Ysgol Dyffryn Ogwen

Ogwen is the name of an electoral ward covering part of the village and community of Bethesda in Gwynedd, Wales. It elects councillors to the community council and Gwynedd Council.

The Pantdreiniog quarry (also known as the Pant Dreiniog quarry) was a slate quarry within the town of Bethesda in North Wales. It was worked between about 1825 and 1923. It played a significant part in the Penrhyn Great Strike, Britain's longest industrial dispute.

Jerusalem Chapel, Bethesda, Gwynedd, Wales is a Presbyterian Church of Wales chapel built in 1841–1842 and reconstructed in 1872–1875. Of colossal size, the chapel can accommodate 980 people in its horseshoe amphitheatre. Still an active chapel, it is a Grade I listed building.

Rachub (Welsh: ['raχɨb]) is a village of about 900 people in Dyffryn Ogwen (the Ogwen Valley), Gwynedd, Wales, about three-quarters of an mile (1.2 km) north of the town of Bethesda. It forms part of the Llanllechid community, which had a population of 889 in the 2011 census.

Bethesda Athletic F.C. (; Welsh: [bɛθ'ɛsda]) is a football club based in the Welsh town of Bethesda, in northwest Wales. They play in the Ardal NW which is in the third tier of the Welsh football pyramid.

It rises where many streams flow down the slopes of Yr Elen, Carnedd Llewelyn and Carnedd Dafydd to join together in the valley below the cliffs of Ysgolion Duon ("Black Ladders"). It is one of several similarly named streams in Wales. The river flows north-west along Cwm Pen-llafar, with Caseg River joining it near Gerlan, and discharges into the River Ogwen in the heart of Bethesda. Afon Llafar has the same etymology as the River Laver in North Yorkshire, England, with both being derived from Brittonic laβar, meaning "talkative, boastful" (Welsh llafar, "loud, noisy").

Felin Fawr Works is a former slate works to Penrhyn Quarry Railway in Bethesda, Wales. It dates back to 1803; This is when the first mill was supposedly built. Felin Fawr closed in September 1965 with its current owners being Felin Fawr Cyf. Most of the buildings, if not all of them, are listed.

Cwm Caseg is a broad glacial valley in Snowdonia leading west from the Carneddau towards Bethesda. It is bordered by Carnedd Llewelyn to the southeast, Yr Elen to the west, and Foel Grach to the northeast. It contains a small lake, Ffynnon Caseg.

Llanllechid (Welsh: [ɬanˈɬɛχɪd]) is a village near Bethesda and a community in Gwynedd, Wales with a population of 889 as of the 2011 UK census and an area of 46 square kilometres (18 sq mi). The community also includes Tal-y-Bont near Bangor, Gwynedd and a large part of the Carneddau range so is therefore sparsely populated.

The Penrhyn quarry is a slate quarry located near Bethesda, North Wales. At the end of the nineteenth century it was the world's largest slate quarry; the main pit is nearly 1 mile (1.6 km) long and 1,200 feet (370 metres) deep, and it was worked by nearly 3,000 quarrymen. It has since been superseded in size by slate quarries in China, Spain and the USA. Penrhyn is still Britain's largest slate quarry but its workforce is now nearer 200.
