Ricote

Ojós (Spanish: [oˈxos]) is a municipality in the autonomous community of Murcia in southeastern Spain. It is located in the south-west of the north-eastern quarter of the region and has an area of 45.3 km 2 and shares borders with Blanca at its north, Ulea at its north-east, Villanueva del Río Segura at its East, Campos del Río at is south-west and Ricote at its north-west. The municipality was inhabited by 500 people in 2019.

Archena is a municipality in Spain in the province of Murcia and is located in the northeastern quarter. It has a population of 18,496 (as of 2012) and an area of 16.5 km2 (6.4 sq mi). It is 24 km (15 mi) away from the provincial capital, Murcia. Archena is home to a hot water mineral spa dating back to Roman times and has 3 hotels built around it. Whilst undergoing recent development, further Roman ruins were found on the site of the spa.

Campos del Río is a municipality in the autonomous region of Murcia in southeastern Spain. It covers an area of 47.3 km2 and shares borders with Ojós at its north, Villanueva del Río Segura and Alguazas at its north-east, Las Torres de Cotillas at its east, Murcia at its south-east, Mula and Albudeite at its south and west and Ricote at its north-west.

Cueva Antón is a paleoanthropological and archeological site in the Region of Murcia of southeast Spain. The cave is located about 60 kilometers from the Mediterranean port city of Cartagena inland in the territory of the municipality of Mula. It was eroded by the Río Mula and served as a cave in the Middle Palaeolithic inhabited by Neanderthals. The cave became internationally known in 2010, after a shell at least 43,000 years old with adhering orange pigment was discovered there. The pigment found was interpreted as evidence that the shell was used "in an aesthetic and probably symbolic" way. The find from the Cueva Antón was published together with similar finds from the Cave of Los Aviones; they were named as the first such Neanderthal jewelry found in Europe. The colonization of the Iberian Peninsula by modern man ( Homo sapiens ) took place only several thousand years after the creation of the jewelry from the Cueva Antón. This site is the last known place where Neanderthal people resided. The rock of the cave is Eocene limestone. It is at the base of a 25 meter high cliff on the bank of the Río Mula. The base of the cave was filled with four meters of sediment.

Mula is a municipality of Spain belonging to the Region of Murcia. It is located in southeastern Iberia. It has a total area of 633.84 km2 and, as of 1 January 2020, a registered population of 17,021.It is best known for the tamboradas (drumming processions) held during the Holy Week.

Alguazas (Spanish: [alˈɣwaθas]) is a municipality of Spain in the autonomous community and province of Murcia and it is located in the south-west of the northeastern quarter.

Las Torres de Cotillas is a Spanish municipality in the autonomous community of Murcia and is located in the eastern half.A Roman villa existed here in the 2nd century BC. Despite the presence of two Moorish settlements in the Middle Ages, the modern town was founded in 1318. West of Torres de Cotillas at 38°1'35"N 1°15'15"W there is a 186 metres tall guyed radio mast used for mediumwave broadcasting on 855 kHz with 100 kW. The Segura River traverses the western third of the municipality.
