The Castle Arcade is a shopping arcade in Cardiff, South Wales. Started in 1887, it runs south from opposite Cardiff Castle, and then turns east to exit on the High Street, north of St Mary Street, in the Castle Quarter. One of the longer of Cardiff's famous Victorian arcades, it is also one of Cardiff's only two level shopping arcades, the other being Cardiff Market. Today Castle Arcade is home to a variety of small boutique shops including cafes, delicatessens, fair-trade and organic retailers. There are also several shops on the gallery level. Castle Arcade was Grade II* listed in 1975, being the "finest of Cardiff's Victorian arcades". The four storey entrance block facing onto the High Street is separately listed, also as Grade II*.

Clwb Ifor Bach (Welsh pronunciation: [ˈklʊb ˈivɔr ˈbaːχ], meaning Little Ivor's Club) is a Cardiff nightclub, music venue, Welsh-language club and community centre. It is known to the Cardiff Welsh-speaking community as Clwb (English: Club) and is often known by others on the Cardiff music scene as The Welsh Club. Clwb Ifor Bach is used as a social centre by Welsh speaking people in Cardiff, as well as by many non-Welsh speakers. Until recent years, the club had a number of regular members only nights. This policy has been discontinued. Clwb Ifor Bach is the focal point for many Welsh-medium organisations and events in the area: social, educational, sporting and otherwise. English and Welsh are spoken equally throughout the club, and most staff are required to be bilingual. No anti-Welsh sentiment is tolerated in the club.

Womanby Street is one of the oldest streets in Cardiff, the capital of Wales. Tracing its name back to origins within the Norse language, its original purpose was to link Cardiff Castle to its quay. In this way it became a trade hub and settling point for those incomers who made the city their home. Throughout its history the street has had several pubs, and today has several bars and clubs.

Jackson Hall is a Grade II listed building on Westgate Street, in central Cardiff. It was designed by John Prichard and George Robinson and built in 1878. It stands adjacent to the Cardiff and Country Club. Behind Jackson Hall is the Millennium Stadium. The hall was opened as the Racquets and Fives Club hall as a home for players of racquets, squash and lawn tennis and fives at a cost of £2,300. The cost was met by the Bute Estate under the guidance of John Crichton-Stuart, 3rd Marquess of Bute.The hall was used as Cardiff's Juvenile Employment Bureau until 1967 and subsequently as a polling station, and office for employment benefit registrants. Demolition of the hall and its replacement by the re-siting of the Ebenezer Welsh Congregational Church in Charles Street was vetoed in 1975 by John Morris, the Secretary of State for Wales, and it was subsequently listed Grade II for its architectural merit, as was the Ebenezer Congregational Church. A 99-year lease on the hall was sold to the Barry firm Hamard Catering Ltd. in October 1978, and it subsequently re-opened as Jackson's, a health club. The hall was branch of Yates's Wine Lodge for several years until 2007, when it became the home of the Welsh Rugby Union gift shop.

Cardiff Athletic Club (CAC) is a multi-sport club based in Cardiff, Wales. It is the owner of the Cardiff Arms Park site, however, it is also a major shareholder of Cardiff Rugby Football Club Ltd and therefore has a large influence over the rugby club's two sides.Cardiff Athletic Club was established in 1922, and has been the main body responsible for much of the premier amateur sporting activities in Cardiff. The Athletic Club has cricket, rugby union, field hockey, tennis and bowls sections.

The Four Bars Inn was a jazz club and public house in Cardiff, Wales, later known as 'Dempseys' and (since 2017) 'Elevens'. The pub was originally called "The Globe" and dates back to 1731. It has also been known as "Dukes", before becoming "The Four Bars Inn" and later an Irish themed bar called "Dempseys".The jazz club was founded by Jed Williams in 1987, who was also musical director of the Brecon Jazz Festival. Williams, together with vocalist/trombonist Mike Harries formed the Inn's house band The Root Doctors. The Inn featured live jazz seven days a week for many years. American blues and rock'n'roll legend Nappy Brown appeared there on 13 June 1988. Live jazz was performed once or twice per week.In 2009 the Four Bars Inn was named by the Brecon Jazz Festival as one of 12 venues which had made the most important contributions to jazz music in the United Kingdom.

The Cardiff district (Welsh: Caerdydd) was one of the two local government districts of South Glamorgan in Wales from 1974 to 1996. The district comprised the area of the former county borough of Cardiff and several surrounding parishes. Letters patent continuing the city status of the county borough were granted on 1 April 1974. The district was therefore styled the City of Cardiff, governed by Cardiff City Council. The district was formed by the Local Government Act 1972, from the county borough of Cardiff, the parishes of Lisvane, Llanedeyrn, Radyr, St. Fagans and Tongwynlais from the former Cardiff Rural district in the administrative county of Glamorgan and the parish of St Mellons from the Magor and St Mellons Rural District in the administrative county of Monmouthshire.The district was abolished in 1996 by the Local Government (Wales) Act 1994, when it was reconstituted, with the addition of Pentyrch, as the City and County of Cardiff.

The Cardiff Centenary Walk is a tourist walkway through Cardiff city centre in Wales. Established as part of Cardiff's centennial celebrations to mark 100 years of city status in 2005, it has 41 points of interest, either Cardiff landmarks or significant historic sites. The route is marked by waymarkers on the pavement, which also direct pedestrians to the next waymarker. The whole walk is 3.6 kilometres (2.2 mi) long running around Cardiff in a clockwise direction, starting and finishing at the Cardiff Visitor Centre at the Old Library.

Firing Line: Cardiff Castle Museum of the Welsh Soldier (Welsh: Tanio llinell: Amgueddfa Castell Caerdydd o'r Milwr Cymreig) is a museum which exhibits the collections of the 1st The Queen's Dragoon Guards and the Royal Welsh. It occupies the lower floor of the interpretation centre at Cardiff Castle.

The Angel Hotel is a hotel on a prominent corner of Castle Street and Westgate Street in the centre of Cardiff, Wales. Tracing its history back to at least the 18th century, for much of its existence it has been one of the major hotels in Cardiff, visited by celebrities and prime ministers.

Stadium House (Welsh: Tŷ Stadiwm) in Park Street, Cardiff, Wales, is the third tallest building in Cardiff, Wales, which stands next to the Millennium Stadium. The 255 feet (78 m) tall building is owned by BT Group, and underwent a £7.1 million refurbishment programme in 2002. Work started on the building in March 1974 and was completed in 1976. The building is now clad in white and blue, while the roof is topped with a 131 feet (40 m) stainless steel spire, which was lit up green and white in the evening, to complement the cladding. The addition of this spire qualifies the building as the tallest in Cardiff and Wales, at 390 feet (120 m), if the spire is included. This building is also an internet exchange point. The building is clad in a composite material. Numerous incidents of the cladding falling off the building have resulted in adjacent roads being closed.

Cardiff Roman Fort was a coastal fort in the Roman province of Britannia Superior, of which Roman Wales was a part. Its original Latin name is uncertain. Its remains are incorporated into Cardiff Castle in the modern capital city of Wales.
