Galten Municipality

Galten is a former railway town in central Denmark, at the Aarhus-Hammel-Thorsø railroad which was closed in 1956. The town is located in Skanderborg Municipality, Region Midtjylland, Jutland – about 17 kilometres (11 miles) – west of Aarhus and is now more or less a satellite town of Aarhus. Today, Galten has almost fused with the neighbouring eastern town of Skovby into an urban area with a population of 9,177 (1 January 2023).To the west of the town of Galten there are beautiful landscapes. The scenery between Galten and the nearby lakeside town of Ry is characterised by the gently rolling hilly landscape that is so characteristic of eastern Jutland. Galten is home to the STARCO Europe A/S, a global group for specialty tire and wheel engineering and manufacturing, and furniture maker Skovby Møbelfabrik.In 2022, Galten became twin city with the German city Würzburg located in Franconia. A small wine shop exists in Galten selling only Franconian wines.There is a movement to have a stop in Galten on the new Aarhus-Silkeborg railway line.

Veng Abbey (Veng Kloster) was one of Denmark's earliest Benedictine monasteries. It was located in the village of Veng near Skanderborg, Region of Southern Denmark. Veng Church, the former abbey church, is still in use as a parish church and is the oldest remaining in the country.

Herskind is a village in Skanderborg Municipality, Denmark.

Lillering Forest is a forest and protected Natura 2000 area in Denmark. It is located in peninsular Denmark in Aarhus Municipality, south of Harlev and some 10 km. west of Aarhus. It is a deciduous forest covering some 50 hectares and it is composed mainly of beech and European ash. It is privately owned but protected and partially managed by Aarhus Municipality and the Danish Nature Agency. The Natura 2000 site covers 135 hectares and also encompasses Tåstrup Bog, Tåstrup Lake and Stjær Forest, south of Lillering Forest. The southern section with Stjær Forest is within, and managed by, Skanderborg Municipality.

Harlev is a former railway town in Aarhus Municipality in Denmark, with a population of 3,990 as of 1 January 2023. It is a suburb only 13 kilometres west of central Aarhus and is located at the Danish national road 15.

Låsby is a small town in the province of Jutland in Denmark with a population of 2,034 (1 January 2023). It is situated on the main road between Silkeborg and Aarhus. The town is the location of the flagship property of Det Blå Marked (trans. "The Blue Market"), a chain of Danish antique markets, and which is a major tourist attraction, bringing in over half a million visitors to the town every year. In April 2005 it had its 15 minutes of fame as it became the first place in Denmark to experience the exploding toad phenomenon.

Until 1 January 2007 Hammel municipality was a municipality (Danish, kommune) in Aarhus County in central Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 144 km2, and had a total population of 10.830 (2005). Its last mayor was Ole Brøkner, a member of the Conservative People's Party (Det Konservative Folkeparti) political party. The main town and site of its municipal council was the town of Hammel. The municipality was created in 1970 due to a kommunalreform ("Municipality Reform") that combined a number of existing parishes: Hammel Parish Haurum Parish Lading Parish Røgen Parish Sall Parish Skjød Parish Søby Parish Sporup Parish Voldby ParishHammel municipality ceased to exist due to Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It was merged with existing Hadsten, Hinnerup, and Hvorslev municipalities, as well as the southern part of Langå municipality to form the new Favrskov municipality. This created a municipality with an area of 487 km2 and a total population of ca. 41,596 (2005). The new municipality belongs to Region Midtjylland ("Mid-Jutland Region").

Tarskov Mill Farm is a mill and a listed building in Aarhus Municipality, Denmark. The current mill was built in 1777 and was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places by the Danish Heritage Agency on 10 October 1964. The buildings are today used for horse breeding, raising cattle and as a bed and breakfast.The mill is placed on the Aarhus River north of Jeksendalen. The buildings can be traced bac kto the 1600s but is presumed to be older. The existing water mill was constructed in 1777 for milling grain. The mill no longer operates and the mill house is today empty. The water wheel was replaced by a 25 hk turbine in the 20th century but has since been removed again, leaving only the pond, water locks and grinders. The buildings are half-timbered and the roofs are shingled or thatched.

Illerup Ådal (English: Illerup River-valley) is a river valley and archeological site located near Skanderborg in East Jutland, Denmark.

Harlev Rectory (Danish: Harlev Præstegård) is the rectory of the Harlev and Framlev pastorate and a listed building in Aarhus Municipality, Denmark. The rectory was completed in 1732 and was listed by the Danish Heritage Agency on 3 March 1950. Originally it was the rectory of the adjoining Gl. Harlev Church but the Harlev and Framlev pastorates have been merged so the priest today serve both parishes. The rectory is owned by the Church of Denmark along with the church itself.

Borum is a village in Aarhus Municipality, Central Denmark Region in Denmark. Borum is situated 2.5 kilometres south of Sabro and 3 kilometres west of the Aarhus suburb of Tilst and has a population of 306 (1 January 2023). About 2 kilometres west of Borum is the village of Herskind. The village has an active community centered on the village hall, with amateur theatre, film club, choir, cooking, gymnastics, markets, etc.. Just south of Borum is the stream of Lyngbygård Å. The stream feeds Årslev Engsø and the Aarhus River and parts of the river valley has recently been environmentally restored and reconstructed, with nature paths and trails.

Beder-Malling is a town in Aarhus Municipality, Central Denmark Region in Denmark, with a population of 9,228 (1 January 2023). Beder-Malling is situated South-east of Mårslet and 6 kilometers South of Aarhus. Beder-Malling is a new town formed when the towns of Beder and Malling merged into one conurbation in the 2010s and it officially became one urban area.
