The Francis Cowherd House, off U.S. Route 68 near Greensburg, Kentucky, was probably built in the 1830s. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. It is a house with "fine Federal interior woodwork. It is a one-story, seven-bay brick house, with brick laid in Flemish bond. It has end chimneys which are partially exterior. A second story, probably having five bays, was destroyed by a tornado "recently" (as of 1984).

The John C. Allen House, on Kentucky Route 61 in Green County, Kentucky, about 1 mile (1.6 km) south of Summersville, Kentucky, was built in 1803. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. It is notable for its Federal architecture and its display of pre-Federal features. It is a two-story, five-bay brick house, with brick laid in Flemish bond.

The Daniel Motley Williams House in Green County, Kentucky near Summersville, Kentucky was built c. 1800. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. The main house included Federal architecture. The listing included a total of four contributing buildings. The house was deemed significant as the "only example in the county of the combination of single-pen & saddlebag log house forms."

It lies along Old U.S. Route 68 between the cities of Campbellsville and Greensburg, the county seats of Taylor and Green Counties. Its elevation is 846 feet (258 m). The community's name originates from a pioneer incident. After the local schoolhouse was painted, it became covered in black gnats. A person remarked about the large number of the black gnats, and the name remained. Black Gnat has been noted for its unusual place name.

The Jacob Hiestand House, in Taylor County, Kentucky west of Campbellsville, Kentucky, was built from 1823 to 1825. It is one of 12 German stone houses surviving in the state, It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. The house is a one-story, three-bay central hall plan house built of coursed limestone. Construction was by "the dry construction method of clay sealed with lime mortar." It is about 24 by 52 feet (7.3 m × 15.8 m) in plan, with a cellar; each of its two rooms, on either side of its hall, has an arched stone fireplace. It was home of Jacob Hiestand, who was born in York County, Pennsylvania, who moved to Kentucky around 1816 and built this house in 1823. A daughter, Araminta, and her husband Joseph H. Chandler, an attorney and state senator, were living in the house when it was hit by Morgan's Raid, the rambling 1000-mile long 1863 Civil War raid of Confederate General John Hunt Morgan into Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia. The property included a separated 12 by 14 feet (3.7 m × 4.3 m) stone kitchen, a stone springhouse, a dug well, and a .25 acres (0.10 ha) cemetery. Development of a shopping plaza in the area in 1988, threatened the house; the house and its cemetery were both moved about .5 miles (0.80 km) to their present locations. The house is now a museum, the Hiestand House-Taylor County Museum.

Saloma is an unincorporated community in Taylor County, Kentucky, United States. It lies along Routes 527 and 744 northwest of the city of Campbellsville, the county seat of Taylor County. Its elevation is 906 feet (276 m). Saloma was established in 1838, and had its own post office during the 19th century. The origin of the name "Saloma" is unknown.
