City of Cranbourne

Cranbourne () is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 43 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Casey local government area. Cranbourne recorded a population of 21,281 at the 2021 census.The ever expanding greater Cranbourne area consists of Cranbourne, Cranbourne North, Cranbourne East, Cranbourne South, Victoria and Cranbourne West.

Cranbourne railway station is the terminus of the suburban electrified Cranbourne line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the south-eastern Melbourne suburb of Cranbourne, and opened on 1 October 1888.

Cranbourne Park Shopping Centre (known locally as Centro) is a single-level regional shopping centre, located approximately 42 kilometres south-east of the Melbourne CBD in the suburb of Cranbourne. The centre was first opened in 1979 and was acquired by Vicinity Centres in 2000. The centre includes major retailers Kmart, Target, Coles, TK Maxx, Harris Scarfe, JB Hi-Fi, Best & Less and Cotton On Mega, and also smaller businesses including Forever New, Dotti, Jeanswest, Just Jeans and Sportsgirl. The centre has an average annual traffic of 6.1 million people per year.

Cranbourne West is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 40 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Casey local government area. Cranbourne West recorded a population of 19,969 at the 2021 census.Cranbourne West has developed since the 1990s, and in 2006 had a new shopping centre opened called 'The Sandhurst Centre', on the corner of Duff Street and Monahans Road. The Year 7-12 private Catholic School, St Peters College, is situated on Sladen Street in the far south of the suburb. The Cranbourne West Development Plan was released in 2008 by the City of Casey and includes a large parcel of land bounded by Thompsons Road to the North, Evans Road to the East, Western Port Highway to the West, and the recently partially-built Ballarto Road and the urban growth boundary (as of 2012) to the south. New developments currently as of 2020 has a part of the planned large industrial area, a new Shopping Centre with a Woolworths Supermarket, housing, a network of parks and pathways, a primary school, and a planned secondary college. Low-density housing is provided for at the south of the parcel north of the urban growth boundary.

Cranbourne East is a proposed railway station on the Cranbourne railway line in the south-eastern Melbourne suburb of Cranbourne East, Victoria, Australia. It would be the terminus of a short extension from the current Cranbourne terminus, with the station to be located west of Broad Oak Drive and north of the Blue Hills retirement village, and adjacent to near the Casey Fields sporting complex. There is a proposed pedestrian underpass to be built along with the station. The station was promised by the Australian Labor Party during the 1999 and 2002 state election campaigns, but was dumped in May 2006. In November 2003, a "Trainlink" bus service was introduced as an alternative, meeting each train at Cranbourne station and running on a largely one-way loop through Cranbourne East. The then state government's Victorian Transport Plan, released in December 2008, listed the station and associated rail extension as "medium term" project, which was estimated to cost $200 million.In January 2018, City of Casey advised it would need almost $3 Billion worth of rail and road infrastructure to extend the metropolitan train from Cranbourne to Clyde with duplication of the line between Dandenong and Cranbourne.

The Cranbourne meteorite is an octahedrite iron meteorite. It is the second largest meteorite found in Australia after the Mundrabilla meteorite, but at the time of discovery it was the largest known iron meteorite in the world. It is classified as a main group IAB meteorite.

The Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria at Cranbourne Gardens, is a division of the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria (the second division being the Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne, located in the centre of Melbourne). It is located in the suburb of Cranbourne, about 45 km south-east of the Melbourne city centre. Cranbourne Gardens specialises in Australian native plants. The total area of this division of the botanic gardens is 363 hectares, including heathlands, wetlands and woodlands. The gardens also provide habitat for native birds, mammals and reptiles, including some rare and endangered species. A recent feature of the Cranbourne, is the specially constructed Australian Garden, opened to the public on 28 May 2006. The Australian Garden features a number of exhibition gardens, sculptures and displays aimed to bring the beauty and diversity of the Australian landscape and plants to the public. Beyond the Australian Garden, the bushland section of the garden contains 10 km of walking tracks, and includes the Trig Point Lookout tower, secluded picnic sites and free barbecues.

Cranbourne East is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 45 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Casey local government area. Cranbourne East recorded a population of 24,679 at the 2021 census.

Merinda Park railway station is located on the Cranbourne line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the south-eastern Melbourne suburb of Cranbourne North, and opened on 24 March 1995.

Junction Village is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 45 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Casey local government area. Junction Village recorded a population of 1,051 at the 2021 census.Junction Village has a small row of shops and a sports oval.

Casey Fields is a $30 million, 70 hectare multi-sports complex in the City of Casey at Cranbourne East a southeastern suburb of Melbourne. The complex is home to Australian rules football, cricket, netball, soccer, tennis, cycling, golf, and rugby football. The precinct's most prominent facility is the Main Oval, an Australian rules football oval which serves as the home of the Casey Demons in the Victorian Football League. The Australian Football League's Melbourne Football Club has a training base and plays AFL Women's games at the complex. The Casey-South Melbourne Cricket Club in the Victorian Premier Cricket competition is also based at Casey Fields. It is also the training venue for A-Leagues side Melbourne City FC, with the club hosting Australia Cup and Women's matches, as well as their NPL and Youth sides at the City Football Academy stadium.

The Etihad City Football Academy, Melbourne, named after the Etihad airline and located in Melbourne, Australia, is the training and administrative headquarters of professional football club Melbourne City FC. The club was previously based in the northern Melbourne suburb of Bundoora between 2015 and 2022, and later relocated to the Casey Fields sports precinct in Cranbourne East, south-eastern suburb of Melbourne.
