Bergen Tramway

Bergen Technical Museum (Norwegian: Bergens Tekniske Museum) is a technical museum located at Møhlenpris in Bergen, Norway. It is owned and run by various local membership groups with each their own specialized collections, which is collectively displayed in an old tram depot. The museum is the starting place and acts as a depot for Bergen's Electric Tramway, which runs a heritage tramway service. The collections also include the two old funicular cars from Fløibanen and one of four preserved NSB Di 2 locomotives.

Bergen's Electric Tramway (Norwegian: Bergens Elektriske Sporvei) is an organization which operates a museum tramway in Møhlenpris in Bergen, Norway. The tramway is an attempt at a revival of the Bergen Tramway, which operated from 1897–1965. The tramway is based at Bergen Technical Museum. This building has recently been awarded heritage status and a large sum of money has been spent on renovations on the roof. Although the line is currently only 300 m long, an expansion to Den Nationale Scene is under construction. Further, more ambitious plans include lines to Bryggen and St Mary's Church, Nordnes and Bergen Aquarium, and VilVite.

Møhlenpris (formerly Vestre Sydnes) is a neighbourhood in the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. It is next to the Puddefjorden in the borough of Bergenhus. The neighbourhood is named after Jørgen Thor Møhlen, who was a shipowner, slave trader, innovator and businessman who established some industry at Møhlenpris in the late 17th century. Most of the buildings date from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The Human Rights House of Bergen (also known as the Rafto Human Rights House) is based in Bergen, Norway. It is located near the student centre (Studentsenteret) of the University of Bergen and is owned and operated by the Egil Rafto House Foundation.The Human Rights House is a unit of the international network established by the Human Rights House Foundation. It was established in memory of journalist Egil Rafto (1951–1997) who was the son of Professor Thorolf Rafto (1922–1986), lecturer in economics at the Norwegian School of Economics. Egil Rafto were a co-founders of the Rafto Foundation for Human Rights which was founded during 1986 in honor of his father. Thorolf Rafto had been strongly active in the international fight for human rights.The Human Rights House of Bergen was opened in 1999 by Kim Aris who is the youngest son of Burmese diplomat Aung San Suu Kyi and British historian Michael Aris (1946–1999). Rafto Foundation for Human Rights and several other organizations have permanent offices in the house, such as Amnesty International, AFS Intercultural Learning, Médecins Sans Frontières, and Norwegian Church Aid's Youth. Other groups can the house for seminars, meetings, or social events.

Bergen Student-TV (BSTV) is a local community television station based in Bergen, Norway. The channel's main purpose is to deliver news and entertainment to students of Bergen. The employees are students, working voluntarily to get more media experience. Until 2009 BSTV had weekly shows on the local broadcaster BTV. The station also broadcasts some programs online. In addition some of the material produced is sent on the national community TV network, Frikanalen. The number of active members was around 80 in September 2011. The members are working with reporting, entertainment, photo and editing, multi-camera broadcast, web-design, graphics and public relations. In the spring of 2011 bstv.no had 25,000 viewers. In 2004 BSTV made national headlines when the host of the show appeared drunk on television.

The Puddefjord Bridge (Norwegian: Puddefjordsbroen) is an arch bridge in Bergen, Norway. The reinforced concrete bridge consists of two directly adjacent, near-identical bridges, the first of which was built in 1956 and the second in 1999. Norwegian National Road RV 555 crosses Puddefjord bridge over Damsgårdssundet into the tunnels Løvstakk tunnel (Løvstakktunnelen) to Fyllingsdalen and Damsgårds tunnel (Damsgårdstunnelen) to Laksevåg. The bridge carries six lanes of motor vehicles and two cycle/footpaths across the Puddefjorden in central Bergen, between Møhlenpris in the city centre and Gyldenpris in Årstad borough. Although it does not have official motorway status, it is an important part of the city's motorway network, linking the westbound motorway, Sotraveien, to European route E39.The bridge was important in the development of the valley of Fyllingsdalen, which was annexed by Bergen in 1955. It also served as a more convenient road to the city centre for the residents of Laksevåg, who prior to its construction had to drive through Danmarksplass or take the ferry across the Puddefjord.As of 2012, the bridge carried a daily average traffic of 56,098 vehicles.

The University Museum of Bergen (Norwegian: Universitetsmuseet i Bergen) is a university museum in Bergen, Norway. The museum features material related to anthropology, archaeology, botany, geology, zoology, art, and cultural history.

The Urdi House (Norwegian: Urdihuset or simply Urdi) is a manor house in the Gyldenpris neighborhood just outside downtown Bergen, Norway. It is located at Michael Krohn Street (Michael Krohns gate) no. 62. The house is a prime example of late Empire style architecture. The architect that designed the house is uncertain, but it has been attributed to the town surveyor Ole Peter Riis Høegh, who was active in the town between 1834 and 1848. The Urdi House received protected status in 1927.

Hulen ('The Cave') is a student-driven rock club in Bergen, Norway, that opened on 17 May 1969. Hulen has its premises in an old bomb shelter below Nygårdshøyden in the city center of Bergen. The shelter is rented from the Norwegian Civil Defence. During its 40 years of existence Hulen has been threatened with bankruptcy etc., but has managed to continue because of their volunteers and supporters.

The University of Bergen (Norwegian: Universitetet i Bergen, Urban East Norwegian: [ʉnɪvæʂɪˈtèːtə ɪ ˈbæ̀rɡn̩]) is a research-intensive state university located in Bergen, Norway. As of 2019, the university has over 4,000 employees and 18,000 students. It was established by an act of parliament in 1946 based on several older scientific institutions dating back to 1825, and is Norway's second oldest university. It is considered one of Norway's four "established universities" and has faculties and programmes in all the fields of a classical university including fields that are traditionally reserved by law for established universities, including medicine and law. It is also one of Norway's leading universities in many natural sciences, including marine research and climate research. It is consistently ranked in the top one percentage among the world's universities, usually among the best 200 universities and among the best 10 or 50 universities worldwide in some fields such as earth and marine sciences. It is part of the Coimbra Group and of the U5 group of Norway's oldest and highest ranked universities.

The Centre for Medieval Studies at the University of Bergen, Norway was founded as a Centre of Excellence by the Research Council of Norway. It operated from 2002 to 2012.The organization's site defined its goal as: "to enhance our understanding of Europe as a whole, in the Middle Ages as well as today, from a peripheral point of view". It was headed by Sverre Bagge.

St. John's Church (Norwegian: Johanneskirken) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Bergen Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the Sydnes area of the city of Bergen. It is one of the five churches for the Bergen Cathedral parish which is part of the Bergen domprosti (arch-deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The red brick church was built in a cruciform design between 1891 and 1894 in the Gothic Revival style. The architect was Herman Backer. The church seats about 1250 people, making it the largest church in Bergen. It was consecrated on 15 March 1894.
