As part of the Werribee Mercy Mental Health Program the hospital offers a range of acute and community psychiatric services. The hospital opened in January 1994 and has rapidly expanded to cope with the expanding population in Melbourne's fast-growing western suburbs. The hospital has nearly finished a $93 million expansion including 56 additional beds, six operating theatres and eight critical care beds, funded by the Victorian Government. The hospital is administered by Mercy Health, a Catholic not for profit organisation founded by the Sisters of Mercy.

Chirnside Park (also known as Avalon Airport Oval due to naming rights) is an Australian rules football ground in Werribee, Victoria, Australia, located between Watton Street and the Werribee River. Chirnside Park is the home ground of Victorian Football League team Werribee Tigers who have played at the ground since their inception in 1965. For the 2011 VFL season, Williamstown Football Club played the majority of its home games at Chirnside Park while their home ground Burbank Oval is being redeveloped. Western Region Football League first division finals have been played at the venue since 2011.Chirnside Park has a main social club building on the wing with terracing for spectators. A small wooden grandstand, believed to date to the 1910s or 1920s, is situated in the forward pocket next to it. Floodlights were recently installed at the ground, and night matches have been played there since 2011. In February 1967 the Polish Sports Festival held its first event at the venue, with spectator numbers reaching 3,000. It was such a success that it caused the Polish community to call Chirnside Park home for its sports festivals for the next nine years, until 1976.The total capacity is around the 10,000-mark. In 1982, an estimated 10,000 spectators saw Werribee's first ever match against VFA powerhouse Port Melbourne, which Werribee won by one point.The wider Chirnside Park area, outside the fenced football ground, also contains tennis courts, a public swimming pool, and the Werribee Bowling Club.

Wyndham Vale recorded a population of 20,518 at the 2021 census.The suburb of Manor Lakes was part of Wyndham Vale until 15 April 2021, when it was officially gazetted as its own suburb.

Wyndham Central College, formerly the Werribee Technical School and Galvin Park Secondary College (GPSC) is the former name of a government high school in the outer Melbourne suburb of Werribee, Victoria, Australia. In 2013, Galvin Park Secondary College was renamed Wyndham Central College. Wyndham Central College has a student population of about 1300, offering a curriculum for years 7–12. As well as the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) programme is also offered for years 11 and 12 students.

Werribee is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 32 km (20 mi) south-west of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Wyndham local government area. Werribee recorded a population of 50,027 at the 2021 census.Werribee is situated on the Werribee River, approximately halfway between Melbourne and Geelong, on the Princes Highway. It is the administrative centre of the City of Wyndham local government area and is the City's most populous centre. MacKillop Catholic Regional College is a Catholic secondary school in Werribee, Victoria, Australia. It has strong connections to the Josephite sisters, founded by Mary MacKillop. The college was founded as Mary McKillop Girls College in 1970, providing junior secondary education to female students in Years 7, 8 and 9. As demand for secondary education grew in the area, the College expanded to cater to male and female students from Years 7 to 12 and changed its name to reflect these changes. In 2022, MacKillop reached their 50 year anniversary, however celebrations were curtailed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The City of Wyndham is a local government area in Victoria, Australia in the outer south-western suburbs of Melbourne, within the Melbourne Metropolitan Area, between Melbourne and the regional city of Geelong. It has an area of 542 square kilometres (209 sq mi). The city had a population of 255,322 in June 2018. For the year to 2018 the City of Wyndham increased its population by 14,251, the largest number of any LGA in Victoria, as well as being the second most populous and the second fastest growing at a rate of 5.9 per cent.

Werribee Secondary College (abbreviated as WSC) is a government high school in Werribee, a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The College is operated by the Victorian Department of Education. Established in 1956, the College enrolled, in 2019, approximately 1,500 students from Year 7 to Year 12, of whom less than one percent identified as Indigenous Australians and 65 percent were from a language background other than English. Since 2000, Werribee Secondary College has experienced heavy demand for enrolments at Year 7 and at other levels. To manage this, a ceiling was placed on the total school enrolment. The college established an International Students Program in 2000 and attracts international students. The college has relationships with schools in USA, Spain and Japan. The college was accredited with the Council of International Schools (CIS) in 2006. Since 2013 the College was the first Victorian Government school to offer students the choice of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme alongside the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or VCAL. Students will select the senior programme (VCE, VCAL or IB) which best suits their individual interests and learning styles.

The electoral district of Werribee is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Victoria. It has existed in two incarnations, first from 1976 to 2002, and was created again in the 2013 redistribution and came into effect at the 2014 state election.Based on the rapidly growing outer south west suburbs of Melbourne, it takes in areas from Tarneit and Lara. It covers the suburbs of Werribee, Wyndham Vale, and the rural areas surrounding these suburbs to the south and west.Werribee was estimated to be a safe Labor seat with a margin of 11.4%, and was held by Labor with a further 4.2% swing towards them at the 2014 state election.

African Safari World was a proposed amusement park and zoo, to replace the Werribee Open Range Zoo, 32 kilometres (20 mi) southwest of Melbourne, Australia. Warner Village Theme Parks, who already own and operate several properties on the Gold Coast in Queensland, was behind the proposal. The park was scheduled to open in 2010. On 1 June 2008 the Victorian government said it had rejected the proposal, because the cost to taxpayers would have been too great.

Werribee Open Range Zoo is an African themed zoo in Werribee, about 32 kilometres (20 mi) south-west of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It is part of the Zoological Parks and Gardens Board or Zoos Victoria, which also includes Melbourne Zoo and Healesville Sanctuary. It is situated on approximately 225 hectares (560 acres) and is located on the Werribee River in Werribee Park, adjacent to the Werribee Mansion. It was originally agistment land to the Melbourne Zoo. Werribee Open Range Zoo is home to 360 animals of 40 species as of 2021.
