Bergen Cathedral

Bergen Cathedral School (Norwegian: Bergen Katedralskole, Latin: Schola Cathedralis Bergensis, formerly known as Bergens lærdeskole and Bergen latinskole and colloquially known as Katten) is an upper secondary school in Bergen, Norway. Located in the city centre, next to Bergen Cathedral, the school has about 850 students, 95 full-time teachers, and 5 administration personnel, including the headmaster, Lise Hårklau Holsen. The school is considered to have been founded in 1153 by Nicholas Breakspear (later Pope Adrian IV), making the school the second oldest in Norway together with Oslo Cathedral School and Hamar Cathedral School, which were founded the same year, one year after the founding of Trondheim Cathedral School.

Kong Oscars gate is a street in the city centre of Bergen, Norway. It runs from Stadsporten, northwestwards to Bryggesporden and Vetrlidsallmenning by the bay of Vågen. The westernmost part of Kong Oscars gate is among the oldest streets in Bergen. The street was named in 1857 after king Oscar I of Sweden, who would reign over Norway and Sweden until 1859. It is a one-way road between Domkirkeplassen and its northwestern end, and otherwise a two-way road. Norwegian national road is assigned to Kong Oscars gate between its southeastern end at Stadsporten and Nygaten, which it then follows. Kong Oscars gate is approximately 0.8 km long.

The Seminarium Fredericianum or Bergen Daycare (Norwegian: Bergens barneasyl) is located at Asylplass 2 in Bergen's Bergenhus district and today it houses Norway's oldest preschool.

Tank Upper Secondary School (Norwegian: Tanks videregående skole) was an upper secondary school in the centre of Bergen, Norway. The school opened in 1850 as Tank School (Den Tankske Skole), funded by an endowment established by merchant Hans Tank and his wife around fifty years earlier. The school closed in 2014 after it was merged with Bergen Handelsgymnasium and Bjørgvin upper secondary school into the new Amalie Skram upper secondary school.

St George's Church, Bergen (Norwegian: Sankt Jørgen kirke) is a historic church of the Church of Norway in Bergen Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. This is also the site of the Leprosy Museum (Lepramuseet). Although it is no longer regularly used, it is one of the churches in the Bergen domprosti parish which is part of the Bergen domprosti (arch-deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The green, wooden church was built in a cruciform design in 1706 using plans drawn up by an unknown architect. The church seats about 125 people.

The Skansen Tunnel is a proposed road tunnel in the city centre of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. The tunnel would begin at Bontelabo by the large cruise ship port and it would run in one of two possible paths. The first path would run to the southeast and then south to meet up with the road Christies gate in the city centre. The second path would head east until it connects up with the Fløyfjell Tunnel. The intention is to allow traffic to and from Sandviken to bypass historic Bryggen and the city centre and connect up with a main highway. The project would be part of Norwegian County Road 585 and financing has been secured through the Bergen Program. The tunnel is estimated to cost 430 million kr and it is in the planning stages from 2011–2015.

Holy Cross Church (Norwegian: Korskirken) is a special parish church in Bergen municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is situated in the centre of the city of Bergen, just east of the head of the Vågen bay. The church is located at the intersection of the streets Kong Oscars gate and Nedre Korskirkeallmenning. It is one of the churches for the Bergen domprosti parish which is part of the Bergen domprosti (arch-deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The large stone church was built in a cruciform design around the year 1150 using plans drawn up by an unknown architect. The church seats about 600 people.

The Fløibanen is a funicular railway in the Norwegian city of Bergen. It connects the city centre with the mountain of Fløyen, with its mountain walks and magnificent views of the city. It is one of Bergen's major tourist attractions and one of Norway's most visited attractions. The line is 844 m (2,769 ft) long, covers a height difference of 302 m (991 ft), and carries over one million passengers a year. The line is owned by Fløibanen AS, a company with a number of shareholders, the biggest being the municipality of Bergen.

Bergen Academy of Art and Design (Norwegian: Kunst- og designhøgskolen i Bergen) or KHiB was one of two independent and accredited scientific institutions of higher learning in the visual arts and design in Norway (The other is Oslo National Academy of the Arts). It was located in Bergen, Norway. The education included the subject areas fine art, photography, printmaking, ceramics, textiles, visual communication, interior architecture and furniture design. The college had around 350 students. KHiB is now merged with The Grieg Academy - Department of Music, and together they make up the Faculty of Fine Art, Music and Design, as one of seven faculties at University of Bergen (UiB). The faculty was formally established on 1 January 2017, and has three departments: The Art Academy - Department of Art, The Grieg Academy - Department of Music and Department of Design.

The Gulating Court of Appeal (Norwegian: Gulating lagmannsrett) is one of six courts of appeal in the Kingdom of Norway. The Court is located in the city of Bergen. The court has jurisdiction over the counties of Vestland and Rogaland plus Sirdal Municipality in Agder county. These areas constitute the Gulating judicial district (Norwegian: Gulating lagdømme). This court can rule on both civil and criminal cases that are appealed from one of its subordinate district courts. Court decisions can be, to a limited extent, appealed to the Supreme Court of Norway. There are 33 permanent judges seated on this court. The chief judicial officer of the court (Norwegian: førstelagmann) is currently Magni Elsheim (as of 2016). The court is administered by the Norwegian National Courts Administration.

Christi Krybbe skoler is an elementary school in Bergen, Norway. It is the oldest existing school of elementary education in Scandinavia, having been founded 1737 under the name Korskirken's School for the Poor. The school got its own building in 1740, and the name was changed to Christi Krybbe fundasskole. Later, in 1874, the school was expanded when a second building, named Øvregaten skole, was built next to the old one. Starting 1874, both buildings were called Øvregaten skole, a name which lasted until the entire school was renamed Christi Krybbe skoler in 1970.

Bergen Public Library (Norwegian: Bergen Offentlige Bibliotek) is a library building and public library institution in Bergen, Norway. Founded in 1872, it is the second largest public library in Norway. In addition to the main building in Bergen's city centre, Bergen Public Library operates nine branch offices and the library service in Bergen's two prisons.
