Killua Castle

Killua (Irish: Chill Dalua) is a civil parish in County Westmeath, Ireland. It is located about 26.69 kilometres (17 mi) north–east of Mullingar. Killua is one of 7 civil parishes in the barony of Delvin in the Province of Leinster. The civil parish covers 5,262.2 acres (21.295 km2). The largest population centre is the small town of Clonmellon. Killua civil parish comprises 12 townlands: Ballinlough, Clonmellon, Cloran & Corcullentry, Corcullentry aka Cloran & Corcullentry, Dervotstown, Heathstown, Killua, Kilrush Lower, Kilrush Upper, Knock Killua, Moygrehan Lower, Moygrehan Upper and Paristown. The neighbouring civil parishes are: Killallon and Kilskeer (both County Meath) to the north, Girley (County Meath) to the east and Delvin to the south and west.

Clonmellon (Irish: Ráistín, but also attested to originally have been Cluain Miolain) is a small village officially in County Westmeath although on the border with County Meath, Ireland. It is situated on the N52 road between Kells in County Meath and Delvin in County Westmeath.

Ballinlough Castle is a 17th-century country house situated near the rural town of Clonmellon in County Westmeath, Ireland on a hill overlooking two of the Westmeath lakes. It is the home of Sir Nicholas and Lady Nugent.

Kilskeer or Kilskyre is a townland and small village in County Meath, Ireland, 10 kilometres (6 miles) southwest of the town of Kells. It is the birthplace of Brian O'Higgins, the revolutionary and poet who was president of Sinn Féin in the 1930s. Jim Connell, the political activist and writer of the socialist anthem "The Red Flag", was born in the nearby townland of Rathniska.

Crossakiel or Crossakeel (Irish: Crosa Caoil, meaning "the crosses of Caol") is a village in County Meath, Ireland. It is situated in the north-west of the county, at the junction of the R154 and the L2801, approximately 13 km south of Oldcastle and 12 km north of Athboy.

Athboy (Irish: Baile Átha Buí, meaning 'town of the yellow ford') is a small agricultural town located in County Meath. The town is located on the Yellow Ford River, in wooded country near the County Westmeath border. It is around 15 km west of Navan and 50 km north-west of Dublin.

Athboy railway station was the terminus of a branch line which diverged from the Dublin to Navan line at Kilmessan Junction and served the village of Athboy in County Meath, Ireland.

Castlekeeran is a former monastery and a National Monument in County Meath, Ireland.
