Stittsville

Stittsville (Ward 6) is a city ward in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, represented on Ottawa City Council. It consists of the community of Stittsville in suburban Ottawa. Prior to the 2006 election, the Ward was known as Goulbourn Ward which consisted of the former Goulbourn Township (including Stittsville and Richmond). The ward was altered in 2006, by losing all of the rural parts of Goulbourn (including urban Richmond) and gaining a tiny bit of the former city of Kanata around the Canadian Tire Centre. The ward was created when Goulbourn was amalgamated into Ottawa in 2000. It was known as Stittsville-Kanata West Ward until 2010. In 2014, the ward expanded to gain the newly built Blackstone subdivision from Rideau-Goulbourn Ward. Following the 2020 Ottawa Ward boundary review, the ward will gain new territory on its northern and southern edges to accommodate proposed housing developments.Stittsville's current councillor is Glen Gower, who replaced Shad Qadri after defeating him in the 2018 election. Mr. Qadri replaced Janet Stavinga in the 2006 election, in which Ms. Stavinga did not run. She had held the ward since its creation.

Old Stittsville is a community in Ontario. It is the old part of the suburban community of Stittsville in Ottawa.

Sacred Heart Catholic High School is a secondary school of the Ottawa Catholic School Board in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It serves as a middle school and also as a high school, having classes from grades seven to twelve. The team name is the Sacred Heart Huskies with the colours white, red and black. Sacred Heart's feeder schools include Guardian Angels Catholic Elementary School, Holy Spirit Catholic Elementary School, St. Phillips Catholic Elementary School, St. Stephen's Catholic Elementary School, Sittsville Public School and Westwind Public School.

Stittsville Transitway Station is a bus-stop on Ottawa, Ontario's transitway served by OC Transpo buses. It located on Shea Road at the Goulbourn Recreation Complex in Stittsville, Ontario. It is the western terminus of some route 61 trips. A park and ride facility is also located in Stittsville but it is not served by the 61 (only express route 262 runs by the facility near Carp Road and Highway 417). Service on route 61 to/from this station generally operates every 30 minutes during all time periods, except 15 minute peak service on route 61C (eastbound in the morning and westbound in the afternoon) and hourly frequencies on weekend evenings.Service on route 61 and route 61C have been shortened to start/end at the Goulbourn Recreation Complex on Shea Road. Route 62 provides service on Granite Ridge Drive, previously served by route 61 and 61C.As of 28 June 2015, route 96A trips were replaced by route 92 (now route 62). Route 62 operates on Campeau Drive between Kanata Avenue and Eagleson Road, replacing local route 164. At the same time, both route 61 and route 62 were shortened to start/end at St-Laurent Station, as the eastern leg of the Transitway is being converted to LRT for the Confederation Line by 2018. Service on route 62 otherwise is the same as route 96A within Kanata and Stittsville. Route 62 only services Stittsville during weekday peak periods and weekday midday at 30 minute headway (as was the case with route 96A).

Canadian Tire Centre (French: Centre Canadian Tire) is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, located in the western suburb of Kanata. It opened in January 1996 as the Palladium and was also known as Corel Centre (French: Centre Corel) from 1996 to 2006 and Scotiabank Place (French: Place Banque Scotia) from 2006 to 2013. The arena is primarily used for ice hockey, serving as the home arena of the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League (NHL) since its opening in 1996, and as a temporary home for the Ottawa 67's of the Ontario Hockey League during renovations at its arena. The arena is also used regularly for music concerts and has hosted events such as the Canadian Interuniversity Sport men's basketball championship and the 2009 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships.

Canadian Tire Centre is an OC Transpo Station in Ottawa, Ontario. It is located in the north parking lot at the Canadian Tire Centre in the western suburb of Kanata. The station also has a park and ride facility served weekdays between the hours of 5:45 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.There is an on-ramp to eastbound Highway 417 for buses from the station.

The Bell Sensplex is a four-pad ice facility, located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is the primary practice facility of the Ottawa Senators NHL team. In a partnership with the city of Ottawa, it is also used for minor hockey and hosts the annual Bell Capital Cup ice hockey tournament. The Sensplex is located at 1565 Maple Grove Road in the former city of Kanata. It was also the home arena for the Ottawa Lady Senators of the Canadian Women's Hockey League.

Kanata Theatre (informally known as KT) is a community theatre organization, operates the Ron Maslin Playhouse, a 350-seat theatre located in the Kanata district of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It was opened in May 1996 by Merle Nicholds, then the mayor of Kanata, and Marianne Wilkinson. The Building was designed by Peter Smith, who also designed the Princess of Wales Theatre in Toronto. They stage 6 plays a year including and annual family musical.

Glen Cairn is a neighbourhood in Kanata South Ward in the west end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is also the name of a public school in the area. Prior to amalgamation in 2001, it was located in the City of Kanata. It is located in South Kanata, about 22 km (14 mi) west of Downtown Ottawa. It was one of the original neighbourhoods in Kanata. The community was built in the 1960s, and was part of Goulbourn Township until the creation of Kanata in 1978. As of the Canada 2016 Census, there were 11,836 people living in Glen Cairn.

Katimavik-Hazeldean is a neighbourhood in Kanata South Ward in the west end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is located in the former City of Kanata which amalgamated into Ottawa in 2001. It is located in south-central Kanata, bounded by Eagleson Road to the east, Hazeldean Road to the south, the Carp River to the west, and Highway 417 to the north.According to the Canada 2011 Census, the total population of the neighbourhood was 12,088.

A. Y. Jackson Secondary School is a community high school in the Glen Cairn neighbourhood of Kanata, a suburb in the west end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is part of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board and was first opened in 1976. The school was named after A. Y. Jackson, the famous Canadian painter, and one of the founders of the Group of Seven. AYJ had approximately 700 students attending its program in 2020–2021. The majority of students come from W.O. Mitchell Elementary School, Glen Cairn Public School, and Katimavik Elementary School, its four associate schools.

Hazeldean Mall is a shopping centre located in the Kanata district of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is located at the intersection of Eagleson Road and Hazeldean Road, where Hazeldean Road turns into Robertson Road. It was the first enclosed shopping centre constructed in Kanata. The development of the mall was approved shortly before the incorporation of the (then) City of Kanata, and its approval led to a legal battle between the constituent parts of the new municipality over the appropriate location of what would at that time be the new city's main commercial hub.
