Western Michigan Christian High School (commonly Western Michigan Christian, WMCHS, or WMC) is a 7-12 private, Calvinist Christian school in Muskegon, Michigan, United States. It is accredited by the Michigan Association of Non-Public Schools, and is a member of Christian Schools International (CSI).

Muskegon County Airport (IATA: MKG, ICAO: KMKG, FAA LID: MKG) is a county-owned, public-use airport in Muskegon County, Michigan, United States. The airport is located four nautical miles (5 mi, 7 km) south of the central business district of Muskegon, Michigan, in Norton Shores. It is mostly used for general aviation but is also served by Southern Airways Express flying Cessna 208 Caravan aircraft to Chicago-O'Hare, subsidized by the Essential Air Service program. As per the Federal Aviation Administration, this airport had 30,051 passenger boardings (enplanements) in calendar year 2008, 15,886 in 2009, and 13,088 in 2010. It is included in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2017–2021, in which it is categorized as a non-hub primary commercial service facility.

WKBZ was a radio station on 1520 kHz in Muskegon Heights, Michigan. It broadcast between 1963 and 2001 and was last owned by WLC Broadcasting.

Pleasure Island Water Theme Park was a water park located on 25 acres (100,000 m2) in Muskegon, Michigan located at 99 E. Pontaluna Road. The park operated in the 1980s and 1990s, consisting of 13 water slides, mini golf, a beach with zip line, paddle boats, gas-powered bumper boats, a lazy river, and a children' swim area with three small water slides. The feature attraction was a water slide named the Black Hole which was built into a hill and started out with a steep drop which then circled back into the hill, finally coming out of the hill into a pool of water at the base. Pleasure Island was also known for the food served at the Weenie Hut. When nearby Michigan's Adventure added its WildWater Adventure water park, the competition was too much and Pleasure Island closed. The park was auctioned off in 1997. The property later became a subdivision, named Windflower Bay.

Ferrysburg is a city in Ottawa County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 2,892 at the 2010 census. Spring Lake Township borders the city on the north and east, though it is administratively autonomous. The village of Spring Lake is located to the southeast, on the opposite side of Spring Lake from Ferrysburg. The city of Grand Haven is located to the south, on the opposite side of the Grand River. Lake Michigan is to the west of the city. US 31 passes north-south through the city and M-104 has its western terminus at US 31 in Ferrysburg.

Spring Lake Township is a civil township of Ottawa County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 13,140 according to the 2000 census and 14,300 according to the 2010 census. The village of Spring Lake is located within the township. The city of Ferrysburg is south of the township bordering Lake Michigan, the Grand River and Spring Lake. On the south side of the Grand River is the city of Grand Haven and Grand Haven Charter Township. Crockery Township is to the east and Muskegon County is to the north. It was established in 1855.

Mona Lake is a freshwater lake located in Norton Shores just outside the city of Muskegon in the U.S. state of Michigan (Muskegon County). Mona Lake is a sandy bottom lake that flows into Lake Michigan via the Mona Lake channel.

Muskegon Heights is a city in Muskegon County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 9,985 at the 2020 census.

Muskegon Correctional Facility (MCF) is a prison of the Michigan Department of Corrections located in Muskegon, Michigan. The prison opened in 1974. Additional housing units opened since then to accommodate more prisoners.In 2010 the state of Michigan shut the prison down for two weeks to prepare for an arrival of prisoners from Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania had a contract with Michigan to house state prisoners in MCF, in order to alleviate overcrowding in the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections. Over 1,100 Pennsylvania prisoners were housed at MCF. The John S. Hausman of the Muskegon Chronicle said that the Pennsylvania contract was expected to be about four or five years long.After the opening of additional state prisons in Pennsylvania was imminent, Pennsylvania withdrew its prisoners from MCF in 2011. Beginning in late April 2011, one group of about 240 prisoners was moved out of MCF each week. Wednesday, May 25, 2011, was the final day of operations, and the final "ride-out" of 239 Pennsylvania prisoners occurred on that day.After the 2011 shutdown, 200 job positions ended. Most employees of MCF accepted vacant positions in the prison system or took jobs that were held by other prison system employees with less seniority.The facility reopened in October 2012.
