Empe

Voorst-Empe is a railway station serving the villages Voorst and Empe in the Netherlands. The station was opened in 1876 (as Voorst), closed in 1938 and reopened in 2006. It is located on the Amsterdam–Zutphen railway, between Apeldoorn and Zutphen. The train services are operated by Arriva.

Appen is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is located in the municipality of Voorst, about 0.5 km southwest of Gietelo, to which it belongs.It was first mentioned in 1299 as Appenses. The etymology is unknown. The postal authorities have placed it under Voorst. In 1840, it was home to 808 people. Nowadays, it consists of about 20 houses.

Bussloo is a village in the municipality of Voorst in the province of Gelderland, the Netherlands. On the beach De Kuiter, on the South Western side of the lake, nudist recreation is permitted.It was first mentioned in 1390 as ten Loe, and means forest. In 1818, a church is built on the estate of the Baron of Wijnbergen. The ruins of Castle Bussloo are near the church. Bussloo consists of about 55 houses.

Klarenbeek is a railway station, located in Klarenbeek, Netherlands. The station opened on 1 June 1882 and is on the Amsterdam–Zutphen railway (Oosterspoorweg). The station is actually 2 km north-east of Klarenbeek. The station was originally only built because the line between Apeldoorn and Zutphen was single track, a passing point was needed, this was here. Until December 2006, the station had just 1 platform and one train each way per hour stopped at the station, allowing the other to pass. In December 2006, when 2 more new stations were built on the line, the station received 2 platforms. The train services are operated by Arriva.

The Berkel (German pronunciation: [ˈbɛʁkl̩] ) is a river in the Netherlands and Germany. It is a right tributary of the IJssel. The river rises in Billerbeck, near the German city of Münster in North Rhine-Westphalia, and crosses the border with the Netherlands near Vreden (Germany) and Rekken (Netherlands). From there, it flows through the province of Gelderland to join the IJssel at Zutphen after about 115 kilometres. Before the coming of the railway, the Berkel was a major shipping route for goods from Münster to Eibergen, Borculo, and Zutphen, transported in flat-bottomed boats called Berkelzompen. In the 1950s, the Dutch stretch of the river was channelized to prevent flooding and to improve drainage. Recently old bends have been reconnected to the straightened lengths of the river. Brummen is a railway station located in Brummen, Netherlands. The station was opened on 2 February 1865 and is located on the Arnhem–Leeuwarden railway. The station is currently operated by Nederlandse Spoorwegen. The station closed on 15 May 1938 and 27 September 1944. The station re-opened on 19 October 1940 and 18 May 1952.

Zutphen is a railway station located in Zutphen, Netherlands. The station was opened on 2 February 1865, rebuilt after the Second World War and is located on the Arnhem–Leeuwarden railway, Zutphen–Glanerbeek railway, Amsterdam–Zutphen railway and the Zutphen–Winterswijk railway. The services are operated by Nederlandse Spoorwegen, Syntus and Arriva. The station is an important regional hub, with three local lines and one express line meeting in Zutphen.

Zutphen (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈzʏtfə(n)] ) is a city and municipality located in the province of Gelderland, Netherlands. It lies some 30 km northeast of Arnhem, on the eastern bank of the river IJssel at the point where it is joined by the Berkel. First mentioned in the 11th century, the place-name appears to mean "south fen" (zuid-veen in modern Dutch). In 2005, the municipality of Zutphen was merged with the municipality of Warnsveld, retaining its name. In 2021, the municipality had a population of 48,111.

The siege of Zutphen was an eleven-day siege of the city of Zutphen by Dutch and English troops led by Maurice of Nassau, during the Eighty Years' War and the Anglo–Spanish War. The siege began on 19 May 1591 after a clever ruse by the besiegers. The city was then besieged for eleven days, after which the Spanish garrison surrendered.

't Schulten Hues is a restaurant in Zutphen, Netherlands. It is a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star for the period 2005–present.GaultMillau awarded the restaurant 16 out of 20 points.Head chef of 't Schulten Hues is Peter Gast.Gast and his wife Jacqueline van Liere opened the restaurant in September 2002. Originally, the restaurant was located on the Houtmarkt, but moved to a bigger location at 's-Gravenhof in 2007.

The Flevo Festival was an open air Christian music festival held each August in the Netherlands. The festival was first organized as the Kamperland Festival in 1978 by the Dutch arm of Youth for Christ and became a private foundation in 2002. The last event was held in 2012; one month later, the organization decided to stop gatherings because the quantity of visitors was decreasing: For example, in 2012 the number of people attending the festival was 6,000, whereas in 2011 that number was 9,500 people. In its heyday, the festival attracted approximately 10,000 to 20,000 people each year. It highlighted all musical styles, but especially rock, and was considered by some to be the most important European Christian festival. Previous headline bands have included Stryper, dc Talk, Jars of Clay, Sixpence None the Richer, Bride, Audio Adrenaline, SONICFLOOd, Switchfoot and Five Iron Frenzy. In 2013 a group of former volunteers from Flevo Festival organised a festival in line with the 35 years of history of Flevo, naming it Flavor Festival.

Baudartius College is a Dutch Protestant secondary school in Zutphen, named after the theologian Willem Baudartius. It will be phased out from year 2019–2020, and all new students will go to a new school called "Het Eligant"
