Second Church of Christ, Scientist (Long Beach, California)

Pacific Avenue station, is an at-grade light rail station on the A Line of the Los Angeles Metro Rail system. The station is located in the median of Pacific Avenue, after which the station is named, between West 4th Street and West 5th Street, in the city of Long Beach, California. The station is located on a loop at the south end of the A Line route and only has northbound service.

The Long Beach Professional Building is a historic medical office building in downtown Long Beach, California added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. The eight-story Art Deco two-part vertical block building with its pink and black lobby was built in 1929. It was designed by architect William Douglas Lee. It is particularly notable as the city's first large office building devoted exclusively to medicine. It is a cast-in-place concrete building.It is also credited for introducing elements commonly found in the so-called "WPA Moderne" style of the 1930s. In 2018 the building was re-opened by owners, Global Premier Development, and now operates under the name Regency Palms as an Assisted Living and Memory Care facility run by Meridian Senior Living. KTGY Architecture + Planning was responsible for the historic renovation.

The Italian Romanesque Revival building has been designated as a Long Beach Historic Landmark and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.

The Masonic Temple at 230 Pine Ave. in downtown Long Beach, California was built in 1903. It is listed on the List of City of Long Beach historic landmarks.It is "one of the last remaining examples of eminent local architect Henry F. Starbuck, who designed many of the city's turn-of-the-century buildings."It was renovated and restored in the 1980s, and was remodelled in the 1990s for use by Z Gallerie, a store. It later became an events venue. It is now home to the Altar Society Brewing & Coffee Company.

The city is over an oilfield with minor wells both directly beneath the city as well as offshore. Long Beach also hosts the Grand Prix of Long Beach, an IndyCar race and the Long Beach Pride Festival and Parade. California State University, Long Beach, one of the largest universities in California by enrollment, is within the city.

Long Beach Plaza was a two-level 675,716-square-foot (62,776.1 m2) shopping mall located in Downtown Long Beach, California. It was designed in the 1970s by The Hahn Company and opened in 1982. The eight-block dumbbell-shaped mall was an enclosed structure and included a two-story deck parking structure on both sides.The mall was previously anchored by J. C. Penney, Montgomery Ward and Buffums' (which closed in 1991). Problems with the mall included the fact that the mall structure (which included stores that faced inward) had no connection with the rest of Downtown Long Beach area. The closure of the nearby Naval stations in the 1990s also contributed to the slow demise of the mall. In 1999, the mall was purchased by DDR Corp., Coventry Real Estate Partners and Prudential Real Estate as a joint venture. In 2000, the mall was demolished except for the parking structure. DDR eventually rebuilt the area and renamed it Long Beach City Place.

Bembridge House, also known as Green-Rankin-Bembridge House, is a registered historic building located across from Drake Park in the Willmore neighborhood of Long Beach, California. The ornate and well-preserved Queen Anne Victorian house was built in 1906. Musician and school teacher Dorothy Bembridge lived in the house from 1918 until she was murdered there in 1999. The house was acquired by Long Beach Heritage in 2000.

The First National Bank (also known as the Metropolitan Building and the Enloe Building) building in downtown Long Beach, California is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The original bank building had three stories, which were surpassed in 1906 with the current building, designed by Los Angeles architects Robert F. Train and Robert E. Williams. The distinctive clock tower with its six-foot-diameter clock face was added in 1907. The structure was designed in a French Renaissance Revival style utilizing pressed yellow brick on the street sides and common red brick on the remaining two sides. A number of bank tenants have occupied the building, including (in order): The First National Bank of Long Beach (5456) (1906-1925) The California National Bank of Long Beach (11873) (1925-1929) California First National Bank of Long Beach (11873) (1929-1936) Bank of America, National Trust & Savings Association (13044) 1936 to sometime in the 1960s.During the 1950s, many of the original decorative elements such as the decorative cornice were removed or covered as part of modernizations efforts. In the 1980s, federal tax incentives motivated a project to restore the building to its original look and to repair the clock tower. Today, the ground floor of the building has housed L'Opera Ristorante since 1990.
