Bihar was an administrative county (comitatus) of the Kingdom of Hungary and a county of the Eastern Hungarian Kingdom and Principality of Transylvania (since the 16th century, when it was under the rule of the Princes of Transylvania). Most of its territory is now part of Romania, while a smaller western part belongs to Hungary. The capital of the county was Nagyvárad (now Oradea in Romania). Albrecht Dürer's father was from this county.

Emanuil Gojdu National College (Romanian: Colegiul Național Emanuil Gojdu) is a high school located at 3-5 Spiru Haret Street in Oradea, Romania. It is named after Emanoil Gojdu. The College, which was founded on 15 June 1919, has a long history in teaching, being focused on science subjects. "Țara visurilor noastre" is its official magazine. The school building, with a construction date of 1895–1896, was designed by architect Ferenc Knapp; it is listed as a historic monument by Romania's Ministry of Culture and Religious Affairs.

The St. Nicholas Cathedral (Romanian: Catedrala Sfântul Nicolae) also called Greek-Catholic Cathedral of St. Nicholas It is a Catholic church that serves as the cathedral of the Eparchy of Oradea Mare (Eparchia Magnovaradinensis Romenorum). It is located in the city of Oradea in the European country of Romania.

Holy Trinity Church (Romanian: Biserica Sfânta Treime) is a Romanian Orthodox church located at 13 Parcul Traian Street, Oradea, Romania. It is dedicated to the Holy Trinity. The church was begun in 1692, after the loss of Ottoman control over the city during the Great Turkish War, in favor of the Habsburg monarchy. Originally a Roman Catholic church, it was initiated by Bishop Ágoston Benkovich and dedicated to Saint Bridget of Sweden. It was the first Catholic church outside the Oradea Citadel, located in the Olosig district. It burned in 1703 and was rebuilt in 1722.Ship-shaped, it has a pentagonal altar; the exterior features a small wooden tower. Initially Baroque in style, as seen in the pediment decorations, it is now Eclectic. The interior frescoes date to 1982–1985. After its Roman Catholic period, the church passed to the Ruthenian Greek Catholic community, who dedicated it to the Holy Spirit. Administered by the Oradea Mare Eparchy from 1786, it was controlled by the Hajdúdorog Eparchy between 1912 and 1919. The church was Greek-Catholic until 1948, when the new communist regime outlawed the denomination.The church is listed as a historic monument by Romania's Ministry of Culture and Religious Affairs.

Mihai Eminescu National College (Romanian: Colegiul Național "Mihai Eminescu" Oradea) is a high school located at 18 Episcop Roman Ciorogariu Street, Oradea, Bihor County, Romania. It is named after Mihai Eminescu, the national poet, and is one of the most prestigious schools in Bihor County.

The Adona is a tributary of the river Peța in Romania. It flows into the Peța in Oradea.

The Diocese of Oradea (Latin: Dioecesis Magnovaradinensis Latinorum, Hungarian: Nagyváradi Római Katolikus Egyházmegye, Romanian: Dieceza Romano-Catolică de Oradea Mare) is a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory of the Catholic Church in Romania, named after its episcopal see in the city of Oradea.

The Cathedral Basilica of St. Mary (Romanian: Catedrala romano-catolică Adormirea Maicii Domnului; Hungarian: nagyváradi Nagyboldogasszony székesegyház) also called the Catholic Cathedral of the Assumption, is the cathedral church of the Latin Diocese of Oradea Mare. It is located in the city of Oradea, northwest Romania.The basilica was built between 1752 and 1780, and was designed by Italian architect Giovanni Battista Ricca (1691-1757). After the death of the first architect, construction was completed by the Viennese Franz Anton Hillebrandt and the church was adorned with baroque decorations of Austria.
