Parkgate railway station

Parkgate Cricket Ground is a cricket ground in Station Road, Parkgate, Cheshire. The ground, which is situated close to the bank of the River Dee, is mostly surrounded by residential housing. The site is fairly large, with two cricket pitches, lawn tennis courts, all weather floodlit tennis courts, lawn bowls, boules, 3 squash courts and a full floodlit AstroTurf field hockey pitch. It is used by Neston Cricket Club and Neston Hockey Club. The club also has representative Tennis, Squash and Racquetball teams. The ground is also home to the Parkgate Club House featuring 3 bars, a Cafe and 2 function rooms.

Neston is a market town and civil parish on the Wirral Peninsula, in Cheshire, England. It is part of the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester. The civil parish and wider suburban area includes Parkgate to the north west and Little Neston, Ness and part of Burton to the south. At the 2001 census the population of Neston ward was recorded as 3,521, increasing to 4,329 at the 2011 census. The Neston built-up area had a population of 15,162 in 2001, increasing to 15,221 in 2011.

Neston Urban District was an urban district in Cheshire, England and previously known as Neston and Parkgate Urban District (1894-1933). It was the local authority for Neston and Parkgate, in the south-west of the Wirral Peninsula. Several civil parishes of the disbanded Wirral Rural District were added in 1933. These were: Ness and parts of Burton, Eastham, Puddington, Raby, Thornton Hough and Willaston.Neston Town Hall was built in 1889 for Neston and Parkgate Local Board. On the formation of the urban district it was used as the council's headquarters until 1974. Since its abolition, the town hall has remained in community use and is available for hire. The building has been extensively refurbished and is now also used by Neston Town Council.On 1 April 1974, under the Local Government Act 1972, the urban district was abolished and its area absorbed into the Borough of Ellesmere Port and Neston.

St Thomas' Church is in School Lane, Parkgate, Cheshire, England. Neston High School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form with academy status located in Neston on the Wirral Peninsula, in the English county of Cheshire.Previously a community school administered by Cheshire West and Chester Council, Neston High School converted to academy status in July 2012. The school continues to coordinate with Cheshire West and Chester Council for admissions.

Little Neston is a village south of Neston and situated on the Wirral Peninsula, Cheshire, England. Little Neston is administratively part of Cheshire West and Chester and had a population of 3,390 at the 2001 Census.The settlement was mentioned in the Domesday Book as Little Nestone. Together with Neston, it is a former mining village, with shafts dug out underneath the River Dee. The marshes of the River Dee are popular with bird watchers and horticulturalists because of the wide range of flora and fauna to be found in the area. Lord Nelson's mistress, Emma Hamilton, was born in nearby Ness and is remembered locally with the Lady Hamilton pub. Little Neston is home to St Winifride's RC Primary School on Mellock Lane and Woodfall Primary School on Woodfall Lane. Neston Primary School on Burton Road is also in Little Neston. The nearest high school is Neston High School in Raby Park Road, Neston.

Gayton Hall is a country house in Gayton Farm Road, Gayton, Merseyside, England. It was built in the 17th century and refaced in the following century. The house is constructed in brick with stone dressings, and has an Ionic doorcase. William of Orange stayed in the house in 1690. In the grounds is a dovecote dated 1663. Both the house and the dovecote are recorded in the National Heritage List for England as designated Grade II* listed buildings.
