Madison County Nature Trail

Jones Valley is an urbanized valley and region of Huntsville, Alabama. The community is bordered by Monte Sano Mountain and Green Mountain to the east and Waltons Mountain to the west. Jones Valley houses a variety of homes, ranging from mid-century houses to mountaintop estates. A park called Jones Farm Park sits adjacent to Carl T. Jones Drive. It contains miles of walking trails and two ponds. The Ledges, a private golf club and gated community, is also located in Jones Valley.

The Clement C. Clay Bridge (CC Clay Bridge or Whitesburg Bridge) is a two bridge span over the Tennessee River just south of Huntsville in the northern part of the U.S. state of Alabama. Both bridges are cantilever truss types. The original bridge span was built in 1931, replacing Whites Ferry which crossed the river at nearby Ditto Landing. The second span was constructed in 1965. Upon completion, the newer span carried southbound traffic while the original span carried northbound traffic. The Clay bridge was named after former Alabama Governor and Senator Clement Comer Clay. The 1931 span was replaced by a reinforced concrete structure, which opened in June 2006. Demolition of the original span began on August 16, 2006.The bridge carries US-231 and unsigned SR-53 between the Huntsville Metropolitan Area and the Decatur Metropolitan Area. Before the 1952 extension of US-231, the bridge carried SR-38. North of the bridge, US-231 is known as Memorial Parkway.

Owens Cross Roads is a city in Madison County, Alabama, United States, and is included in the Huntsville-Decatur Combined Statistical Area. It was incorporated in 1967. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 2,594. The City has a mayor-council form of government.

Blevins Gap Nature Preserve is a nature preserve in southern Huntsville, Alabama. It measures 994 acres (402 ha) in total and contains over 12 miles of trails within its borders. Cecil Ashburn Drive splits the preserve into two parts. The northern section measures 267 acres (108 ha) with 4.5 miles of trails, a rocky incline, and waterfalls. The southern portion measures the remaining 727 acres (294 ha) and contains 8 miles of woodland trails.The trail system was designated as a National Recreation Trail in 2012.

Hobbs Island is an unincorporated community in Madison County, Alabama, United States.

Big Cove is an unincorporated community in Madison County, Alabama, United States. It is located roughly seven miles southeast of downtown Huntsville. Big Cove also encompasses the growing community of Hampton Cove. The city of Huntsville has annexed most of the community.

Virgil I. Grissom High School, more commonly referred to as Grissom High School, is a public high school in Huntsville, Alabama, United States with approximately 2000 students in grades 9–12 from Southeast Huntsville. The school was named a 2007 Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. In the Newsweek ranking of schools throughout the nation in 2015, Grissom High School was ranked second-best in the state and 390th nationally.

Hampton Cove is a master-planned housing subdivision located in Big Cove area of Huntsville, Alabama. Situated in the foothills and valleys of North Alabama's Cumberland Plateau, the 2,800-acre (11 km2) Housing lies in the coves between Monte Sano Mountain and Green Mountain to the west, and Keel Mountain to the east. Hampton Cove has 2,000 homes in twenty one different areas ranging from patio homes and townhomes to family homes and multimillion-dollar estates. The community has 28 stocked lakes, 3 golf courses, and 20 miles (32 km) of sidewalks and paths. Hampton Cove is adjacent to the 538 acres (2.18 km2) Hays Nature Preserve and the Big Cove Creek Greenway. Hampton Cove is unincorporated and shares land with Huntsville, Gurley, Owens Cross Roads, and Big Cove. They currently do not have a high school or their own zip code. The average household income in 2018 is stated to be 145,000.

Randolph School is an American independent private Pre-K-through-12th-grade college preparatory school chartered in 1959 in Huntsville, Madison County, Alabama. It started in a home on Randolph Avenue in downtown Huntsville with a handful of elementary classes. A few years later it moved to a much larger 17-acre (6.9 ha) campus on Drake Avenue, where it is now located, gradually adding grade levels until having a graduating high school class in the early 1970s. In 1998, the school purchased 50 acres (20 ha) of land on Garth Road, less than 1 mile (1.6 km) from the Drake Avenue campus. The new high school opened for the 2009–2010 school year. For the fine arts, the new facilities include a new theater with stadium seating, a workshop for stagecraft, band and choral rooms, and new restroom facilities. In total, Randolph has two gymnasiums, four tennis courts, two practice fields and professionally maintained fields for football, baseball, softball and soccer.

Greengate School for Dyslexia is a private, non-profit school located in Huntsville, Madison County, Alabama. Established in 2002, Greengate School provides a full-time elementary program for children with dyslexia in Huntsville. Starting with three students in a church, Greengate had 32 students in 2006 and 19 teachers. The school has a 4:1 student teacher ratio and is a member of the International Dyslexia Association. In 2010 Greengate School received accreditation from the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS), the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators (see Orton-Gillingham). Greengate is one of only 14 schools in the country accredited by the Orton-Gillingham Academy for Practitioners and Educators. In March 2018 Greengate became a division of Randolph School and moved to Randolph's Drake Avenue campus. The Greengate School at Randolph serves children in grades 1-8 and provides dyslexic students a specialized program of instruction that meets their individual learning needs while offering them a full complement of co-curricular and extra-curricular school experiences. Founded in 1959, Randolph is the only K-12 independent college preparatory school in the region.

Burritt on the Mountain is an open-air museum in Huntsville, Alabama. The museum grounds on Round Top Mountain, a plateau connected to Monte Sano Mountain, were the estate of local physician William Burritt, who willed his house and land to the city for use as a museum upon his death in 1955. A number of 19th-century rural structures have been added to Burritt's mansion, both in the interest of historical preservation and life re-enactment.

New Hope is a city in Madison County, Alabama, United States, and is included in the Huntsville-Decatur Combined Statistical Area. As of the 2020 census, the population was 2,889.
