Chalèze (French pronunciation: ​[ʃalɛz]) is a commune in the Doubs department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region in eastern France.

The Château de la Juive (in English: Castle of the Jewess; official name: Château de Clementigney), is a residential château located in the French city of Besançon (Franche-Comté). The first building was constructed at an unknown date, the earliest information going back to the 18th century. In the 19th century, a rich Jewish family (the Lippmans, founders of the LIP company) bought the house and transformed it into a luxurious villa. Since then, the castle of Clementigney has been known as the castle of the Jewish. From 1850 to 1870, the architect Alphonse Delacroix reconstructed the building in Gothic Revival style. Beginning in the 1920s, the villa accommodated a famous restaurant, up until the early 21st century. Today, the castle is a residential building. It is classified as an official historical monument of France since 2002.

Clairs-Soleils is a small area on Besançon's east side, near the quarters of Bregille and Orchamps. The quarter has about 3000 inhabitants.

Orchamps is a neighbourhood in the south-east of the city of Besançon, France. Like nearby Clairs-Soleils and Planoise, to the west of the city, Orchamps was built in the late 1960s. It is situated close to Bregille. For education, the neighbourhood is served by the Édouard Herriot public kindergarten and the Édouard Herriot public primary school. For transport, it is served by bus routes 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 22, 32, 35, 71, 72, 73, 74 and 75.

The Champs Bruley cemetery is a municipal cemetery located in Besançon (France) between the Chaprais, Bregille, Clairs-Soleis and Vaîtes districts. Opened in 1793 and still active as of 2019, it is the oldest burial ground managed by the city.The cemetery, when constructed, was intended for use by any inhabitant of the area. Because it did not have a nearby Catholic church, and also because the site has an uneven topography and was viewed at the time as being isolated, the predominantly Catholic Bisontin community did not use it. This led to it being viewed as a burial ground for "undesirable citizens": The sick, condemned prisoners and non-Catholics. Over time, it was seen as a de facto Lutheran-only burial ground and in 1824 was officially designated as a Lutheran cemetery, following the construction of the Chaprais Cemetery. It became the official cemetery for parish burials until the neutrality laws of 1881. Although it is now legally available to people of all religions, the Champs Bruley remains a predominantly Lutheran cemetery.

Bregille (French pronunciation: ​[bʁəʒij]) is a district of the French city of Besançon, located on the right bank of the Doubs, south-east of the historic center. It has developed on the eponymous hill Bregille which culminates at 458 meters, almost 200 meters above the river level. It has about 6 500 inhabitants in the early 2000s.

Vaites or The Vaites is a district of Besançon, located to the northeast of the city.
