Orange Center Historic District (Orange, Massachusetts)

Orange is a town in Franklin County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 7,569 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Springfield, Massachusetts Metropolitan Statistical Area. Part of the town is included in the census-designated place of Orange.

The Massachusetts Peace Statue — It Shall Not Be Again, is a war memorial statue built in the town of Orange, Massachusetts in recognition of veterans who served in World War I. On February 25, 2000 the legislature designated it the official peace statue of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. "A memorial statue built in the town of Orange, Massachusetts in recognition of veterans who served in World War I and designated as the Orange Peace Statue shall be the official peace statue of the Commonwealth."The statue was created by sculptor Joseph Pollia (1894-1954) and dedicated on May 30,1934. According to Congressman John W. Olver of Massachusetts, this sculpture received national attention when it was dedicated in 1934 and First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt sent a letter commemorating the event.The sculpture depicts a doughboy just returned from the war-torn fields of France. He is seated wearily on a stump, and beside him stands a typical American schoolboy of perhaps 10 years, who is partially embraced by the soldier’s left arm. He appears to be listening intently to the soldier’s words with fist clenched.The statue appears in the fifth episode of Hulu's Stephen King inspired series, Castle Rock.

Grand Army of the Republic Hall, also known as the Grand Army of the Republic Memorial Hall, was an historic brick building located at 14 Prospect Street in Orange, Massachusetts in the United States. The hall was built by members of the GAR as a memorial to the Union Army veterans of the Civil War. It was one of many such halls built in the country. It is a contributing property in the Orange Center Historic District.

The Whitaker-Clary House is a historic house in New Salem, Massachusetts, United States. It currently houses the museum of the Swift River Historical Society. Built about 1816, it is a fine local example of Federal period architecture, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

Bear's Den (also called by the name of its most outstanding landmark, Bear's Den Falls) is a 6-acre (24,000 m2) nature reserve in New Salem, Massachusetts. The reservation is close to the Quabbin Reservoir and is owned by the Trustees of Reservations.

WJDF (97.3 FM) was a radio station licensed to serve Orange, Massachusetts. The station was owned by Deane Brothers Broadcasting Corp. It aired a full service classic hits music format. The station was assigned the WJDF call letters by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on June 30, 1995. It signed on in August 1995 with an adult contemporary format. In January 2014, WJDF reformatted to full-service classic hits. On November 30, 2018, the FCC warned WJDF of a potential for the revocation of their license if their debt was not paid within 60 days; at the time, the station owed $9,642 in regulatory fees dating to 2014. The station did not respond to the warning, and on April 4, 2019, WJDF's license was revoked by the FCC. At the time of the revocation, WJDF had been operated by Steve Wendell under a local marketing agreement, with plans for Wendell to acquire the station outright. Wendell subsequently announced his intention to file a $1.8 million lawsuit against Deane Brothers Broadcasting, as he had not been informed of the station's unpaid regulatory fees (which prevented renewal of the WJDF license and the proposed license transfer); in addition, the station had been silent from August to December 2018 after WJDF's transmitter was destroyed by two lightning strikes.

Erving State Forest is a publicly owned forest with recreational features located north of the Millers River in the towns of Erving, Warwick, and Orange, Massachusetts. The property is centered on Laurel Lake, a 51-acre (21 ha) body of water that has been a popular recreational destination since the 1930s. The forest's network of roads and hiking trails were largely created by the Civilian Conservation Corps. The forest is managed by the Department of Conservation and Recreation.
