The Bachelor Apartment House is an historic structure located in the Northwest Quadrant of Washington, D.C. The architectural firm of Wood, Donn & Deming designed the building. The building architecture offers an fascinating approach to a specific project, achieving an elegant and intimate residential standard in a multi-unit commercial structure. [1] It is believed to be the only example of a luxury apartment building built for single men still standing in the city. It is also one of the first apartment buildings in Washington with a Tudor Revival façade. The building, which now contains offices, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

The National Library for the Blind was an American philanthropic and educational institution. The National Library for the Blind was incorporated December 26, 1911, and was located at 1729 H Street, Washington, D.C. The American ambassador to Italy, the Hon. Thomas Nelson Page, was the first president. He was succeeded by Sara Weeks Roberts. Thereupon, Page was made the honorary president.The object of the library was to furnish the sightless, in their own homes, interesting and up-to-date literature. The books were carefully selected, and consisted of history, biography, travels, and novels suitable for the adult, and were in constant circulation to readers in 44 states. By an act of Congress, embossed reading matter for the blind was sent free by mail to any part of the U.S. This was a great boon to the sightless, as necessarily the volumes were large and heavy, and the expense of transportation would make their general circulation prohibitive.A blind woman had charge of the records and distribution of books. Paper was prepared, type set, and the books embossed by blind employees; and the sightless also, in their homes, were paid for transcribing, all work being returned to the library to be proof read, corrected, shellacked, eyeleted, and bound by the blind employees, under the oversight of the director. The library sent out catalogues, both in printed ink and embossed type, the latter enabling the blind themselves to select books they wished to read. A book of instructions and a slate and stylus were sent to those desiring to learn to transcribe in English Braille.

Loeb's NY Deli is a historic kosher-style deli in downtown Washington, D.C., United States. Opened in 1959 by Walter Loeb, the deli was originally located at the corner of 15th and G Streets, NW, in a space currently occupied by the Old Ebbitt Grill. In the 1970s the deli moved to the U.S. Export-Import Bank (Lafayette) building, and was made to move again in 2010 because of a Recovery Act-funded renovation. It is now located at 1712 I Street, and run by Dave, Marlene and Steve Loeb, the children of founder Walter Loeb.

CSIS was founded as the Center for Strategic and International Studies of Georgetown University in 1962. It has been labeled a "centrist" think tank by U.S. News & World Report.The center hosts the Statesmen's Forum, a bipartisan venue for international leaders to present their views. Past speakers have included UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon and National Security Advisor Tom Donilon. The center also conducts the CSIS-Schieffer School Dialogues, a series of discussions hosted by Bob Schieffer, of CBS News, in addition to the Global Security Forum, with keynote addresses by Defense Department officials including former Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel.

PNC Bank Building is a high-rise skyscraper building located at 800 17th Street NW, Washington, D.C., United States. The building broke ground in 2008, and was completed in 2010. The building serves as an office building for PNC Financial Services, and serves as the regional headquarters for PNC Financial Services. The building is 150 feet (46 m), containing 12 floors. The architect of the building is Gensler, who designed the postmodern design of the building. The developer of the building is PNC/Vornado.

The Barr Building is an historic structure located in the Golden Triangle section of Downtown Washington, D.C. It was listed on the District of Columbia Inventory of Historic Sites in 2012 and on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013. The building was designed by Washington architect B. Stanley Simmons in the Gothic Revival style and named for its developer, John L. Barr. When completed in 1927, the building was noted for having the fastest elevators in the city. The eleven-story structure rises to a height of 115 feet (35 m).
