Village West

Kansas Speedway is a 1.500 mi (2.414 km) tri-oval race track in the Village West area in Kansas City, Kansas. It was built in 2001 and it currently hosts two annual NASCAR race weekends. The IndyCar Series also held races at the venue until 2011. The speedway is owned and operated by NASCAR.

Legends Field is a baseball park in Kansas City, Kansas, located in the Kansas City neighborhood of Piper. It is the home of the Kansas City Monarchs of the American Association of Professional Baseball. It was formerly home of the Kansas City Wizards (now Sporting Kansas City) in the MLS and briefly home to the Kansas City Current of the NWSL in their inaugural year. It is located in the Village West area at 1800 Village West Parkway. Many local area High School teams, including Bonner Springs High School, in their annual Butch Foster Memorial Baseball Classic play at the ballpark. It has been used for concerts and some community events.

Legends Outlets Kansas City is a super-regional shopping mall located in the Village West development in Kansas City, Kansas. The mall has a gross leasable area of 1,200,000 square feet (110,000 m2).The shopping center is surrounded by various attractions and offers over 110 retail and restaurant outlets, including Dave & Buster's and Yard House. Popular department stores include Tory Burch, Michael Kors, Ann Taylor, Kate Spade, Nike, TJ Maxx, and H&M. Legends Outlets features an audio walking tour of over 80 Kansans represented visually on medallions, posters, murals, and sculptures. Legends Outlets honors Kansas legends in athletics, politics, science, art, and other fields. The theme is interwoven throughout the facility and offers information about Kansas’ history and heritage. Each corridor and courtyard is dedicated to a particular category of famous Kansans or aspect of the state’s history, such as a replica of The Wizard of Oz's Yellow Brick Road.In 2012, the mall went into foreclosure. After being repurchased by original developer Dan Lowe, it was renamed Legends Outlets Kansas City.

Children's Mercy Park is a soccer-specific stadium in Kansas City, Kansas, United States, and is the team home for Sporting Kansas City of Major League Soccer (MLS) and National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) club Kansas City Current. The stadium is located near Kansas Speedway, on the far west side of Wyandotte County, Kansas. It opened during the 2011 MLS season on June 9, 2011, with a match against the Chicago Fire. The stadium has a seating capacity of 18,467, which can expand to 25,000 for concerts. Most SKC games attract around 21,000 spectators because of different stadium modes. The stadium is Sporting Kansas City's third home venue; then known as the Kansas City Wizards, the team played in Arrowhead Stadium from 1996 to 2007 and CommunityAmerica Ballpark from 2008 to 2010. In 2013, the stadium hosted the MLS All-Star Game, the United States men's national soccer team, and the MLS Cup, and is the only stadium to host all three in the same year.

Chateau Avalon is a hotel located in Kansas City, Kansas. Chateau Avalon took its first reservations in June 2004. The idea for the hotel as a local, upscale, vacation destination was developed by Steve Beaumont, a businessman from Shawnee, Kansas. The 62 room hotel features 23 different types of themed rooms separated into categories: Luxury, Adventure and Classic suites.Named for its creator, Steve Beaumont, the Beaumont Fountain at Chateau Avalon is the largest structural fountain in Kansas City, a city known for fountains. The fountain took a year to build and was dedicated in August 2006.

Verrückt (German meaning "crazy" or "insane", ) was a water slide located at the Schlitterbahn Kansas City water park in Kansas City, Kansas, United States. At a height of 168 feet 7 inches (51.38 m), Verrückt became the world's tallest water slide when it opened on July 10, 2014, surpassing Kilimanjaro at Aldeia das Águas Park Resort in Brazil. The ride was designed at the park, led by John Schooley with assistance from park co-owner Jeff Henry. It was featured on an episode of Xtreme Waterparks on the Travel Channel in June 2014 shortly before the ride opened. Verrückt permanently closed in 2016 following a fatal incident involving the decapitation of Caleb Schwab, the 10-year-old son of Kansas state legislator (and later Secretary of State of Kansas) Scott Schwab.Verrückt was originally scheduled to open in June 2013, but difficulties during various stages of construction and safety testing resulted in several delays. Sandbags loaded into rafts during testing went airborne. The ride's final design made rafts reach a maximum speed of 70 mph (110 km/h). Verrückt was well-received upon opening, winning a Golden Ticket Award from Amusement Today in 2014. After Schwab's death, amusement park safety laws were updated to require state inspection of all attractions. It was later revealed that at least 13 other people had suffered non-fatal injuries from hitting the netting above the slide. Criminal charges led to the arrests of several individuals, including Schooley and Henry. The charges were ultimately dismissed with the finding of multiple procedural issues with the case's presentation by the Kansas Attorney General. The incident's aftermath, however, resulted in a rapid decline of Schlitterbahn's reputation and financial standing, resulting in the closure of the park in September 2018. Verrückt was dismantled two months later.

Schlitterbahn Waterpark Kansas City was a water park that opened on July 15, 2009 in Kansas City, Kansas. It was announced in September 2005 by Schlitterbahn Waterparks. What was to be a 370 acres (150 ha) $750 million development (in the end, only $180 million of work was ever completed) included a nearly 40-acre (160,000 m2) waterpark, which was Schlitterbahn's fourth waterpark and its first outside Texas. Groundbreaking took place September 18, 2007 on the land formerly occupied by the Wyandotte County Fairgrounds and the Unified Government courthouse annex, across Interstate 435 from the Kansas Speedway and Village West.

Piper is a neighborhood within Kansas City, Kansas, United States. Before Piper was annexed in 1991, it was formerly an unincorporated semi-rural area, similar to Turner.

The National Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame is a museum and educational facility in Bonner Springs, Kansas, United States. The group holds a congressional charter under Title 36 of the United States Code (issued in 1960). It is located east of K-7 and south of State Avenue (US-24, near 126th Street) next to the Sandstone Amphitheater and Kansas City Renaissance Festival. It is north of the Kansas Turnpike "Bonner Springs" exit, and about one mile (1.6 km) west of the Kansas Speedway.

Its metropolitan archbishop oversees an ecclesiastical province with three suffragan dioceses: the Dioceses of Dodge City, Salina, and Wichita.

The Kansas City Renaissance Festival is a Renaissance fair held each fall in Bonner Springs, Kansas, United States, next to Sandstone Amphitheater. Each year the fair begins on Labor Day weekend and continues for seven weekends, open on Saturdays and Sundays as well as Labor Day and Columbus Day. The faire began in 1977 as a benefit for the Kansas City Art Institute, and became a stand-alone event in the late 1990s. Presently, the fair has 165 booths and 13 stages, entertaining 200,000 patrons annually on 16 operating days.In keeping with its artistic beginnings, KCRF features over 150 shops and vendors, many of which sell original crafts and artwork. The site itself is artistic, featuring winding tree-lined lanes, painted murals, and banner-strewn, fancifully decorated buildings. In particular, the Institute for Historic and Educational Arts (IHEA) maintains a large presence. Its artisans demonstrate a variety of textile, wood and metal crafting techniques, even operating a fully functional blacksmith shop. KCRF offers a free Living History Tour in which patrons can view some of these craftspeople at work as well as hear presentations by costumed characters about Renaissance art, science, medicine, and warfare.

Sandstone Amphitheater, also known as Azura Amphitheater, is an open-air amphitheater located in Bonner Springs, Kansas, United States. It is owned by the unified government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas, shares its grounds with the Kansas City Renaissance Festival and National Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame and is located adjacent to the Wyandotte County Park.
