Keighley

Keighley Town Hall is an early 20th century municipal building in Keighley, West Yorkshire, England. It is a Grade II listed building.

The Aire Valley Fault (also known as the Keighley Fault) is an inactive strike slip fault in Yorkshire, England. It is considered a northwestern continuation of the Morley-Campsall Fault Belt and extends northwards from the Huddersfield and Wakefield area into the South Craven fault. It is connected to the Denholme Clough Fault.The fault runs underneath Keighley bus station and the Airedale Shopping Centre, and has caused cracks in the shopping centre.

Keighley Picture House is a cinema located in Keighley, West Yorkshire, England. It opened in 1913 as a receiving house theatre which also showed films, with a large auditorium containing stalls and balcony seating. In years to come it was used for live shows and pop concerts as well as regular film screenings. Sometime after the end of the Second World War, the Balcony was extended, bringing the total number of seats close to 1,000, the second biggest auditorium in Keighley after the Hippodrome/Queens Theatre. In 1954, the independent locally-owned cinema was purchased by Essoldo cinemas and folded into their chain, losing its "Picture House" moniker in the process and becoming "Keighley Essoldo".In or around 1974 the Essoldo chain was absorbed by Classic Cinemas, making Classic the biggest cinema chain in Europe at that time. Classic were responsible for closing and gutting what remained of the venue’s theatre and converting the balcony into a second screen and projection room for the main screen, which is how it remains today. In 1983, Classic went bankrupt and the cinema was acquired from creditors by Bradford Metropolitan Council, who leased it to a small local firm or co-operative venture. This group restored the cinema’s former name, “The Picture House". They in turn went out of business in 1991 and the cinema was closed, but was eventually leased from owners Bradford Met Council by the Northern Morris company and re-opened in 1996. Northern Morris Associated Cinemas currently own and operate six cinemas in the North of England, including The Cottage Road Cinema in Headingley, Leeds, The Rex at Elland, The Plaza at Skipton, The Roxy at Ulverston and The Royalty at Bowness-on-Windermere. The Picture House now has a main downstairs auditorium which seats about 300 and a smaller upstairs auditorium which seats about 90. In 2013 the cinema was upgraded to digital projection in both auditoria, with 2k projection and Dolby Stereo sound.

Keighley Central is a ward in City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council in the county of West Yorkshire, England. Its population is 16,276 as per the United Kingdom Census 2001, increasing to 18,255 at the 2011 Census.It contains the centre of Keighley, together with residential areas to its north west such as Utley. It has a large Pakistani community, which was measured at 43.3% of the local population in the 2011 Census. White British residents were the second largest group with 38.7% of the population at that time.

Cliffe Castle Museum, Keighley, West Yorkshire, England, is a local heritage museum which opened in the grand, Victorian, neo-Gothic Cliffe Castle in 1959. Originating as Cliffe Hall in 1828, the museum is the successor to Keighley Museum which opened in Eastwood House, Keighley, in c. 1892. There is a series of galleries dedicated to various aspects of local heritage, and to displaying the house itself, which is a Grade II listed building. Entrance to the museum is free of charge.

Keighley railway station serves the market town of Keighley in West Yorkshire, England. The station is located on the Airedale line, with electric services to Leeds, Skipton and Bradford Forster Square provided by Northern, along with longer distance services to Morecambe and Carlisle. The station is split in half, with National Rail operating from platforms 1 and 2, while platforms 3 and 4 are the northern terminus of heritage services to Oxenhope on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway.

Low Mill is a former textile mill in Keighley, West Yorkshire, England. It was the first industrial building in Keighley, and the first mill in Yorkshire to spin cotton, however, it later changed to being a worsted mill. The mill is now derelict and is a grade II* listed building, one of two in the town of Keighley. Its state of dereliction has led Historic England to place it on their 'at risk' register.

Keighley College is a further education college in Keighley, West Yorkshire, England. It traces its origins to Keighley Mechanics' Institute, founded in 1825. It has previoiusly been part of Park Lane College Leeds and Leeds City College, branded as their Keighley Campus, but is now a freestanding college, within the Luminate Education Group.

The Holy Family Catholic School is a coeducational Roman Catholic secondary school and sixth form serving the parishes and communities in and around the districts of Keighley, Haworth, and Skipton in West Yorkshire, England.The school opened in May 1965. The school celebrated its 50th birthday in 2015.Previously a voluntary aided school administered by City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council, in August 2022 The Holy Family Catholic School converted to academy status. The school is now sponsored by the Blessed Christopher Wharton Catholic Academy Trust. the school continues to be under the jurisdiction of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Leeds.

Cougar Park is a rugby league stadium in Keighley, England, which is the home stadium of the Keighley Cougars. Its capacity is 7,800 people. It also hosted a match during the 1995 Rugby League World Cup. From 1899 until 1995, it was known as "Lawkholme Lane". Football has also played at the ground, Silsden F.C. had played their home matches at the venue between 2003 and 2010. and Steeton A.F.C. played at the ground in 2018 and 2019.

The Museum of Rail Travel at Ingrow, England is operated by the Vintage Carriages Trust (VCT), a charity based just north of Ingrow (West) railway station on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway in West Yorkshire. Founded in 1965, it became a registered charity in 1981 and opened in 1990. The Trust has provided railway carriages for over 70 films and television programmes. Two of the steam locomotives owned by VCT - "Sir Berkeley" and "Bellerophon" have visited railways in the Netherlands. "Bellerophon" has also visited Belgium. "Sir Berkeley" is on loan to the Middleton Railway, Leeds. A third locomotive, Lord Mayor, an 0-4-0 saddle tank steam locomotive is on static display in the museum.
