San Pedro del Pinatar

Torre de la Horadada is a Spanish town located on the Mediterranean Sea with an estimated population of 2.676 inhabitants and comes under the jurisdiction of Pilar de la Horadada, which in turn has a total population of 22.967 according to the National Statistics Institute. Both of these towns are located in the most southern point of the Alicante province in the southeast of Spain and therefore shares a border with the province of Murcia. The name of the town has its origin in two factors: the first, the 16th century watchtower; and the second, the site where the tower is found: the point of Horadada (el horadada) which comes from the Spanish word for "bore through" as it is situated on rocks made up of small caves developed by the water boring the rock.

Pilar de la Horadada (Spanish pronunciation: [piˈlaɾ ðe la oɾaˈðaða]) is a town and district in the Province of Alicante, in the southeast of Spain. Located 66 km south of Alicante, the city is the southernmost of the Valencian Community, only 1 km north of the regional border (with the Province of Murcia). The town and its neighbouring villages (Pinar de Campoverde and Torre de la Horadada) are home to thousands of British, German and northern European expatriates. Region de Murcia Airport RMU (Corvera, Murcia) is within close proximity.

Mar Menor (Spanish pronunciation: [ˌmaɾ meˈnoɾ], "minor/smaller sea") is a coastal saltwater lagoon in the Iberian Peninsula located south-east of the Autonomous Community of Murcia, Spain, near Cartagena. Its name is the opposite of the Mediterranean, which is the Mar Mayor (greater/larger sea) of the region. Four municipalities border the Mar Menor: Cartagena, Los Alcázares, San Javier and San Pedro del Pinatar. With a surface area of 135 km2, a coastal length of 70 km, and warm and clear water no more than 7 metres in depth, it is the largest lagoon in Spain. The lagoon is separated from the Mediterranean Sea by La Manga ("the sleeve"), a sandbar 22 km in length whose width ranges from 100 to 1,200 metres, with Cape Palos in its south-eastern vertex making for the lagoon's roughly triangular shape. There are five islets located within the lagoon: Perdiguera islet, Mayor or El Barón islet, Ciervo islet, Redonda islet and del Sujeto islet. Its relatively high salinity (which aids flotation), low waves, and remarkable sporting infrastructures makes it a popular place for a wide variety of water sports.

Playa Flamenca is a locality and beach, 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) south of the town of Torrevieja in the municipality of Orihuela in the Province of Alicante, eastern Spain. The market there sells a range of items from shoes, clothing, belts and purses to vegetables.

Los Alcázares (Spanish: [los alˈkaθaɾes]) is a municipality and a coastal spa town and former fishing village on the western side of the Mar Menor in the autonomous community and province of Murcia, southeastern Spain. The Mar Menor (little sea) belongs to three other municipalities: San Javier, San Pedro del Pinatar and Cartagena and is Europe's largest saltwater lagoon. Connected to the adjacent Mediterranean sea by several channels, the Mar Menor has a surface area of almost 20 km2 and the fact that it is typically 2-4 degrees warmer than the Mediterranean, makes it a very popular destination for sailing, windsurfing, kiteboarding and other water sports enthusiasts. Los Alcazares has a resident population (2018) of 15,674 which rises to over 100,000 during the peak tourist summer holiday season. On 13 October 1983, the town was granted municipal autonomy, in respect of which it holds an annual week-long celebration featuring live music, shows, windsurfing competitions and firework displays. Besides the annual celebration of municipal autonomy, like many Spanish towns and cities, Los Alcazares also plays host to numerous fiestas and festivals throughout the year, including a large medieval market at the end of every March, and during the last two weeks in August, 'La Huerta' an international folklore festival and feast in celebration of the region's status as the market garden of Spain. Los Alcazares was used as a location for the 2008 movie of Ernest Hemingway's posthumous novel The Garden of Eden, starring Jack Huston, Richard E. Grant and Mena Suvari. A partly disused historic military air base at the southern end of the town was also used for location filming for the 2010 war movie, Green Zone featuring Matt Damon, Greg Kinnear and Jason Isaacs.

Pinar de Campoverde (Pine Forest in/of the Green Field literally) is a small village located at the foot of the Sierra de Escalona mountain range, nine kilometres from Pilar de la Horadada borough council, in the province of Alicante, Spain. The town has around 3,000 inhabitants and is ten kilometres from the Mediterranean coastline.

Villamartin is the name of both an urbanisation and a golf course in the Costa Blanca area of eastern Spain. It lies in the municipality of Orihuela, in the province of Alicante in the Valencian Community . Villamartin is one of the many new developments in the past decade in this area of Costa Blanca. The area is very popular with tourists and most of the population consists of Western European expatriate communities who have settled there in the last 10 years, virtually transforming the village into a modern-looking town. There are also other golf courses nearby and numerous beaches. The nearest beach is La Zenia beach. The area is home to El Limonar International School, Villamartin, an international school that teaches in both Spanish and English. Villamartin is situated on the Costa Blanca in the municipality of Orihuela and the province of Alicante. It is one hours drive south of the Alicante airport and a twenty-minute drive north of the Murcia airport. The construction of Villamartin started in 1972 and the area has now evolved into a cosmopolitan urbanisation, comprising some 1,500 apartments, villas and town houses. The main inhabitants are from western Europe and mostly English speaking. The Villamartin area is party to a lot of tourism, resulting in the appearance of numerous family-friendly attractions, from golf to water sports and go-cart tracks. The major attraction for both domestic and non-domestic tourism is the climate, as Villamartin has some 300 days of sunshine and a 20 degree average annual temperature, as well as the number of large beaches located in the area which were awarded the European Blue Flag for cleanliness, safety and the provision of facilities for the whole family. Villamartin has two championship golf courses; Campo de Golf Villamartin, which was home to the 1994 Mediterranean Open, and Campo de Golf Las Ramblas. There are also a number of other courses in the near surrounding area.The urbanisation of Villamartin is known for its central plaza located near to the Villamartin Golf Course. It consists of a bank, grocery store, doctor's office, a variety of bars, night clubs, cafés and restaurants, plus a number of apartments. The Plaza is built around a square that has a number of palm trees which are home to quite a few African Ring Neck Parrots. These parrots have achieved a celebrity status with the local tourists who are not used to the sight, and are seen as a pleasant addition to the area.

El Limonar International School, Villamartin - ELIS Villamartin (established in 1998), is a private for-profit school coeducational international school located in Villamartín, (San Miguel de Salinas / Alicante), Spain (not to be confused with the small city Villamartín in the province of Cádiz). The school is owned and operated by the Cognita Group, and educates children from ages 3 to 18 from more than 30 different nations, however the majority of students attending the school are either British or Spanish. The school highly promotes multilingualism in its pupils, teaching certain lessons in both Spanish and English as well as teaching French, German and Chinese Mandarin separately as part of the curriculum. Students annually celebrate "International Day" in order to promote awareness of multiculturalism and help those students not of Spanish nationality to integrate into the country's culture and immerse themselves in the Spanish language. ELIS Villamartín uses an educational curriculum based on the National Curriculum for England and Wales. Senior pupils at the school are then prepared for IGCSEs and A Level examinations (Or Bachillerato examinations if they so choose), as well as the Spanish university access examination, “Selectividad”. The school also offers high level facilities, including a science department with separate Physics, Biology and Chemistry laboratories; an IT room with 24 student computers; a library/extra computer area commonly used by A-Level/Bachillerato students; and a large Drama hall in the loft on the uppermost floor of the building.

San Miguel de Salinas (Spanish pronunciation: [sam miˈɣel de saˈlinas]; Valencian: Sant Miquel de les Salines [ˈsam miˈkɛl de les saˈlines]) is a town and municipality in the Valencian Community (Spain), situated in the south of the province of Alicante; in the comarca of Vega Baja del Segura. In the 2006 census, the population was 7,104.

S-61 Delfín (Dolphin in Spanish) is a diesel-electric submarine of the Daphné-class (known in Spain as the Delfín class) that was used by the Spanish Navy between 1973 and 2003. During his 30 years of service, he participated in various national and international exercises and maneuvers, made more than 2,500 voyages, made more than 30,000 hours of immersion and served in this submarine more than a thousand sailors. At the time of her retirement, she was the longest-serving submarine in the history of the Spanish Submarine Fleet.In 2004 it was donated by the Navy to the town of Torrevieja (province of Alicante, Valencian Community) and converted into a museum ship, thus becoming the first "floating museum" of these characteristics in Spain. It is part of the Museo del Mar y de la Sal (Museum of the Sea and Salt). In the first ten years as a museum it received more than a million visitors.

Los Nietos, Spain is a small fishing village with its own individual marina on the Mar Menor, which began as a very small fishing settlement and was later urbanised to allow more holiday homes by the Mar Menor. It is now a busy community with many visitors, especially in the summer, with some events at other times. Many foreigners, mainly British, live there. The village is at the eastern terminus of the Cartagena-Los Nietos commuter railway line. The Mar Menor has a 73 km coastline perimeter with numerous beaches with clear, shallow water (maximum depth 7m). The Mar Menor lagoon covers an area of 170km2 – making it the largest Saltwater lake in Europe. The average annual temperature is 17 °C, winters are mild, with average temperatures not falling much below 10 °C. La Manga del Mar Menor itself is a narrow strip of land between two seas, the Mediterranean and Mar Menor, measuring up to 300m in breadth & 21 km in length. It has over 40 km of sandy beaches, a casino, hotels, and is close to the airport, Murcia central, and to one of the oldest cities in Spain, Cartagena. Los Alcazares is an old fishing village of 20 km2 with 7 km of beaches from Los Narejos to Punta Brava. There is good transport to Los Alcazares and other nearby places. Santiago de la Ribera appeared in 1888 around a hermitage named after the apostle Santiago, and founded by Friar Jose Maria Barnuevo Rodrigo de Villamayor, who was a knight of the Military Order of Santiago – for this reason the town was named Santiago de la Ribera. Cabo de Palos is a bay on the Mediterranean side of La Manga just before the strip itself. The village has been built on a volcanic backbone of the Murcian coast where fishing has remained one of the livelihoods of the area although it has been modernized. Playa Honda, Mar de Cristal, Islas Menores, Los Nietos, Los Urrutias and Punta Brava are small hamlets and villages following the coastline.

Torrevieja (Spanish: [toreˈβjexa];) is a seaside city and municipality located on the Costa Blanca in the province of Alicante, in the southern part of the Valencian Community, on the southeastern Mediterranean coast of Spain. Torrevieja lies about 50 kilometres south of the city of Alicante and had a population of 90,097 at the 2011 Census; the latest official estimate (for 2019) is 83,337. Torrevieja was originally a salt-mining and fishing village as it is located between the sea and two large salt pink lakes, known as Las Salinas de Torrevieja.
