Kienheim

Durningen (French pronunciation: [dyʁniŋ(ɡ)ən] ; Dürningen in German; Dírnínge in Alsatian) is a commune in the Bas-Rhin department and Grand Est region of north-eastern France. It is the highest-situated commune in the Kochersberg natural region. The name is first recorded in 724 as Deorangus, subsequently as Teuringas (742), Thurinca (787), Thuringen (1276), and finally Turningen / Durningen (1371). In the Middle Ages, Durningen was part of the domain of Hanau-Lichtenberg and belonged to the Prince-Bishopric of Strasbourg.

Gougenheim (French pronunciation: [ɡuɡənaim] ; German: Gugenheim) is a commune in the Bas-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France. Between 1 February 1973 and 1 January 1986 Rohr was merged with Gougenheim. The Guggenheim family is named after Gougenheim.

Rohr (French pronunciation: [ʁɔʁ]) is a commune in the Bas-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France. Between 1 February 1973 and 1 January 1986 Rohr was merged with Gougenheim.

Schnersheim (French pronunciation: [ʃnɛʁsaim]) is a commune in the Bas-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France.On 1 May 1972, Schnersheim merged with the associated communes of Avenheim and Kleinfrankenheim.

Truchtersheim is a commune in the Bas-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France. On 15 July 1974, Behlenheim was merged with Truchtersheim. On 1 January 2016, the former commune Pfettisheim was merged into Truchtersheim.

Hohatzenheim (Alsatian: Àtzne) is a former commune in the Bas-Rhin department in north-eastern France. On 1 January 2016, it was merged into the new commune Wingersheim-les-Quatre-Bans.

Schaffhouse-sur-Zorn (German: Schaffhausen an der Zorn, Alsatian: Schàffhüse) is a former commune in the Bas-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France. On 1 January 2017, it was merged into the commune Hochfelden.

Neugartheim-Ittlenheim is a commune in the Bas-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France. The commune was formed in January 1973 by the merger of the former communes Ittlenheim and Neugartheim. On the top of the Kochersberg stood a castle built in the 13th century. It was destroyed in 1592 and only traces remain. On its place was built between 1794 and 1797 a semaphore tower, the second nearest station from Strasbourg (after Dingsheim's one) on the semaphore line to Paris. It was used until 1852. Since the late 20th century, a memorial replaced this tower. Consisting of a motionless reproduction of the arms of such a tower, it can still be seen (within clear weather) from over ten kilometres, making the Kochersberg hill easily recognizable.
