Llangovan

The Church of St Govan in Llangovan, Monmouthshire, Wales, is a church with late-medieval origins. Renovations took place in the late 19th century. It is a Grade II* listed building and, since being declared redundant in the late 20th century, has been managed by the Vincent Wildlife Trust as a bat colony.

It is located on the site of an early Welsh defensive earthwork. The church was restored in 1884–85. It remains an active church in the parish of Llangovan with Pen-y-clawdd. It is a Grade II* listed building.

Llanfihangel Tor-y-Mynydd (or more correctly Llanfihangel-tor-y-mynydd, meaning, in Welsh, "the church of St. Michael on the breast of the mountain") is a small rural village in the community of Devauden, Monmouthshire, Wales. It is located within the Vale of Usk, about 9 miles south west of Monmouth and 6 miles east of the town of Usk, between the villages of Devauden and Llansoy.

Since 2005 the Member of Parliament (MP) has been David Davies of the Conservative Party.The Monmouth Senedd constituency, created in 1999, has normally the same boundaries as the Westminster constituency. These cover a large area, omitting the mainly urban areas of Blaenau Gwent in the west and Newport, Wales in the south. The constituency is set to be abolished, as part of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies and under the June 2023 final recommendations of the Boundary Commission for Wales for the next United Kingdom general election. Its wards is to be split between Monmouthshire and Torfaen.

It elected two Members of Parliament (MPs). In 1885 the Monmouthshire constituency was divided to create North Monmouthshire, South Monmouthshire and West Monmouthshire. The constituency is to be re-established, as part of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies and under the June 2023 final proposals of the Boundary Commission for Wales for the next United Kingdom general election.

Cwmcarvan (Welsh: Cwmcarfan) is a small rural village in Monmouthshire, south east Wales. It is located 4 miles south west of Monmouth and about 4 miles east of Raglan, off the old A40 road two miles NW of Trellech.
