The Brookside Shopping District is located in the Brookside neighborhood of Kansas City, Missouri at 63rd Street & Brookside Boulevard. This district was founded in 1920 as Kansas City's first suburban shopping center.

St. Andrew's Episcopal Church is a parish of the Episcopal Church in Kansas City, Missouri, in the Diocese of West Missouri. The church is located on the southwest corner of Meyer Boulevard and Wornall Road in Kansas City, Missouri. The Reverend John Spicer is rector. The Reverend Anne Hutcherson is associate rector. The Reverend Melissa Roberts George is the assistant rector. The deacon is the Ven. Bruce Bower. St. Andrew's holds worship services with Eucharist three times every week. The church has approximately 1,500 members and welcomes all people to worship. The rector, associate rector, assistant rector, and deacon are the spiritual leaders at St. Andrew's. An 18-member vestry, led by a senior warden and junior warden, serves as lay leaders. Melissa Rock is the current Senior Warden and Lora Kokjer serves as Junior Warden. The vestry and clergy share mutual responsibility for establishing and fulfilling the church's mission and vision. Six vestry members are elected for a three-year term each year in January at an all-parish meeting. Nominations take place in the summer prior to the January election.

The John Wornall House Museum is a historic house museum in Kansas City, Missouri. The museum, located at 6115 Wornall Road in the Brookside area of Kansas City, is furnished to represent the daily life of a prosperous, pre-Civil War family.

Southwest Early College Campus, often shortened to Southwest, was a university preparatory middle school and high school campus located at 6512 Wornall Road in Kansas City, Missouri, 64113, United States. It was part of the Kansas City, Missouri School District. The school closed on May 17, 2016.

Armour Hills is a neighborhood located in Kansas City, Missouri. It is bounded on the west by Brookside Road, on the north by 65th Street, on the east by Oak Street and the south by Gregory Boulevard. The name of this area derives from the fact that the land was owned by members of the Armour family of the Armour and Company. The land was purchased from the Armours by J.C. Nichols in May 1922, and construction continued for the next decade. Nichols stipulated that each home should look unique. So, the 1,068 homes in this neighborhood range from Tudor Revival, Cape Cod, and Dutch Colonials built with brick, stone, and wood in many different sizes.

The Country Club District is the name of a group of neighborhoods comprising a historic upscale residential district in Kansas City, developed by noted real estate developer J.C. Nichols. The district was developed in stages between 1906 and 1950, and today is home to approximately 60,000 and includes such well-known Kansas City neighborhoods as Sunset Hill and Brookside in Missouri, Mission Hills, Fairway, and the oldest parts of Prairie Village in Kansas, making it the largest planned community built by a single developer in the United States. Ward Parkway, a wide, manicured boulevard, traverses the district running south from the Country Club Plaza, the first suburban shopping district in the United States.

St. Teresa's Academy is a Catholic, independent secondary school for girls in Kansas City, Missouri, United States. It was founded in 1866 by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, and accredited in 1923.

[1] University Academy is a Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade college-preparatory charter public school in Kansas City, Missouri. University Academy serves approximately 1,100 students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade who reside in the Kansas City Missouri Schools District (“KCMSD”). As a charter public school, University Academy admits students on the basis of a random lottery drawn from a pool of applicants. All applicants must reside within the boundaries of the Kansas City Missouri Schools District.

The Battle of Westport, sometimes referred to as the "Gettysburg of the West", was fought on October 23, 1864, in modern Kansas City, Missouri, during the American Civil War. Union forces under Major General Samuel R. Curtis decisively defeated an outnumbered Confederate force under Major General Sterling Price. This engagement was the turning point of Price's Missouri Expedition, forcing his army to retreat. The battle ended the last major Confederate offensive west of the Mississippi River, and for the remainder of the war the United States Army maintained solid control over most of Missouri. This battle was one of the largest to be fought west of the Mississippi River, with over 30,000 men engaged.
