Bedford North Lawrence High School is a comprehensive, four-year public high school located in the eastern part of Bedford, Indiana. It is accredited by the Indiana Department of Education and North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Established in 1974, the school consolidated seven area high schools: Bedford, Tunnelton, Shawswick, Needmore, Fayetteville, Oolitic, and Heltonville. Bedford North Lawrence is fed from Bedford and Oolitic Middle Schools, as well as the private St. Vincent de Paul School. Helton–Mayo Farm is a historic farm and national historic district located in Shawswick Township, Lawrence County, Indiana. The house was built about 1837, and is a 1+1⁄2-story Federal style, hall and parlor plan brick dwelling. It has a side-gabled roof and rear ell. Also on the property are the contributing Midwest triple portal barn (c. 1835–1845), wellhouse, corn crib, buggy shed, garage (1920s), and round roofed barn (1950).It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

Pinhook is a small unincorporated farming community in Guthrie Township, Lawrence County, Indiana. It consists of two churches (Pinhook Church of Christ and Pinhook Christian Church), a cemetery, and several small farms and homesteads. Two legends describe how Pinhook got its unique name. One states that because the roads leading to it are quite curvy, they reminded people of hooked pins. The other states that the local general store, around 1900, had lost its liquor license, and in order to keep serving alcohol hooked pins around drink glasses. The proprietor would then sell these "Pin-Hooked" glasses, and throw in a drink for good measure.

Otis Park and Golf Course is a historic park, golf course, and national historic district located at Bedford, Lawrence County, Indiana. The district encompasses five contributing buildings, four contributing sites, eights contributing structures, and five contributing objects in a park originally established in 1923 and donated to city of Bedford in 1935. It was largely developed as a Works Progress Administration project between 1937 and 1941, and includes examples of Classical Revival and Bungalow / American Craftsman style architecture. Notable contributing resources include the band shell (1939), rock garden, bathhouse, clubhouse, four picnic shelters (1938), shelter house, and gazebo.It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

It was built in 1865, and is a two-story, Italianate / Second Empire style brick dwelling on a limestone block foundation. Madden School, also known as North Lawrence Community Schools Administration Building, is a historic school building located at Bedford, Lawrence County, Indiana. It was built in 1923, and is a two-story, rectangular, Classical Revival style limestone and brick building on a raised basement. A three-room addition was built in 1925–1926. It has dual front entrances and a parapet surrounding the roof. The building housed a school until 1976, after which it was used as an administration center.: 5, 11 It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.
