Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT) at the Storrs campus of the University of Connecticut is a professional theatre run by the Department of Dramatic Arts, a part of the School of Fine Arts. Its current artistic director is Megan Monaghan Rivas; past artistic directors included Michael Bradford and Vincent J. Cardinal. Although a part of a university, the CRT is a major presence in the theatre world and sells more than twelve thousand tickets each year. CRT offers a subscription series of six plays and musicals each year—two in the 116-seat Studio Theatre, two in the 240-seat Nafe Katter Theatre, and two in the 485-seat Harriet S. Jorgensen Theatre. Productions range from dramas such as The Children's Hour by Lillian Hellman to more light-hearted fare such as The Odd Couple by Neil Simon. Prominent theatre personalities who have appeared in CRT productions include actors Kim Hunter, Judy Kaye, and Aleta Mitchell, directors James Warwick and Larry Carpenter, choreographer Tony Stevens, and designer Dennis Parichy.CRT and the Department of Dramatic Arts also run the puppet arts program founded by Frank Ballard.

The Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry (BIMP) is a public museum of puppetry operated by the University of Connecticut and located in Storrs, Connecticut.

The Dodd Center for Human Rights (formerly the Thomas J. Dodd Research Center) is a University of Connecticut center which supports programming, educational initiatives, and events dedicated to the theme of human rights. The Dodd Center also houses several University of Connecticut departments and centers, including Archives & Special Collections, a unit of the University of Connecticut Library, the Human Rights Institute, and the Center for Judaic Studies and Contemporary Jewish Life. The John P. McDonald Reading Room is the public access point for the university archives and special collections.

Storrs is a village and census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Mansfield in eastern Tolland County, Connecticut, United States. The village is part of the Capitol Planning Region. The population was 15,979 at the 2020 census. It is dominated economically and demographically by the main campus of the University of Connecticut and the associated Connecticut Repertory Theatre.

It was founded in 1881 as the Storrs Agricultural School, named after two brothers who donated the land for the school. In 1893, the school became a public land grant college, becoming the University of Connecticut in 1939. Over the following decade, social work, nursing and graduate programs were established, while the schools of law and pharmacy were also absorbed into the university. During the 1960s, UConn Health was established for new medical and dental schools. UConn is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education. The university is classified as an R1 research institution. UConn is one of the founding institutions of the Hartford/Springfield regional economic and cultural partnership alliance known as New England's Knowledge Corridor. UConn was the second U.S. university invited into Universitas 21, an international network of 24 research-intensive universities.Competing in the Big East Conference as the Huskies, UConn has gained recognition for its women's and men's basketball programs. The Huskies have won 23 NCAA championships. The UConn Huskies are the top women's basketball program in the nation, having won a record 11 NCAA Division I National Championships (tied with the UCLA Bruins men's basketball team) and a women's record four in a row (2013–2016), in addition to over 40 conference regular season and tournament championships. UConn also holds the two longest winning streaks of any gender in college basketball history.

Elliot Ballpark is a baseball stadium on the campus of the University of Connecticut (UConn) in Storrs, Connecticut, United States. It is the home field of the UConn Huskies baseball team of NCAA Division I's Big East Conference. The stadium is designed to seat 1,500 people, with additional space on grass berms which can also accommodate temporary bleachers. It is named after former UConn baseball player Doug Elliot and his family, who provided a major gift towards the construction of the venue.Elliot Ballpark replaced J. O. Christian Field as UConn's home field. The stadium was set to open during the 2020 season, however, UConn played no home games prior to the cancellation of the season due to the coronavirus pandemic. The first game at the ballpark was played on March 23, 2021, with UConn defeating Central Connecticut State by a score of 2-0.

Harry A. Gampel Pavilion is a 10,167-seat multi-purpose arena in Storrs, Connecticut, United States, on the campus of the University of Connecticut (UConn). The arena opened on January 21, 1990, and is the largest on-campus arena in New England. It was named after industrialist and 1943 UConn graduate Harry A. Gampel, a philanthropist who walked with Martin Luther King Jr., and who donated $1 million for the construction of the arena. It is about 216,000 sq ft (20,100 m2). Gampel Pavilion is the primary home to the UConn Huskies men's basketball and women's basketball teams. It was formerly the home of the women's volleyball team. Since the late 1990s, the men's basketball team has played most of its more important games at the XL Center in Hartford. During the 2011–12 season, the men's basketball team played 11 home games in Hartford and only eight at Gampel. The pavilion is the centerpiece of the UConn Sports Center, which also includes Wolff-Zackin Natatorium.

The Storrs Agricultural Experiment Station (SAES) is an American agricultural experiment station operated by the University of Connecticut and founded in 1887. Part of UConn's College of Agriculture, Health, and Natural Resources, the SAES directs agriculture-related research while the university's Cooperative Extension Service engages in community education and outreach. Kumar Venkitanarayanan is the Station's associate director. Its offices are located in the W. B. Young Building in Storrs.
