Sungai Dua is a township in Butterworth, Seberang Perai, Penang, Malaysia. Not to be confuse for Sungai Dua on George Town, the Sungai Dua on Butterworth is located to the north of Perai River and to the east of the North-South Expressway. This area has experienced rapid housing development. The main road in Sungai Dua is Jalan Sungai Dua P198 which pass over the township. The exit 165 of the North-South Expressway Northern Route (Sungai Dua IC) was located near the township.

RMAF Butterworth (Malay: TUDM Butterworth) is an active Air Force Station of the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) situated 4.5 nautical miles (8.3 km; 5.2 mi) from Butterworth in Penang, Malaysia. It is currently home to the Headquarters Integrated Area Defence System (HQIADS), part of the Five Power Defence Arrangements (FPDA).The airfield was originally known as RAF Station Butterworth and later as RAAF Butterworth, under the operational commands of the Royal Air Force (RAF) and the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) respectively. Although the airfield is now a RMAF base, under the terms of the FPDA the RAAF are a co-tenant of the base, maintaining an operational presence in the region alongside the RMAF squadrons. The airfield and associated base facilities are colloquially referred to as Butterworth.

Chung Ling (N.T.) High School Butterworth (Cluster School of Excellence) (simplified Chinese: 北海锺灵中学 (卓越学校); traditional Chinese: 北海鍾靈中學 (卓越學校); Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Pak-hái Chong-lêng tiong-o̍h (tok-ua̍t o̍h-tn̂g); Malay: Sekolah Menengah Jenis Kebangsaan Chung Ling Butterworth (Sekolah Kluster Kecemerlangan)) is a secondary school in Malaysia. The Butterworth branch of Penang Chung Ling High School was established in the year of 1986 under the initiative of its Directors Board. Following the footsteps of the main school, Chung Ling Butterworth only accepts students with good grades in their Standard Six Examination (UPSR). Chung Ling High School Butterworth is one of the handful of schools that conform to the government's policy of 60-40.

Bagan Ajam is a small town along the longest trunk road in Penang, Malaysia near Butterworth, the opposite city to George Town. It is best known for its morning market, where most residents will be, especially on weekends. Pantai Bagan Ajam is a beach here that is popular among the locals. Bagan Ajam and the whole of Butterworth have gone through changes with construction of the Butterworth Outer Ring Road. The road was completed in 2006. A Bagan Ajam rest and service area is located on the highway. This outer ring road was built very near to the sea only. Travelers can enjoy a seaview here and some cargo ships sightseeing. Bagan Ajam also has a toll plaza with 15 toll booths. There is one Touch 'n Go lane and one Smart TAG lane because Bagan Ajam is a residential area. Bagan Ajam is located 3 kilometers from Butterworth and 160 kilometres from Ipoh. The Malaysia first undersea tunnel also planned to be constructed here to shorten the hours for the people to go to Penang and Butterworth. Construction is expected to start in the 2020s. The Butterworth military airport, RMAF Butterworth, is also found there.

Seberang Perai is a city in the Malaysian state of Penang. It is situated on the Malay Peninsula opposite Penang Island, bordering Kedah to the north and east and Perak to the south. Improvements in connectivity and transportation were facilitated by several major projects, such as the constructions of the North–South Expressway, the Penang Bridge and the Second Penang Bridge. Today, Seberang Perai forms part of Greater Penang, the second largest conurbation in Malaysia.

Sunway Carnival Mall is a shopping mall located at Seberang Jaya, Central Seberang Perai, Penang, Malaysia. The 800,000-square-foot (74,000 m2) four-story mall opened in June 2007. It is located beside the Sunway Hotel within the town center of Seberang Jaya, a township initiated by the Government to boost the administrative, residential, industrial and commercial sector of Malaysia's northern region. Its investment cost to date stands at RM 156 million with a gross build-up of 800,000 sq ft (74,000 m2).Parkson Departmental Store, Golden Screen Cinemas, Jaya Grocer and NOKO Store are the anchor tenants. It also contains over 350 specialty stores.

Seberang Jaya (Jawi: سبرڠ جاي) is a suburb in the city of Seberang Perai, Penang, Malaysia. Located at the southern bank of the Perai River and east of Perai proper, the area was developed in the 1970s. Since then, Seberang Jaya has evolved into a booming area, with various commercial and retail developments.

The Arulmigu Karumariamman Temple of Seberang Jaya is a South Indian Hindu temple noted for having the largest rajagopuram, or main sculpture tower, in Malaysia. It stands at a height of 72 feet (22 m). The entrance of the rajagopuram, at 21 ft (6.4 m) tall and 11 ft (3.4 m) wide, is also the biggest in Malaysia.The Arulmigu Karumariamman Temple, as with many Hindu temples in Malaysia, had its humble origin over a hundred years ago as an estate temple catering to the needs of the estate workers living in the Paduma Estate in Perai. The area where the estate was located was turned into the new township of Seberang Jaya in the 1970s, resulting in the removal of two temples located in the area. Nevertheless, in response to the urging of the residents, the Penang State Government granted a piece of land for the building of a new Hindu temple. Work on the new temple began in 1996. Dato Seri S. Samy Velu, the Minister of Works, laid the foundation stone of the temple on 16 February 1997. The temple was completed at the cost of RM2.3 million, and dedicated to the Hindu deity Arulmigu Karumariamman, a mother deity among the rural South Indians.
