Garforth Academy (formerly known as Garforth Comprehensive School until September 1992 and Garforth Community College until November 2010) is a secondary school and sixth form for pupils aged 11–18 and is located on Lidgett Lane (B6137) in Garforth, West Yorkshire, England. The school been awarded the Artsmark (2002), Investors in People Award, (2003), Schools Achievement Award, (2003), Education Extra award, (2001), Sportsmark (2002), and Beacon School status (2000), and OFSTED described the school in 2010 (before it changed to academy status) as an "outstanding school".

Garforth railway station serves the town of Garforth in West Yorkshire, England. It is one of the two stations in Garforth the other being East Garforth which is situated about 0.5 miles (800 metres) east from the main station and which was opened in 1987. It lies on the Selby Line. Garforth is 7.1 miles (11.5 km) east of Leeds and 16 miles (26 km) south-west of York. The station is served by Northern and TransPennine Express services.

East Garforth railway station serves Garforth in West Yorkshire, England. It is on the Selby Line, and operated by Northern. The station was opened by West Yorkshire Metro in May 1987. The station is an unstaffed halt, and has wooden platforms with shelters on each one. It is located around 0.5 miles (800 m) from the main Garforth station.

Garforth Town Association Football Club is a football club based in Garforth, West Yorkshire, England. They are members of the Northern Counties East League Premier Division and play at Wheatley Park.

Sturton Grange is a civil parish in the City of Leeds in West Yorkshire, England. It has a population of 417, reducing to 403 at the 2011 Census.Most of the parish area is used for agriculture. Soft fruit is grown here at an industrial scale. Population is concentrated in the northwest near the boundary with Garforth. The M1 motorway passes through the northern parts of the parish, the Leeds to Selby railway through the southern parts. Garforth Airfield is located north of the railway near the centre of the parish area.

Elmet and Rothwell is a constituency in West Yorkshire represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since its creation in 2010 by Alec Shelbrooke, a Conservative. In the 2017 general election, Elmet and Rothwell recorded the largest turnout of any seat in West or South Yorkshire, with almost 60,000 electors casting a vote. There is no town of Elmet: the name refers to an ancient Celtic kingdom in the area. The name is however referenced by local villages Barwick-in-Elmet and Scholes-in-Elmet, and also Sherburn in Elmet which is nearby but outside the constituency. The seat is due to be abolished for the next general election.

Elmet was a county constituency in West Yorkshire represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It elected one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. From 1997 the MP was Colin Burgon of Labour, who did not stand in the 2010 general election.

Kippax is a village and civil parish in the City of Leeds metropolitan borough, West Yorkshire, England. It is situated to the east of the city, near to Garforth and Great Preston. The Kippax and Methley ward of Leeds City Council was part of the former UK Parliament constituency of Elmet, which became Elmet and Rothwell at the 2010 UK general election. The population of Kippax parish at the 2011 Census was 9,785. Kippax was a separate civil parish, in Tadcaster Rural District, until 1939, when it was annexed to Garforth. It re-acquired civil parish status and a parish council on 1 April 2004.

Kippax railway station was a railway station on the Castleford–Garforth line in West Yorkshire, England. The station opened in 1878 and closed to passengers in 1951, although the line remained open for a further 18 years for diversions and goods traffic.
