A.T. Still University - School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona (ATSU-SOMA) is a private medical school in Mesa, Arizona. It was established in 2007 as the Arizona campus of A.T. Still University. A.T. Still University (ATSU) is the original founding institution of osteopathic healthcare, established in 1892 by Andrew Taylor Still in Kirksville, Missouri. SOMA is accredited by the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).

Superstition Springs Center is a shopping mall located in Mesa, Arizona. It is owned by Macerich, and was developed by Westcor. The mall features the traditional retailers Dillard's, JCPenney, and Macy's in addition to an 8-screen Picture Show. The mall features prominent specialty retailer such as Buckle, Tillys, Hollister, Charlotte Russe, BoxLunch, and See's Candies. The mall features an outdoor amphitheatre and a fountain that converts into a stage featuring free concerts from May to August on Saturday evenings. The mall also serves as a transit center for Valley Metro Bus.

Highland High School (HHS) is a public high school located in Gilbert, Arizona, United States. It was built in 1992 and is part of the Gilbert Public Schools district. It accommodates grades 9-12, and in 2010, the school had a student body of 2,957. In athletics, the school is known collectively as the Highland Hawks. Highland is a member of the Arizona Interscholastic Association's 6A Conference and competes in Division I in all AIA sports.

Leisure World is a gated, 55+ adult age restricted community located on a county island, in Maricopa County, Arizona, United States. The community is sovereign to, and surrounded by, the city of Mesa. Established in 1973, the community consists of nearly 500 condominiums and over 2100 single family residences.

East Valley is a loosely defined region, with differing definition of what constitutes it. PHX East Valley, a project with an area coalition known as the East Valley Partnership, defines the East Valley as an area that encompasses Apache Junction, Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Queen Creek, and Tempe.The East Valley Tribune, a newspaper that serves the region, considers Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Queen Creek, and Tempe as its service area. The newspaper formerly served Scottsdale as well, but pulled out of the city in 2009.Ahwatukee Foothills, which is an urban village of the City of Phoenix, is normally considered to be part of the East Valley as well.Valley Metro defines its East Valley service area for its ADA Paratransit service to include Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Tempe, and Scottsdale.

Canyon Valley School, alternatively known as Canyon Valley High School and often abbreviated as CV, CVS or CVHS is an alternative education institution in Mesa, Arizona serving primarily high school aged students, with some eighth grade classes also being offered. The school is operated by Gilbert Public Schools and presently hosts no official athletic or extracurricular activities.

Gilbert Unified School District #41 (GUSD), also known as Gilbert Public Schools (GPS), is a school district based in Gilbert, Arizona, United States in the Phoenix metropolitan area. The 60.26-square-mile (156.1 km2) district is the 7th largest in Arizona, and serves over 34,000 students at 39 schools across Gilbert, Chandler, and Mesa, Arizona. In 2018, the district was awarded "4th Best School District in America" by the National Council for Home Safety and Security and "Best Public School/District" in the Best of Gilbert 2018 issue of the East Valley Tribune. As of spring 2019, thirteen GPS schools have earned the "A+ School of Excellence™ Award" from the Arizona Educational Foundation.

Great Hearts Arete Preparatory Academy (formerly Mesa Preparatory Academy) is a charter school in Gilbert, Arizona. It is part of Great Hearts Academies. In 2014, the school moved to a location in Gilbert. The school changed its name to Great Hearts Arete Prep and its mascot from Monsoons to Chargers.

Mission Community Church (formerly known as Superstition Springs Community Church) is an American, Non-Denominational, church located in Gilbert, Arizona that is well known for its extensive collaborations with various faith-based non-profit organizations in areas such as: sex trafficking rescue and rehabilitation, clean water and community building in Africa, and supporting local Arizona families suffering homelessness and hardship.

The Buckhorn Baths Motel at 5900 East Main Street at the corner of North Recker Road in Mesa, Arizona was a small mineral hot springs resort which offered a bathhouse as well as both cottages and motel rooms for overnight stays. Beginning in 1936 as a gas station and store, Ted and Alice Sliger developed the property into a resort complex which opened in 1939 and was virtually complete as of 1947. It continued to operate until 1999, when the bathhouse closed, although the motel and "Wildlife Museum" continued until 2004. Although built over the course of more than a decade, the buildings are all designed in the Pueblo Revival style. The majority of the complex – but not buildings on the adjoining parcel of land to the west, also owned by the Singers and integrated into the resort complex – was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Buckhorn Hot Mineral Wells also known as Buckhorn Baths, and Buckhorn Mineral Wells is a hot spring located seven miles East of Mesa, Arizona.

Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch is a lake located in Gilbert, Arizona, United States, east of Greenfield Rd and south of Guadalupe Rd. The preserve was created by the Town of Gilbert in 1999 to combine water resources, wildlife habitat, educational programs, and recreational opportunities. The Riparian Preserve consists of 110 acres, with 70 acres of 7 water recharge basins. The Riparian Preserve also includes over 4.5 miles of trails that lead to various vegetative zones, gardens, a paleontology dig site, and an observatory. The Preserve houses approximately 298 species of birds, insects, fish, amphibians, reptiles, and mammals.
