Brislington

Brislington East is a council ward of the city of Bristol, in the United Kingdom. The ward covers the eastern part of Brislington and the areas of Bristol known as Broom Hill, St Anne's and St Anne's Park.

Carmel Christian School (CCS) was an independent Early Year's provider in Brislington, Bristol, England. Founded in 1997, the school originally provided all-through education, then in late 2020 became a facility solely for nursery and reception children. The setting openly promoted a Christian ethos and worldview while delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. Staff regularly evaluated their practice through The Bristol Standard.In July 2022, the proprietor and charity trustees closed the setting.

Brislington railway station was a railway station in Brislington, a suburb of Bristol, England. The station on the Bristol and North Somerset Railway opened on 3 September 1873. It closed to passengers on 31 October 1959 and to goods traffic on 7 October 1963. The site is off Talbot Road, close to the junction with the A4 Bath Road, and is used as a scrap metal yard. Parts of the platforms remain in place, although no buildings survive.

Callington Road Hospital is a psychiatric hospital in Bristol, England. Opened in 2006, it primarily replaced Barrow Hospital, providing psychiatric inpatient and community services for Bristol and the surrounding region. It is run by the Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust.

The Imperial Athletic Ground was a cricket ground in south Bristol owned by the Imperial Tobacco group and used by Somerset. The first first-class match on the ground was in 1957, when Somerset played Sussex in the County Championship. From 1957 to 1966, the ground played host to 9 first-class matches, with the final first-class match held at the ground between Somerset and Hampshire.The ground also hosted List-A matches, the first of which was between Somerset and Gloucestershire in the 1971 John Player League. Between 1971 and 1979, the ground held 8 List-A matches, the last of which was between Somerset and Gloucestershire in the 1979 John Player League.During its existence the ground also played host to Somerset Second XI matches in the Minor Counties Championship, Second XI Championship and Second XI Trophy.In 2000 the ground was sold by the local council and a modern housing estate today covers it.

Brislington House (now known as Long Fox Manor) was built as a private lunatic asylum. When it opened in 1806 it was one of the first purpose-built asylums in England. It is situated on the Bath Road in Brislington, Bristol, although parts of the grounds cross the city boundary into the parish of Keynsham in Bath and North East Somerset. The Palladian-fronted building was originally seven separate blocks into which patients were allocated depending on their class. The buildings, estate and therapeutic regime designed by Edward Long Fox were based on the principles of moral treatment that was fashionable at the time. Brislington House later influenced the design and construction of other asylums and influenced Acts of Parliament. The house and ancillary structures are listed buildings that have now been converted into private residences. The original grounds are Grade II* listed on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens of special historic interest in England and now include St. Brendan's Sixth Form College, sports pitches and some farmland. They are now included on the Heritage at Risk Register.

St Anne's Park railway station was a railway station in Bristol, England, on the Great Western Main Line to London. It opened on 23 May 1898, and closed on 5 January 1970.Recent proposals have been made for the station to reopen as part of the MetroWest project to improve rail transport in the Greater Bristol area. In November 2020, the government announced further funding to investigate reopening the station.
