Auressio

Loco is a village and former municipality in the canton of Ticino, Switzerland. In 2001 the municipality of Loco was merged with the neighboring municipalities Auressio and Berzona to form a new and larger municipality Isorno.

Isorno is a former municipality in the district of Locarno in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. On 10 April 2016 the former municipalities of Vergeletto, Gresso, Mosogno and Isorno merged into the municipality of Onsernone.The former municipality was created in 2001 by a merger of Auressio, Berzona and Loco.

Intragna is a village and locality in the municipality of Centovalli in the district of Locarno of the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. Intragna has good railway connection with Locarno, Switzerland and Domodossola, Italy, as well as bus connections that lead to various hiking routes – several interesting paths begin or end in Intragna itself. Intragna is an old town with ancient-style buildings and small narrow streets. It has artist workshops selling handmade lacework and ceramics, as well as several hotels. The church tower of Intragna is claimed to be the highest tower in Ticino.

Monte Salmone is a mountain of the Lepontine Alps, located north of Cavigliano in the canton of Ticino. It lies on the range between the valleys of Onsernone and Maggia.

The Isorno is an Italian and Swiss river, a tributary of the Melezzo Orientale. Its source is in Italy near Pioda di Crana. It passes through Bagni, a frazione of Craveggia, then entering Switzerland it flows through Onsernone, Mosogno, Isorno and Intragna, where it joins the Melezzo Orientale. Its valley, although easily reached from Lugano, Bellinzona, Domodossola and Locarno, is one of the wildest in Switzerland, and there is a proposal to institute a national park like that of Engadin.

Moghegno is a village and former municipality in the district of Vallemaggia in the canton of Ticino, Switzerland. It was first recorded in 1335 as Mogeno. The municipality had 300 inhabitants in 1761, which decreased to 294 in 1801. It then went up and down to 392 in 1850, 264 in 1900 and 205 in 1950. It then increased steadily to 275 in 1990, 336 in 2000 and 376 in 2003. The municipality had an area of 6.96 km2. In 2004 the municipality was incorporated into the larger, neighboring municipality Maggia.

Aurigeno is a village and former municipality in the district of Vallemaggia in the canton of Ticino, Switzerland. It was first recorded in 1276 as Urigeno. The municipality had 398 inhabitants in 1709, which decreased to 302 in 1801, 297 in 1850, 219 in 1900, 214 in 1950 and 127 in 1970. It then rose again, to 316 in 1990 and 384 in 2003. The municipality had an area of 11.04 km². In 2004 the municipality was incorporated into the larger, neighboring municipality Maggia.

Maggia is a municipality in the district of Vallemaggia in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. Maggia's municipal borders were created in 2004 when the previous municipalities of Maggia, Moghegno, Aurigeno, Giumaglio, Someo, and Lodano were united. The municipality contains roughly 2,400 inhabitants and its official language is Italian.

Cavigliano is a former municipality in the district of Locarno in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. The municipalities of Cavigliano, Tegna and Verscio merged on 14 April 2013 into the new municipality of Terre di Pedemonte.

Pizzo Peloso is a mountain in the Swiss Lepontine Alps, located west of Maggia in the canton of Ticino. It lies between the valleys of Vergeletto, Onsernone and Maggia. The closest higher summit is Pizzo Cramalina on the north-west side

Lodano is a village and former municipality in the district of Vallemaggia in the canton of Ticino, Switzerland. It was first recorded in 1224 as Lodino. The municipality had 70 inhabitants in 1709, which increased to 85 in 1801, 140 in 1850 and 141 in 1900. It then declined to 134 in 1950 and 86 in 1970, before rising again, to 171 in 2000 and 191 in 2003. The municipality had an area of 13.76 km². In 2004 the municipality was incorporated into the larger, neighboring municipality Maggia. Since 2021 the ancient beech forests of the Lodano Valley have been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in the context of the property "Ancient and Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians and Other Regions of Europe". https://www.valledilodano.ch/en
