Rohrwiller (French pronunciation: [ʁoʁvilɛʁ]; German: Rohrweiler) is a commune in the Bas-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France.

Oberhoffen-sur-Moder (French pronunciation: [obɛʁofɛn syʁ modɛʁ]; German: Oberhofen an der Moder) is a commune in the Bas-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France.

Forest of Haguenau (French: Forêt de Haguenau; Alsatian: Hàwenauer Wàld; German: Heiliger Forst or Hagenauer Forst) lies to the north of the town of Haguenau. It has a surface area of 210 square kilometres (81 sq mi) and is the largest undivided forest in France. Many Bronze Age and Iron Age artifacts have been found in the forest. They are on display in the Musée historique de Haguenau.

Musée de la Laub is a museum in Bischwiller in the Bas-Rhin department of France. Built in 1665 under Duke Christian II de Birkenfeld Bischwiller, it was the centre of village life until the 20th century. It became the town hall in 1912 and housed the village fire service until 1986.

Soufflenheim (French pronunciation: [suflənaim]; Alsatian: Süfflùm), is a commune in the Bas-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France. It is known for its pottery, being known as the Cité des Potiers.

Operation Royal Marine was a military operation in May 1940 of the Second World War, during the Battle of France (10 May – 25 June 1940). The British floated fluvial mines down rivers which flowed into Germany from France. The plan was to destroy German bridges, barges and other water transport. After several postponements insisted on by the French government, fearful of German retaliation, the operation began on 10 May 1940, when the German offensive in the west began. The mines caused some damage and delay to German river traffic on the Rhine from Karlsruhe to Koblenz and damaged bridges and protective barriers. Part of the plan was for Royal Air Force (RAF) bombers to drop the mines into rivers and canals on moonlit nights but this had hardly begun when the campaign ended. The success of the plot was nullified by the Allied defeat and the Franco-German Armistice of 22 June 1940.

Bischwiller (French pronunciation: [biʃvilɛʁ] ; German: Bischweiler; Alsatian: Bíschwiller) is a commune in the Bas-Rhin department in Grand Est in northeastern France, just west of the river Moder.

Herrlisheim is a commune in the Bas-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France. The town dates from the 8th century. Herrlisheim was the scene of very heavy fighting during Operation Nordwind, an offensive launched by the German Army during World War II that inflicted considerable damage to the town.
