Baarle-Hertog

Baarle-Nassau (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌbaːrlə ˈnɑsʌu] ) is a municipality and town in the southern Netherlands, located in the province of North Brabant. It had a population of 6,899 in 2019. The town is the site of a complicated borderline between Belgium and the Netherlands: it encloses 22 small exclaves of the Belgian town Baarle-Hertog, of which the two largest contain seven counter-enclaves of Baarle-Nassau, and the main body of Belgium contains another.

Baarle (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈbaːrlə] ) is a village in Northwestern Europe which consists of a patchwork of Belgian and Dutch territories. The Belgian parts of the village are called Baarle-Hertog and the Dutch elements are called Baarle-Nassau. The Belgian part includes 16 exclaves within Dutch territory. The exclaves, in turn, surround seven Dutch areas. Belgian territory also surrounds an eighth Dutch area near Ginhoven. In 1995, the border was finalized to include a formerly neutral grassland. Baarle also includes a quadripoint shared by two of the exclaves. The line of the border means that some buildings (for instance, a branch of the retail store Zeeman) straddle both countries. For these properties, the voordeurregel (literally: "front door rule") policy applies: their address lies in the country that contains their front door. The exception is a house on Loveren Street with both Belgian (No. 2) and Dutch (No. 19) house numbers, whose front door is on the border line itself. For convenience, every house number plaque shows a national flag.

Heikant or Oordeel Heikant is a hamlet in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is a part of the municipality of Baarle-Nassau, and lies about 15 km south of Tilburg. This Heikant (the name means "heath edge") should not be confused with the other hamlet of the same name lying 8 km to the west and also in Baarle-Nassau, or with any of the dozens of other Heikants in the Netherlands and Belgium. Heikant is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Baarle-Nassau. It consists of about 20 house.

Alphen-Chaam (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌɑlfə(ŋ) ˈxaːm] ) is a municipality in the southern Netherlands.

Alphen is a village in the municipality of Alphen-Chaam, in the Netherlands. It is located about 12 km southwest of Tilburg.

't Zand (Dutch pronunciation: [(ə)t sɑnt]) is a hamlet in the Dutch province of North Brabant, in the municipality of Alphen-Chaam. It was first mentioned in 1980 and means sand. 't Zand is a villa ward and recreational site near Alphen. There are no place name signs. It consists of about 100 houses excluding the holiday homes.In 1939, a little chapel dedicated to Saint Willibrord was erected on the Oude Maastrichtsebaan in 't Zand. According to legend, Willibrord baptised people from Alphen near a well and it turned into a site of pilgrimage. Father Binck together with the archaeologist Joan Willems set out to find the spot and discovered a 2.5 metres (8 ft 2 in) loam well in the forest. It was restored in stone and a chapel was built on top of the well. The chapel was destroyed in 1945, and rebuilt in 1946.

Het Sas (Dutch pronunciation: [(ɦ)ət ˈsɑs]) is a hamlet in the municipality Alphen-Chaam in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located southwest of Alphen. Het Sas is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Alphen. It was first mentioned in 1838 as Het Sas, and means sluice in the river Leije. The hamlet consists of about 15 houses.

Zondereigen (Dutch pronunciation: [zondərˈɛiˌxə(n)] is a village in the municipality of Baarle-Hertog, in the province of Antwerp, Belgium. In 2021, it was home to 478 inhabitants. Zondereigen borders the Dutch province of North Brabant, and contains a Dutch enclave.

Weelde Air Base (ICAO: EBWE) is a NATO reserve airfield located in Weelde, a village in the Ravels municipality in Belgium. It is operated by the Belgian Air Component that has no military flight operations at that location, besides aircraft arriving to be stored or leaving storage, for example retired F-16 aircraft. The Belgian Air Component also uses the airfield for the activities of the Belgian Air Cadets. Weelde Air Base is also publicly accessible as a light general aviation field and home to the gliding club "Kempische Aero Club".

Alphen en Riel is a former municipality in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It covered the villages of Alphen and Riel. In 1997, the municipality was divided between the new municipality of Alphen-Chaam, and the municipality of Goirle.

Weelde is a village in the municipality of Ravels, in the province of Antwerp, Belgium. As of 2021, it has 4,879 inhabitants. Until 1977 Weelde was an independent municipality. The town hall of the municipality of Ravels and the municipal services are located in Weelde. NATO reserve airfield Weelde Air Base is situated in Weelde.

Ulicoten is a village in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is a part of the municipality of Baarle-Nassau and is situated about 16 kilometres (9.9 mi) south of Breda.
