Gmina Wieliszew

Wieliszew [vjɛˈliʂɛf] is a village in Legionowo County, Masovian Voivodeship, in east-central Poland, in the bifurcation of the Vistula and Narew Rivers. It is the seat of the gmina (commune or municipality as administrative district) called Gmina Wieliszew. It lies approximately 7 kilometres (4 mi) north-east of Legionowo and 26 km (16 mi) north of Warsaw. Wieliszew borders on the following villages: Skrzeszew and Komornica in the west, Izbica, Jachranka and Skubianka (via Jezioro Zegrzyńskie) (Lake Zegrzyńskie) in the north, Zegrze Południowe and Nieporęt in the east, and Łajski and Michałów-Reginów in the south. In the north, the village has a natural boundary, formed by the Narew River and Jezioro Zegrzyńskie of an area of approx. 700 ha, which was created as a result of damming the waters of the Bug River and Narew Rivers in Dębe and made available for general use in 1963. The village and commune with its large forests, numerous natural monuments, meadows, and ponds (which are located within the zone of the Warsaw Protected Landscape Area) located near the capital, provides excellent holiday and recreation conditions.

It lies approximately 4 kilometres (2 mi) south of Wieliszew, 5 km (3 mi) north-east of Legionowo, and 23 km (14 mi) north of Warsaw. The village has a population of 1,318.

Łajski is a village in Masovian Voivodeship in the Legionowo County, in the Gmina Wieliszew in Poland. In the years 1975-1998 the area was the province of Warsaw Voivodeship.

Zegrze Południowe [ˈzɛɡʐɛ pɔwudˈɲɔvɛ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Nieporęt, within Legionowo County, Masovian Voivodeship, in east-central Poland. It lies approximately 4 kilometres (2 mi) north-west of Nieporęt, 9 km (6 mi) north-east of Legionowo, and 27 km (17 mi) north of Warsaw. Zegrze Południowe is the terminus of a 3.5 kilometres (2.2 mi) long railway line from Wieliszew, but passenger service on the line ceased in 1994. In late 2019, Polish railway infrastructure manager PKP PLK called for tenders for the works required to reopen the line, which was reopened to passengers in June 2023. It is currently the terminus of the SKM line S4.

It lies approximately 5 kilometres (3 mi) south-west of Nieporęt, 5 km (3 mi) east of Legionowo, and 22 km (14 mi) north of Warsaw. The village has a population of 479.
