Clark Street station

Hotel St. George is a building in Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn, New York City, which was once the city's largest hotel. The hotel is within the Brooklyn Heights Historic District. The hotel was originally created by Union Navy Captain William Tumbridge in 1885, and various constituent buildings were built through 1929. The building survived a large 1995 fire. The building is now being used as student housing for surrounding colleges, especially New York University, Pace University, St. Francis College, and the New York Law School. The building is open only to its student residents, and has several lounge areas and one communal kitchen to be shared with the resident occupants. Attached to the building on the Clark Street side is a four floor "Eastern Athletic" gym that is separately owned. It is located atop the New York City Subway's Clark Street station on the IRT Broadway–Seventh Avenue Line (2 and ​3 trains), one stop from Manhattan. The station's sole subway entrance continues to function inside the hotel itself, right before the main door leading to the former ballroom and guest check-in.

The Atlantic Yacht Club is a family-oriented yacht club located on the shores of Gravesend Bay in south Brooklyn. A storied member of the New York sailing community, the club is perhaps best known for its contributions to New York sailing in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when it featured prominently as one of the leading yacht clubs of its day. The Atlantic Yacht Club's facilities have moved several times over its history: the first facility was located at the foot of Court Street on Gowanus Bay in Gowanus, Brooklyn; it subsequently moved to a site at the foot of 55th Street in the neighborhood that subsequently became known as Sunset Park, Brooklyn. In 1898 it moved to perhaps its most famous club-house, located in Seagate. Seagate is located on the western end of Coney Island, and the club facilities were located on the northern, inland, side of Coney Island facing Gravesend Bay. For many years, the Atlantic Yacht Club was one of the largest and most prestigious yacht clubs in New York City. The club's current location on Gravesend Bay faces out toward its former Sea Gate site. A family oriented sailing club, the Atlantic Yacht Club sponsors an active junior sailing program.

The Supreme Court of the State of New York, Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department, or simply the Second Department, is one of the four geographical components of the Supreme Court, Appellate Division, the intermediate appellate court of the State of New York. Its courthouse is located in Brooklyn, New York City. The court has jurisdiction to hear civil and criminal appeals from the trial courts located in 10 counties: Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, and Westchester in the Hudson Valley, Nassau and Suffolk on Long Island, and Kings (Brooklyn), Queens, and Richmond (Staten Island) in New York City. These counties comprise 8% of New York State's land area, yet account for more than 50% of its population.As with all four departments of the Appellate Division, the Second Department was created in its current form by the Constitution of the State of New York, adopted at the 1894 constitutional convention. The constitution fixes the number of justices at seven, but the governor may designate additional justices if there is a need. The court currently has 22 judicial seats.As of 2021, the Second Department is the busiest appellate court in the United States and decides 65% of all cases in the Appellate Division. The court issued more than 3,500 rulings in 2017. Its caseload first surpassed that of the First Department, based in Manhattan, in 1966.The Second Department courthouse was designed by Slee & Bryson in the neoclassical style. Construction began on March 1, 1937, and the courthouse opened on September 28, 1938.

Clark-Tillary Streets was a station on the demolished BMT Fulton Street Line, located on Fulton Street (now Cadman Plaza West) at Clark Street and Tillary Street in Brooklyn, New York City. It was also served by trains traveling via what is now the BMT Brighton Line.

Plymouth Church is an historic church located at 57 Orange Street between Henry and Hicks Streets in the Brooklyn Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York City; the Church House has the address 75 Hicks Street. The church was built in 1849–50 and was designed by Joseph C. Wells. Under the leadership of its first minister, Henry Ward Beecher, it became the foremost center of anti-slavery sentiment in the mid-19th century. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1961, and has been a National Historic Landmark since 1966. It is part of the Brooklyn Heights Historic District, created by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission in 1965. The church is a member of the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches.

Fort Brooklyn was a British-built large star fort built to support the occupation of Brooklyn during the American Revolutionary War. The site was on Brooklyn Heights, near present-day Pierrepont and Henry Streets, about four blocks from Fort Stirling. The fort was 450 feet square with ramparts 40 to 50 feet above the bottom of an encircling ditch. Each angle had a bastion and there was a substantial barracks and two magazines. After the British evacuation the fort was leveled between 1823 and 1825 for development.

First Unitarian Congregational Society in Brooklyn is a Unitarian Universalist congregation in Brooklyn, NY. The Society was established in 1833 and has been worshiping in its historic Gothic Revival Sanctuary since 1844. The Sanctuary is adorned with stained glass windows and a Louis C. Tiffany angel mosaic. It is one of the earliest Unitarian congregations in the United States, established just 8 years after the American Unitarian Association was formed in 1825.

The Brooklyn Savings Bank was a building in Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn, New York, designed by prominent Brooklyn architect Frank Freeman. Completed in 1894, it was considered one of Freeman's finest works, but in spite of its widely recognized architectural significance, the building was demolished in 1964, shortly before the designation of the neighborhood as a historic district.

The Herman Behr Mansion is a building located at 82 Pierrepont Street at the corner of Henry Street in Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn, New York City. Constructed in 1888–89 to a design of Brooklyn architect Frank Freeman, it has been described as "the city's finest Romanesque Revival house".

Brooklyn Heights is a residential neighborhood within the New York City borough of Brooklyn. The neighborhood is bounded by Old Fulton Street near the Brooklyn Bridge on the north, Cadman Plaza West on the east, Atlantic Avenue on the south, and the Brooklyn–Queens Expressway or the East River on the west. Adjacent neighborhoods are Dumbo to the north, Downtown Brooklyn to the east, and Cobble Hill and Boerum Hill to the south. Originally referred to as Brooklyn Village, it has been a prominent area of Brooklyn since 1834. Directly across the East River from Manhattan and connected to it by subways and regular ferry service, Brooklyn Heights is also easily accessible from Downtown Brooklyn. Columbia Heights, an upscale six-block-long street next to the Brooklyn Heights Promenade, is sometimes considered to be its own neighborhood. Brooklyn Heights is part of Brooklyn Community District 2, and its primary ZIP Code is 11201. It is patrolled by the 84th Precinct of the New York City Police Department. The New York City Fire Department operates two fire stations near Brooklyn Heights: Engine Company 205/Ladder Company 118 at 74 Middagh Street, and Engine Company 224 at 274 Hicks Street.

1 Clinton Street (previously known as 280 Cadman Plaza West) is a primarily residential building under development in the Brooklyn Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn in New York City. The building will replace a preexisting branch of the Brooklyn Public Library. It is being developed by Hudson Companies and designed by Marvel Architects.

The Crescent Athletic Club House is a building at 129 Pierrepont Street at the corner of Clinton Street in Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn, New York City. Designed by prominent Brooklyn-based architect Frank Freeman and completed in 1906, the building is known today as the Bosworth Building of Saint Ann's School.
