Żarka nad Nysą [ˈʐarka ˌnad ˈnɨsɔ̃] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Pieńsk, within Zgorzelec County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland, close to the German border.It lies approximately 6 kilometres (4 mi) south of Pieńsk, 6 kilometres (4 mi) north of Zgorzelec, and 142 kilometres (88 mi) west of the regional capital Wrocław. The village has a population of 167.

Zgorzelec Miasto (lit. Zgorzelec Town) is one of the two railway stations in the town of Zgorzelec, Lower Silesia, Poland. Since May 2007, the three-storey building located at the station is owned by the railway. After reconstruction, which is still pending, the building will become a combined railway and bus station with a shopping gallery. Until then, the ticket office serving the station is located in a kiosk nearby.

Ludwigsdorf is a village and a former municipality in Saxony, Germany. It belongs to Görlitz since 1 January 1999. It has 757 inhabitants (July 2021). Together with the village Ober-Neundorf it is the northernmost part of the city.

Łagów [ˈwaɡuf] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Zgorzelec, within Zgorzelec County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland, close to the German border.It lies approximately 3 kilometres (2 mi) east of Zgorzelec, and 140 kilometres (87 mi) west of the regional capital Wrocław. The village has a population of 1,236.

Zgorzelec County (Polish: powiat zgorzelecki) is a unit of territorial administration and local government (powiat) in Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Poland. It came into being on January 1, 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998. It is situated in the extreme south-west of Poland, bordering both Germany and the Czech Republic. The county covers an area of 838.1 square kilometres (323.6 sq mi). Its administrative seat is Zgorzelec, on the German border; the other towns in the county are Bogatynia, Pieńsk, Zawidów and Węgliniec. As of 2019 the total population of the county is 89,612. The most populated towns are Zgorzelec with 30,374 inhabitants and Bogatynia with 17,436 inhabitants.

Gmina Zgorzelec is a rural gmina (administrative district) in Zgorzelec County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland, on the German border. Its seat is the town of Zgorzelec, although the town is not part of the territory of the gmina. The gmina covers an area of 136.02 square kilometres (52.5 sq mi), and as of 2019 its total population is 8,504.

Zgorzelec ([zɡɔˈʐɛlɛt͡s] (listen), German: Görlitz, Silesian: Gorlice, Upper Lusatian German dialect: Gerlz, Gerltz, and Gerltsch, Upper Sorbian: Zhorjelc, Lower Sorbian: Zgórjelc, Czech: Zhořelec) is a town in southwestern Poland with 30,374 inhabitants (2019). It lies in Lower Silesian Voivodeship. It is the seat of Zgorzelec County and of Gmina Zgorzelec (although it is not part of the territory of the latter, as the town is an urban gmina in its own right). Zgorzelec is located on the Lusatian Neisse river, on the Polish-German border adjoining the German town of Görlitz, of which it constituted the eastern part up to 1945.

The Lower Market Square is the central square in the historic town of Görlitz. The city's town hall and thus most of the administration have been located on this square since 1350. Many of the city's Renaissance-styled buildings were built here.

The Battle of Moys was a battle fought on 7 September 1757 during the Third Silesian War (part of the Seven Years' War). A Prussian army of 13,000 men fought an Austrian army of double their size. The Prussians were defeated and their commander killed. The battle was fought near Moys in Upper Lusatia, present-day Ujazd, a district of Zgorzelec in Poland.

Żarki Średnie [ˈʐarki ˈɕrɛdɲɛ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Pieńsk, within Zgorzelec County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland, close to the German border.The village has an approximate population of 630.

Zgorzelec is the railway station located in the Ujazd district of Zgorzelec, Lower Silesia, Poland. It is one of the two railway stations in the town, the other being Zgorzelec Miasto.

The Görlitz Department Store in Görlitz in the German state of Saxony is one of the best preserved department stores from the beginning of the 20th century. It is built in the Art Nouveau style and was operated as a department store until 15 August 2009. The city and a citizens' action group tried to revitalize the department store, which in 2012 housed only a beauty shop. In 2013, a private investor was found who wanted to operate the facility as a universal department store much like the Department Store of Upper Lusatia (Kaufhaus der Oberlausitz, KaDeO), a counterpart to the Berlin department store Kaufhaus des Westens (KaDeWe).
