Restaurant De Lindehof is a restaurant located in Nuenen, in the Netherlands. It is a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in the periods 1992–1995, 2004–2014, and is awarded a second star since 2015.Gault Millau awarded the restaurant 17 out of 20 points.Owner and head chef of De Lindehof is Soenil Bahadoer. He bought the restaurant in 1995. Gerard Holtslag sold it after the departure of Gerard Wollerich, who was awarded the Michelin star in 1992.De Lindehof is a member of Les Patrons Cuisiniers.In 2012, the restaurant joined in at the "No Waste"-trend. To prevent having to throw away food due to their summer closure, it organized a so-called "Kliekjes Avond" (Scrap Night). All guest could only order a surprisemenu, what gave the kitchen the opportunity to vary the dishes when the supplies were running out.

De Roosdonck is a windmill located at the Gerwenseweg 2 in Nuenen, in the province of North Brabant, Netherlands. Built in 1884, the windmill was initially planned to be built as a smock mill. After the structure collapsed soon after completion, the mill was rebuilt to the current "beltmolen" type, with a pile of sand put around the mill allowing it to be built higher. Vincent van Gogh, who lived in Nuenen from 1883 to 1885, painted and drew De Roosdonck a total of 7 times. The most famous painting in his Nuenen period, The Potato Eaters, was painted in the neighbouring cottage. The windmill was built by Antonius van Himbergen from nearby Bladel, who has also built the Annemie windmill in Acht, and other similar type windmills in the area. From 1887 to 1930 the windmill was also used as an oil mill, with the machinery bought from the miller of Sint Victor in Heeze. Due to industrialisation and the introduction of other sources of energy, professional production of flower stopped in 1959. The mill deteriorated. After purchase by the local government in 1970, the windmill was restored in 1972, with further restorations in 1984 and 1996. Since 1995 the windmill has been in private hands once again, with the son of the last professional miller as its owner. Also since that year the windmill has been open for visitors, selling a wide range of organic flour products.

Nuenen, Gerwen en Nederwetten (pronounced [ˈnynə(ŋ) ˈɣɛrʋə(n) ɛˌneːdərˈʋɛtə(n)] (listen)) is a municipality consisting of the larger village of Nuenen and two adjacent smaller ones. It is located in the province of North Brabant, about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) east of Eindhoven, the fifth largest city in the Netherlands. From being a small farmers town of less than 1000 inhabitants around 1950 Nuenen grew steadily as ever more new employees of Philips and the Eindhoven University (TUE) chose Nuenen as their new home.

Nuenen en Gerwen was a municipality in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It covered the villages of Nuenen and Gerwen. The municipality existed until 1821, when the village of Nederwetten (until then part of Nederwetten en Eckart) was added to form the new municipality of Nuenen, Gerwen en Nederwetten.

Laar is a hamlet in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located in the municipality of Nuenen, Gerwen en Nederwetten, 2 km north of the town of Nuenen, just northwest of Gerwen.Laar is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Nuenen. Laar has no place name signs, and consists of about 25 houses.It was first mentioned in 1406 as "ex bonis te laar", and means "forest pasture".

The Watermill at Opwetten (Dutch: Opwettense watermolen) is a watermill along the river Kleine Dommel, located on the Opwettenseweg 203 in Opwetten, Nuenen, Gerwen en Nederwetten, in the province of North Brabant, Netherlands. First mentioned in the 11th century, the watermill burned down and was rebuilt in 1764. There have been several buildings in the watermill complex. One building was a gristmill and sawmill, while another functioned as oil mill and fulling mill. The mill operated two undershot water wheels, including the largest water wheel in the Netherlands. The gristmill is still in functioning order and is used on a small scale, the building of the former oil and fulling mill now houses a restaurant. A tannery was located in a building in the back and up to 1910 an inn was located in the miller's house. Vincent van Gogh lived nearby and made several paintings while in the area, including a painting of the mill in 1884. The watermill was listed as a national monument in 1972.

First mentioned in the 14th century, the watermill burned down and was rebuilt in 1681. The watermill complex was made up out of two buildings, operating two undershot water wheels. One building was a gristmill, while another functioned as oil mill. The gristmill and oil mill are both still in functioning order and are used on a small scale. Vincent van Gogh lived nearby and made several paintings while in the area, including a painting of the mill in 1884. The watermill was listed as a national monument in 1972.

Nederwetten en Eckart was a municipality in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It included the villages of Nederwetten and Eckart, the latter of which no longer exists; it is now a part of Eindhoven. The municipality existed until 1821. In that year, Nederwetten became part of the municipality of Nuenen, Gerwen en Nederwetten, and Eckart merged with Woensel.

Tongelre is a borough of Eindhoven. It used to be a separate village to the east of Eindhoven. Waterways comprise most of its borders. It is bordered to the south by a canal, the "Eindhovensch Kanaal" to the borough of Stratum and Geldrop municipality. In the northwest the border with Woensel borough is formed by the river "Dommel" and to the east by the river "Kleine Dommel" (little Dommel) towards Nuenen municipality. Tongelre was a separate municipality until 1920, when it became part of the municipality of Eindhoven. Today it has nearly 20.000 inhabitants. It is the least urbanised part of Eindhoven.

Breugel is a village in the Dutch province of North Brabant, in the municipality of Son en Breugel. Breugel lies east of the river Dommel and north of the Wilhelmina Canal.

De Karpendonkse Hoeve is a restaurant located in Eindhoven in the Netherlands. It is a fine dining restaurant that has been awarded one Michelin star every year since 1979.Head chef is Peter Koehn. In 1980, Koehn took over from Peter Willems, who had earned the Michelin star in 1979. In September 2017, Koehn announced his upcoming retirement and that the second head chef Rob van der Veeken would take over.Present owner is Ingrid van Eeghem. In 2004 she took over the ownership of her father Leo van Eeghem, who had founded the restaurant in 1973.Van Eeghen regularly invites other chefs to show off their cooking qualities. Guest chefs include Paula DaSilva, runner up of Hell's Kitchen (U.S. season 5) and the Japanese chef Katsumasa Kitajima, known for kaiseki ryōri cuisine.In 2007, De Karpendonkse Hoeve celebrated their 30th Michelin star in a row and in 2014 their 35th.

The Berenkuil (known officially as Insulindeplein) is a traffic circle in the Dutch city of Eindhoven, near the campus of the Eindhoven University of Technology. An outer circle for automotive traffic surrounds a second sunken circle for bicycles and motorscooters; ramps from the bicycle lanes along the nearby streets lead into the lower circle via four underpasses. This design for a traffic circle is one that is called a berenkuil (meaning bear pit) in the Netherlands. Insulindeplein is part of the Eindhoven ring road and connects the center of Eindhoven to the highway to Helmond. It's also the access road in northern and southern directions, and forms the crossroads of many bicycle paths, bicycle crossings and pedestrian tunnels. The Berenkuil is also well known in Eindhoven for another reason: it has been designated a freezone for graffiti artists, where they can paint graffiti without interference from the police. As a result, artists have created several large and impressive works on the walls and the area has become an unofficial open-air museum. On 11 and 12 September 2010, the Berenkuil was the stage for the international graffiti festival "Step In The Arena", which was held again on 9 and 10 July 2011.
