zurbarán, Jacques-Louis David, François Boucher. The museum holds highly valuable collections of European sculpture and decorative art, beautiful and rare pieces of Iranian, Tibetan, Chinese and Japanese fine and decorative art, as well as small but worthwhile collections of Ancient Greek, Roman and Egyptian art. In total, the Khanenko Museum's holdings comprise more than 25 000 items. Almost 1000 selected artworks are displayed permanently.

The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NASU; Ukrainian: Національна академія наук України, Natsional’na akademiya nauk Ukrayiny, abbr: NAN Ukraine) is a self-governing state-funded organization in Ukraine that is the main center of development of science and technology by coordinating a system of research institutes in the country. It is the main research oriented organization along with the five other academies in Ukraine specialized in various scientific disciplines. NAS Ukraine consists of numerous departments, sections, research institutes, scientific centers and various other supporting scientific organizations. The Academy reports on the annual basis to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. The presidium of the academy is located at vulytsia Volodymyrska, 57, across the street from the Building of Pedagogical Museum, which was used to host the Central Council during the independence period of 1917-18. In 1919–1991 it was a republican branch of the Academy of Sciences of the Soviet Union.

The Kyiv City Teacher's House (Ukrainian: Київський міський будинок учителя) also known as the Central Council House (Ukrainian: Будинок Центральної Ради) is a historical building located at 57 Volodymyrska Street, in Kyiv, Ukraine. The building is located next to the "Yellow Building" of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and the Presidium Building of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Currently, it is mainly occupied by the Ukrainian Trade Union of workers of Education and Science in Kyiv. It also houses the Pedagogical museum, the museum of Ukrainian Revolution (1917-1920), the State Pedagogical and Science Library of Sukhomlynsky, and the Cultural Center "Kyianochka". Both museums are located on the second floor. The building was constructed during the Imperial era in 1909-1911 by Pavlo Alyoshyn.

The Central Council of Ukraine (Ukrainian: Українська Центральна Рада, Ukrayins'ka Tsentral'na rada) (also called the Tsentralna Rada or the Central Rada) was the All-Ukrainian council (soviet) that united deputies of soldiers, workers, and peasants deputies as well as few members of political, public, cultural and professional organizations of the Ukrainian People's Republic. After the All-Ukrainian National Congress (19–21 April 1917), the Council became the revolutionary parliament in the interbellum lasting until the Ukrainian-Soviet War. Unlike many other councils (soviets) in the Russian Republic, bolshevization of this soviet failed completely, causing members of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party (Bolsheviks) in Ukraine, also known as Social-Democracy of Ukraine, to relocate to Kharkiv.

St Volodymyr's Cathedral (Ukrainian: Володимирський собор) is a cathedral in the centre of Kyiv. It is one of the city's major landmarks and the mother cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church – Kyiv Patriarchate, one of the churches of Orthodox tradition in Ukraine.

The Embassy of Germany in Kyiv is Germany's diplomatic mission to Ukraine. The Federal Republic of Germany has since 1989 been officially represented in Ukraine, first by the Consulate General in Kyiv, since January 1992, after the Ukrainian independence in 1991, with a diplomatic mission. Since March 2000, an honorary consul in Lviv also represents the interests of the Federal Republic of Germany. In July 2008, another honorary consul was appointed in Odessa, followed by an additional consulate general in Donetsk since the summer of 2009.

National Museum Taras Shevchenko (Ukrainian: Націона́льний музе́й Тара́са Шевче́нка) is a museum in Kyiv, the capital city of Ukraine, dedicated to the life and work of the painter and national poet, Taras Shevchenko.

The Kyiv Opera group was formally established in the summer of 1867, and is the third oldest in Ukraine, after Odessa Opera and Lviv Opera. The Kyiv Opera Company perform at the National Opera House of Ukraine named after Taras Shevchenko in Kyiv. The opera in 2 acts, Natalka Poltavka, was the last scheduled performance before the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Kyiv Opera House, officially the National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre of Ukraine named after Taras Shevchenko (Ukrainian: Національний академічний театр опери та балету України імені Тараса Шевченка), is an opera house in Kyiv, Ukraine. It is the home of the National Opera of Ukraine. The building is located at the junction between Volodymyrska Street and Bohdana Khmelnytskoho Street. Designed by the Russian architect Victor Schröter with an exterior in the Renaissance Revival style, it was opened in 1901, replacing an earlier structure, the City Theatre, that had been established in 1856, but destroyed by fire in 1896. On 1 September 1911, the Russian Prime Minister Pyotr Stolypin was mortally wounded in the opera house after an assailant shot him during a visit to the opera, and it was where the First Universal of the Ukrainian Central Council on Ukraine's autonomy was proclaimed in June 1917.
