Sturt River

Keswick Creek and Glen Osmond Creek together form a watercourse flowing through the inner south-eastern, south-western and western suburbs of the Adelaide metropolitan area, in the Australian state of South Australia. The watercourse is part of the Patawalonga River catchment.The water course has been extensively altered since European settlement to manage stormwater flows and avoid flooding in the heavily populated urban areas through which it passes.

The West Beach Skate Park, also known as the Adelaide Shores Skate and BMX Park, is a skatepark in West Beach, South Australia, a beach-side suburb of Adelaide. It is located in Africaine Street, between Military Road and Tapleys Hill Road, 10 kilometers west of the city centre and near the Adelaide Airport.The park has a 4 metres (13 feet) vert ramp with extensions and 18 metres (59 feet) wide, making it one of the biggest vert ramps in the Southern Hemisphere. The park also has a large bowl as well as a beginners’ bowl, rails, small quarters and a street circuit. Lights enable safe evening skating. The park also contains a dirt BMX track with a series of jumps. Tony Hawk visited the park in 2009. The ramp and bowls were designed and built commencing in 2000, and include a kiosk and BBQ facilities. The BMX track was added in 2004. Secondary school students were involved in the construction of the park and its various stages.The skate park hosts regular events, including the first South Australian pro scooter competition on 16 and 17 March 2013.

Glenelg was an electoral district of the House of Assembly in the Australian state of South Australia from 1938 to 1985.The Holdfast Bay area has long been a conservative stronghold, and Glenelg was one of the few Adelaide-area seats where the Liberal and Country League consistently did well. The pattern was broken at the 1965 state election, when Glenelg was one of two Labor gains that helped Labor finally beat the Playmander and end 33 years of LCL rule. Labor retained the seat even as it lost government in 1968. The LCL regained it in 1970 even as Labor won a convincing victory in the first election held after a major electoral reform gave Adelaide a majority of seats in the legislature. The seat quickly reverted to its traditional status as a safely conservative seat. Glenelg was abolished in a boundary redistribution prior to the 1985 election with much of the area merged into the seat of Morphett.

Morphett is a single-member electoral district for the South Australian House of Assembly. The electorate is located approximately 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) slightly south of west of the Adelaide city centre, bounded by the Holdfast Bay coastline to the west and Marion Road to the east. It is approximately 14 km2 (5.4 sq mi) in area, and includes the suburbs of Camden Park, Glenelg, Glenelg East, Glenelg North, Glenelg South, Glengowrie, Morphettville, Novar Gardens, and Park Holme, as well as a portion of Somerton Park. Created in 1976 following the electoral redistribution which took effect from the 1977 election, the electoral district was named after Sir John Morphett (1809–1892) who lived in the Morphettville area and was speaker of the enlarged Legislative Council in 1851, and president of the elected Legislative Council from 1865 to 1873. On its creation, Morphett was a notionally marginal Liberal electorate. However, it was won by the Dunstan Labor government in its landslide 1977 election victory, and was Labor's only marginal seat. The Liberals won it at the 1979 election and have held it ever since. The Liberal hold on the electorate was considerably strengthened when the safe Liberal seat of Glenelg was abolished at the 1983 redistribution and largely merged with Morphett. Duncan McFetridge resigned from the Liberal Party and moved to the crossbench as an independent in May 2017 after losing Liberal pre-selection for Morphett to City of Holdfast Bay mayor Stephen Patterson ahead of the 2018 election. Patterson was successful at the election.

The Patawalonga River is a river located in the western suburbs of the Adelaide metropolitan area, in the Australian state of South Australia. It drains an area of flat, swampy lands formerly known as the Cowandilla Plains or The Reedbeds, which in the mid-20th century were drained by engineering works, enabling the establishment of Adelaide Airport and the development of residential housing. Its catchment area is in the western Adelaide Hills, and it drains into Gulf St Vincent south of Glenelg. The Barcoo Outlet was completed in 2001 to divert dirty stormwater from the river mouth and out to sea and creating a small lake or lagoon at the river mouth instead. There was a large flood in 2003, which flooded homes in the vicinity. Its name is derived from the Kaurna language, meaning "the place of the swamp gum".

Glenelg North is a seaside suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. It is located in both the City of Holdfast Bay and the City of West Torrens.

The Old Gum Tree (also known as The Proclamation Tree) is a historic site in Glenelg North, South Australia. Near this tree on 28 December 1836, the British governor John Hindmarsh delivered the proclamation announcing the establishment of Government of the colony of South Australia. A ceremony is held each year at the site on Proclamation Day, with the current Governor reading out Hindmarsh's original speech.The tree itself, probably a red gum, had died by 1907. Its decayed outer surface was encased in concrete in 1963.It was listed on the now-defunct Register of the National Estate in 1978 and listed on the South Australian Heritage Register in 1980.

The Holdfast Bay is a small bay in Gulf St Vincent, next to Adelaide, South Australia. Along its shores lie the local government area of the City of Holdfast Bay and the suburbs of Glenelg and Glenelg North

Diamond Sports Stadium (also known as Bennett Field at Adelaide Shores) is a 5,000 capacity baseball stadium located in West Beach, South Australia. The stadium is the venue of the Adelaide Giants who play in the Australian Baseball League. The stadium is located at Barratt Reserve on West Beach Road adjacent to the Adelaide International Airport.

Novar Gardens is an inner south-western suburb of Adelaide, South Australia, in the City of West Torrens. Originally to be called Morphettville, the name was changed to honour the family estate of Ronald Munro Ferguson, 1st Viscount Novar, Governor-General of Australia from 1914 to 1920, who visited the site of the future suburb in 1919. On his return to Britain, Munro Ferguson was created 1st Viscount Novar. The historic Cummins House in Sheoak Avenue is listed on the South Australian Heritage Register.

Camden Park is a suburb of the city of Adelaide, South Australia. Camden Park is in the City of West Torrens local government area. It is split between the South Australian House of Assembly electoral districts of Ashford and West Torrens. At the federal level, Camden Park is in the Division of Hindmarsh. Camden Park Post Office closed in 1990.

Luna Park Glenelg was an amusement park that operated at Glenelg, South Australia from 1930 until 1935. Plans for an amusement park at the seaside town were first raised in 1928, but not acted upon. In 1929, a lease to build a scenic railway at Colley Reserve was granted by the Glenelg Town Council. This lease was expanded in 1930 to include other rides and attractions (similar to Luna Park Melbourne), and Luna Park Glenelg opened on 8 October 1930.During the park's operation, there was tension between the park's owners and the council, with the owners complaining that they were not making enough to be profitable, and the council refusing to reduce rent or allow increased operating hours. Residents of the town also felt the amusement park was attracting undesirables. The owners began seeking alternate locations, placed the park into voluntary liquidation in late 1934, then purchased the company's assets at auction on 8 April 1935. The rides and amusements were relocated to Sydney, with Luna Park Sydney opened in October 1935.
