KYOZ (1330 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in Spokane, Washington, owned by Tom Hodgins and Christopher Jacky, through licensee Xana Oregon, LLC. It airs a Regional Mexican radio format, known as "Ke Buena 95.7." KYOZ has a daytime power of 5,000 watts. But to protect other stations on AM 1330, it drastically drops its nighttime power to 23 watts. It uses a non-directional antenna at all times. The transmitter is on East 42nd Avenue near Regal Avenue in Spokane.Listeners can hear KYOZ around the clock on FM translator K239CL at 95.7 MHz, powered at 210 watts. On October 29, 2021, KYJJ (94.1), licensed to Boardman, Oregon and serving the Tri-Cities, went on the air as a brand-new license won months earlier as a part of the FCC's Auction 109, simulcasting KYOZ.

Southgate is a neighborhood in Spokane, Washington. It is located in the southwestern corner of the City of Spokane and part of the broader area known locally as the South Hill. Southgate is one of the newer neighborhoods in the city, with development first taking hold in the post-World War II housing boom and continuing into the present day. It is a mix of single-family residential, multi-family residential and commercial districts. The neighborhood has grown as Spokane has expanded southward, with multiple annexations expanding Southgate and the city since 2000 and as recently as 2016.

Joel E. Ferris High School (also known as Ferris High School) is a four-year public high school in Spokane, Washington, part of Spokane Public Schools. In southeast Spokane's Southgate neighborhood, it was built at a cost of $3,235,861 and opened on September 3, 1963. The school was named in 1961 for Joel E. Ferris (1874–1960), a banker and civic leader in Spokane. Joel Ferris was a member of the Spokane Park Board, Spokane Finch Arboretum Committee, and a number of educational boards and historical societies in eastern Washington.The school colors are scarlet and silver and the mascot is a Saxon. The school is also the location of the studios of KSPS-TV, a PBS member station owned by the school board, which serves eastern Washington and surrounding states, as well as enjoying significant viewership in the province of Alberta, Canada.Beginning in 2005, the school underwent a major redevelopment, designed by NAC Architecture, with nearly the entire campus having been rebuilt. The project took most out of the school district's 320 million dollar project for all schools.

KFIO (1050 kHz) is an AM radio station licensed to Dishman, Washington and serves the greater Spokane media market. The station is owned by Thomas R. Read, through licensee Liberty Broadcasting System, LLC.The station broadcasts in the daytime at 25,000 watts but at night it must reduce power to 260 watts; that is because 1050 kHz is assigned as a clear channel frequency reserved for Mexico, so it cannot use a higher power that might interfere with Mexican radio stations.

KXLX (700 AM) is a radio station licensed to Airway Heights, Washington and broadcasting to the Spokane area. The Morgan Murphy Media station broadcasts at 10 kW day and 600 watts at night. KXLX is an affiliate of ESPN Radio and is also the home station of the Eastern Washington Eagles football team.

KXLY uses a non-directional antenna, from a transmitter site off South Regal Street in Spokane. By day, it operates with a power of 20,000 watts, which is reduced to 5,000 watts at night to protect other stations on 920 AM from interference. Programming is also carried on 250-watt FM translator K264CH at 100.7 MHz.

KMBI-FM (107.9 MHz) is a non-profit radio station in Spokane, Washington. It broadcasts a Christian talk and teaching radio format and is owned by the Moody Bible Institute of Chicago. KMBI-FM serves as the flagship station of the Moody Radio Northwest network, serving Eastern Washington, Northeastern Oregon, Northern Idaho, Western Montana and Northwestern Wyoming. The network holds periodic fundraisers on the air to support the broadcasts. Local programming includes Dawn and Steve, a weekday morning program. National religious leaders heard on KMBI-FM include John MacArthur, Jim Daly, Janet Parshall, David Jeremiah and Chuck Swindoll. KMBI-FM's transmitter is off East Henry Road in Freeman, Washington. It is one of seven local Spokane FM radio stations heard across Canada to subscribers of the Shaw Direct satellite TV service.

Lincoln Heights is a neighborhood in Spokane, Washington. It is located in the southeastern portion of the city in a broader area commonly known as the South Hill. As the name suggests, Lincoln Heights lies on the slopes and atop the crest of the South Hill area. Lincoln Heights is home to a mix of single-family residential, multi-family residential, and commercial areas and a significant amount of park land. The Lincoln Heights Shopping Center and surrounding area is one of the largest and most important commercial and retail districts on the entire south side of Spokane.

The 1944 PGA Championship was the 26th PGA Championship, held August 14–20 at Manito Golf and Country Club in Spokane, Washington. Then a match play championship, Bob Hamilton won his only major title, 1 up in the 36-hole final over heavily favored Byron Nelson; the winner's share was $3,500 and the runner-up's was $1,500. Hamilton defeated Jug McSpaden 2 & 1 in the quarterfinals and George Schneiter 1 up in the semifinals.It was Nelson's third runner-up finish (1939, 1941, 1944); he won the title in 1940 and 1945. Nelson was the medalist in the stroke play qualifier with a 6-under 138.This was the first PGA Championship in two years, it was not contested in 1943. Sam Snead won in 1942, but did not defend his title; he was at the naval hospital in San Diego for treatment for his ailing back, and received a medical discharge from the U.S. Navy a month later.The event was sponsored by the Athletic Round Table, Spokane's notable fun and benevolence organization headed by attorney Joe Albi. Following this event, the ART sponsored the Esmeralda Open, a PGA Tour event in 1945 and 1947, and the first U.S. Women's Open in 1946, all held in Spokane. The PGA Championship was the sole major played in 1944 (and 1945); the three others returned in 1946. This was the first major championship played in the Pacific Northwest. The PGA Championship was played in Portland in 1946, and at Sahalee, east of Seattle, in 1998. The first U.S. Open in the region was played in 2015 at Chambers Bay, southwest of Tacoma.

Manito Golf and Country Club is a country club in the northwest United States, located in Spokane, Washington. The club was founded in 1917 at Hart Field by a small group of dedicated golf enthusiasts and moved to its current location in the Comstock neighborhood in 1922. It was known as Manito Golf Club until 1935.Its golf course hosted the PGA Championship in 1944, then match play, in which Bob Hamilton upset favored Byron Nelson in the final. The course was designed by A.V. Macan, and was set at 6,330 yards (5,788 m) in late 1921. The back tees are now at 6,470 yards (5,916 m) at par 71, with a course rating of 70.8 and a slope rating of 134.The elevation at the clubhouse is approximately 2,380 feet (725 m) above sea level.

Rockwood is a neighborhood in Spokane, Washington. It is located on the south side of the city to the southeast of Downtown Spokane and expanding southeasterly from close to the city center. Its proximity to downtown makes it one of Spokane's older neighborhoods, with mature trees lining most of its streets. Due to its location on the hill leading up from the Spokane River Valley, the street grid breaks down in many places around Rockwood. The most notable of these is along the winding Rockwood Boulevard, which bends its way from the northwesternmost corner of the neighborhood through the center and across to the eastern border. It is one of the more affluent neighborhoods in the Spokane community. Many old, large homes are located in Rockwood, and unlike many of the other old neighborhoods surrounding the Spokane city center, the vast majority of the large homes in Rockwood continue to serve as single-family housing.

Glenrose is an unincorporated community in Spokane County, Washington, United States. It is a rural and suburban community split between sections of farmland with many canola fields and new construction of single-family homes. The community is bounded by mountains on two sides and the Spokane urban area on the other two.
